Teriyaki Time

I demote this place 1 star due to the rude guy who is usually there. A few years ago, the past people that took orders were nice and courteous. The food is solid and affordable as always though

Definitely my favorite spot to get a bento box, in Southeast Michigan.
Noodles are fantastic too!
You can tell that everything is made fresh, and tastes fantastic.

I was really disappointed in this place. There’s many other good Asian spots around, to say nothing of better Korean spots. The bi bim bop was very mediocre. I wouldn’t return here again.

Decent cheap food. Udon is A-​OK.
Bibimbop was pretty bad though. Although maybe I was just unlucky.
Owner is EXTREMELY unfriendly. It may not be in his nature, but if he worked a bit more on his American smile, he might get a bit more business. (Although judging from his attitude, it is quite possible that he doesn’t give a f*ck about how much business he gets.)

Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular.
I had originally gone down to Kerrytown to eat at a different location but upon finding they were closed, I decided to try Teriyaki Time. The location is ideal for good foot traffic but inside, the atmosphere was very disappointing. The floors, tables, and counters were very dirty and needed desperately to be cleaned. Tables could hold no more than 2 people and the lack of windows made for a cramped feeling. Maybe it’d be a better food experience if we took ours to-​go.
But, the food was decent and the service was good. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl and for the time that it took them to prepare the food, you could tell the chicken was pre-​cooked. While it wasn’t chewy or depressing, it wasn’t hot or very juicy either. The teriyaki sauce on it was pretty standard and flavorful but the vegetables included were very thinly sliced (almost seemed pre-​mixed/​packaged) and there wasn’t a very good portion of them. The dish consisted of mainly a thin piece of chicken breast and rice. My guest got a hot bowl and needless to say it kept the meal very hot the entire time but again, the bowl lacked significant flavor, the fried egg was overdone, and the meat was lackluster.
The service was good but again, the food was «eh» and it was nothing that stuck out in my mind or begged me to go back.

I found this restaurant via GrubHub and am so glad I did. Such friendly and timely service when I picked up my food, which was fantastic!!! I recommend it and I will return!

Eh — its open on sundays i think so that may have been why i went here.
my roommate wanted to go here because there is parking conveniently in front and right next to the Teriyaki Time shop.
I personally will never go back, the bimbimpbop was so mediocre (especially if you have had it other places in town like Rich JC … THE BEST IS HERE.
We sat in this sketchy back room, and we had to go up and pick up our food from the window … being the only people in the shop, the least they could do was bring our food to our table.
Cheap eats, for a cheap experience

The menu is expansive for a carry out location. We had chicken fried rice, and bulgogi beef. Both were freshly made as we had to wait for the food to be cooked.
They brought it outside to us on trays and offered 3 or 4 different sauces to go with them.
If we are in the area we would return and certainly strongly suggest it over the super overpriced Zingerman’s Deli which is right down the street.
Next time we are here we would order sushi to share. This time my table mates were not sushi fans.

This is a «go-​to» place for take out dinner for my family. The spicy chicken teriyaki is outstanding. Shrimp tempura roll is sometimes excellent, sometimes ok. Raymun noodles are a personal favorite during the winter. Friendly people and very fast service.

Man, I used to always walk past this place for No Thai, but not anymore! The Spicy Teriyaki Chicken was excellent! Good portion sizes and good price. Plus, the older man who runs the register is epic and very friendly.

Affordable & good! The restaurant itself need some more improvement but you can’t beat the price! One of my regular restaurant, I eat here for at least once a week, their pork teriyaki is awesome!

Little ‘mom and pop’ shop here, just without the «mom» component here (at least when I visited at around 8pm). It’s just your little independent sushi business laying around Kerrytown.
Ordered spicy tuna rolls, spicy California rolls, and the bi bim bap. The rolls were actually spicy, the rice: fish ratio was great, but the problem was the fish was definitely not fresh. But I might be holding the standard of fresh fish too high for a mom & pop shop of Ann Arbor. Anyway the rolls were like $ 5 each, which seemed very reasonable. You get 6 pieces each. The bi bim bap was okay. I was happy with the beef since it was marinated and cooked very well, but the rest of it seemed to just be veggies tossed on top of rice. It’s like they got a salad mix at Costco and dumped it in together to call it bi bim bap.
Lunch hour specials seem very reasonable. I think for sushi, I may try this again, but Sushi Town might be better for me. Lastly, I must note this place does NOT have any eel for their sushi! :(

Well sadly I’m taking away some stars in this review update, because the last couple times I’m been here it has been sub-​par. Salty, low quality chicken and extremely greasy tempura :(But I will go back again to see if it improves to what it was the first few times I went. Truly their teriyaki sauce is great though!!!

