Sommerset Paving has been serving the Ann Arbor area for 20 years. We specialize in commercial parking lots, residential streets, and driveways. We offer all aspects of paving from new construction, milling, overlays, and seal coating. We also offer all types of concrete flat work and MDOT curb and gutter. We offer financing and competitve pricing.

History

Established in 1990.

We started as a seal coat business and within a few years became a full service paving company. We pride ourselves in providing an «asphalt» education to customers. Some consumers pick companies based solely on cheapest pricing. Unfortunately, the company that offers too good to be true pricing usually won’t be around if the customer needs any issues solved in upcoming seasons. We are competively priced for providing the amount of material that is promised. Many companies promise a certain amount of material knowing that consumers cannot see if 1.5 or 3 inches of asphalt is actually put down. We will give the consumer an education of how many tons of asphalt is required for a job and the load tickets to back up that promise. We do not know of any other company that turns their load tickets over to clients. A driveway or parking lot should last 20 years. Saving a few hundred dollars now can cost thousands in repairs in the future. Buyer beware.

I enjoy showing my kids projects that look great even after 10 – 15 years. In an industry riddled with fly by night operations, I like to be seen as a resource in the community. Providing a livelihood for people that work in my company gives me a lot of satisfaction and drives me to generate continuous projects. Looking at pavement that looks as smooth as glass and being able to make water run where other companies find impossible, are my ultimate tools of satisfaction.