This place is gross! Don’t come here, seriously don’t. The food is just not very good. Sat down to eat with some friends and easily ate one of the worst meals of my life.
I’ve had really good teriyaki, and this is not it. The chicken was dry, over cooked, and horrible to eat. The rice was old, and the salad was bad, mmkay.

I can’t tell you how many times I have come to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market, looked at this place, and walked on by. Well not anymore.
Teriyaki Time lives up to it’s name as that’s pretty much all they have. Everything I’ve tried comes coated in this homemade, perfectly flavored sauce that is exactly what you’re looking for when going for that type of taste. Their beef and chicken is perfectly tender and juicy each time, and they have a great sticky rice and ginger salad that goes along perfectly with the teriyaki choices.
The interior atmosphere needs work, although I was informed it was painted maize and blue a couple of years ago. It really doesn’t matter though.
I highly recommend this place. I can now safely say it’s Teriyaki Time about twice a week.

The teriyaki is not bad. The food is reasonably priced.

I had the tempura coconut shrimp. The breading was sweet and tasty. With all due respect to the staff, I thought this place was lackluster and wouldn’t go back.
Parking is City of Ann Arbor paid/​metered street parking. Restroom was dirty. The restaurant’s outdoor trash receptacle was very dirty and smelled bad. If you’re able bodied, access is okay. Wheelchair access needs work.

I had a bento box here and ate it in my car. There was a nice sampling of the menu in it and everything was good. The prices were low and I went back a week later to try some fried rice, equally good.
This gets 4 stars from me because it is good quality for what it is; an Asian food stand, an it’s not fair to compare it to anything other than that. It isn’t marks carts by any means, but if you’re around Kerry Town and craving some east world flavors, this is a safe bet.

For $ 6 plus tax total, my California and avocado rolls were what I expected — a little puny, but tasted fine. You might be able to spell that crab with a «k». Still, I was happy to find a cheap, fast and light lunch during a crazy busy workday in chi-​chi Kerrytown.
I noticed that they offer a special $ 5 tax inclusive menu exclusively for Community High School students. Brilliant! Now I know why TT has managed to stay in business inside this historically struggling storefront.
The space is cozy and a little grimy, but again, I totally groove on that change of pace in this yuppified neighborhood. The man who took my order also made my rolls and he was polite and fast.
I wish they gave out tubs of soy sauce instead of packets — how am I supposed to concoct my soy-​wasabi sludge without a proper vessel?
Then again, I realize that sushi is not their specialty (they offer only five or six choices). I look forward to trying the meat and rice bowls. I have a feeling there might be another star in the stars for Teriyaki Time.

I drive by Teriyaki Time on a regular basis… I always tell myself that I have to give the place a try… I’m a fan of hole in the wall type of restaurants, as long as they are good… I had to give Teriyaki Times two stars…
Met up with a friend for lunch and we walked in. My friend has been here before, so his an expert… whereas this was my first time and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to eat… so after a quick check of the menu, I decided to try the Korean dishes. So my order was:
— Dol Sot BiBimBap ($ 7.95)
— BiBimBap Roll ($ 7.95)
— Fountain drink ($ 1.50)
My friend ordered Chicken Teriyaki bowl with extra order of fried Tofu, this was like $ 7.50.
We got the BiBimBap Roll first. As the name states, it’s a California roll with BiBimBap stuff in the middle, cut into 10 pieces and topped with fried crunch and hot sauce across the roll. Each roll is huge… just eating the roll will fill you up. The roll is stuffed with carrots, bean sprouts, kimchi, raw spinach, egg, and cucumber. The taste was little blend, so I ended adding more of the spice on the roll, which make it taste better.
The Dol Dot BiBimBap was okay. I definitely had it better. The rice is topped with bean sprouts, carrots, sliced cucumber, spinach, kimchi and fried egg. The vegetables were all raw. The hot sauce came in a little clear container. Just like the rolls, it was blend, had no taste. The bowl was hot, so the rice was became very crunchy… and I had to admit, it was way too crunchy… The BiBimBap came with Miso soup, which was okay.
They brought Kimchi and I have to rate this kimchi at 1.5 stars… the kimchi you buy from Meijer tasted better!
I sampled my friends teriyaki chicken bowl with tofu. It was good… I think I’ll stick to Teriyaki items next time I go… yes, I’ll go back and try the teriyaki items and see how they compare to other places.
This place is indeed very small… there’s some seating area the left of the cashier and more to the right. If you go to the right of the cashier, there’s where the fountain drink machine, tea and cup’s are located. Limited seating, if you the weather is nice, try seating outside.
