I have been here a number of times since it opened last summer. Usually I get food to go, but I did eat in the restaurant once. The restaurant is clean, but a bit noisy if you’re trying to have a conversation. I always get two chicken tacos, sometimes with chips, and the food has always been good. I like the spices they put on the chicken. The service when ordering is not what I would call fast, but it’s pretty much the same as other similar restaurants like Moe’s or Chipotle.

I don’t know what these bad reviews are talking about. I came here in January, so perhaps they’ve picked up their act after the previous reviews. Rest assured, thus place is legit and the quality of food is right up there with chipotle, except without the risk of E. Coli poisoning haha(jk there’s always a risk regardless of where ever you eat! That’s what you sign up for when you eat out!). People is Ann Arbor don’t appreciate Pancheros more than it deserves to be appreciated. People forget than Pancheros was here long before the first Chipotle set foot in the city. Chipotle was popular only because it had become popular in the west. Pancheros has come a long way and should be a legitimate option to choose over Chipotle, the key determinant being distance to closest chain. To be specific about this location, I walked it to a moderately busy store around 2pm. Extremely efficient and knowledgeable employees, and the place was super clean. Food was hot and fresh, and they even have Pancheros Rewards, so you can get free burritos and whatnot if you exhibit loyalty. Don’t listen to the bad reviews and give this place another chance. Bön appetite! Or as my fellow Persians say it: Nooshe Jaan! :)

Terrible service. Never eat here. Waited in line 5 – 10 minutes before the first person even started working on my food… it wasn’t very crowded, they’re just slow. Guy puts rice & beans in my burrito bowl then shuffles it into line for meat… continue to wait as servers prepare burritos ahead of mine. Meanwhile the guy behind me orders 2 burritos with chicken… which they immediately load up ahead of mine. Unfortunately that uses up all the chicken, which I had also planned to get. Guy then says it’ll be 10 minutes while more chicken is grilled. Said no thanks and left, luckily Applebee’s down the road has good service, if that says anything about how bad Pancheros is. Wish I could say this was a one time thing, but the 2 or 3 other times I’ve been to this Pancheros it’s been the same slow, schizophrenic service. Never again.

Stopped in yesterday mid-day. This was our first visit and I think they’ve been open three months. There were a half-dozen people in line and we moved with reasonable speed through the line. Two orders(with water) set us back $ 11. The service was helpful and swift. The food was good with multiple levels of spice available. The shop was clean throughout the eating area and Men’s room. The Ladies room did have a thick coating of dirt on the HVAC air-return vent(construction dust?), but that’s not something a routine employee would have on their list to clean…

The worst! Old food not hot and they actually mix you burrito items with a spatula. Totally gross. Asked for a refund and the cashier couldn’t give one because no manager was present.

I’ve always enjoyed your food but your staff needs to learn how to prepare it better. I ordered the tacos and the carnitas were not drained of their juice enough before placing them on the tortilla. It was wrapped up and placed in a to go bag. I took them home to eat which is a 5 min drive. I noticed when I got out of the car the bag was dripping everywhere. I looked in my car and my seat was soaked with carnita juice as well as my pants. This really infuriates me. To the staff at Pancheros, slow down and put a little more care and effort into how you prepare the customers meal. Double up on the to go bags if you know they might leak. I didn’t pay good money for you to do a sloppy job and have it end up all over myself and my car.

Like Chipotle if you take away the quality, the taste and the cleanliness. If I was as high as the employees, I might have enjoyed it more.

Despite a sign for tofu right in the restaurant, I was informed that if you want tofu you have to call a half hour in advance. Save your time and go to chipotle. My burrito was so full of liquid that I could tip it and it spilled out like water. I couldn’t even hold it because it was so flimsy and wet. The talked up tortilla wasn’t good enough to make up for the flavor-less and weirdly wet remainder of the burrito.

I was in today and had a nice meal. Quick service. Good price. Closer to my house. Gets a passing grade. The food was a little cilantro heavy for me

It was alright. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that they’re just getting their feet on the ground, but still. We came in on the weekend in the early afternoon for lunch and the place was a bit messy. No customer line but the store itself had half-eaten plates on the tables with no one sitting at them, litter on the floor, and the trays were stacked up in the trash right when you walked in. We were quickly helped but the employees didn’t seem very well trained. They somewhat went back and forth on the line with what they were offering. I had a carnitas quesadilla and it was so incredibly heavy with cheese and the meat was centered right in the middle of it. Two of the quesadilla pieces tasted great as it was heavy cheese + heavy meat but the end pieces were sad, crunchy, and dry. My sidekick had a burrito bowl which he said was delicious although they put a MOUND(about 2 full scoops) of sour cream on it when this in no way was desired. We also got a beverage and we tried to get some ice tea but either the canister was empty or not hooked up correctly because all we got was slightly flavored water. All in all, I’m not sure I’ll go back, but I know it wont be anytime soon. There are other places around that I know I can get a more consistent, satisfying product.

I came here a few days after the grand opening with my wife. We came in around 2pm. The place had only a few customers eating and no one in line ahead of us, yet multiple tables were dirty from prior customers. We actually had to wipe down a table ourselves in order to sit down at a booth. The staff were friendly but didn’t seem motivated to clean the place. My quesadilla was decent, as Panchero’s best feature has always been the freshly made tortillas. It’s pretty tough to mess up a great tortilla, melted cheese and meat. My wife’s burrito was a different story. Even looking at the counter, the fillings for the burrito just looked like they had been out for way too long. The lettuce was kept under a tin foil, so we couldn’t tell until too late that it was pale and wilted. The rice looked old and dry. The taste of the burrito reflected the sorry state of its insides. A flavorless, mushy mess. Hoping that the place can work through these early opening issues so that it can be on par with the Panchero’s on campus.

Looking forward to this place getting things figured out. It was definitely a messy experience both times I’ve come through, but the food has been OK. The staff seems to not be taking things very seriously, and it shows. Like I said, I look forward to them getting their feet under them, but now, I can’t count on a good experience. See you at Qdoba until then.

Ate there today with wife. We’d been anticipating the opening for awhile. We left very disappointed. The staff was unprofessional and needs more training. My wife ordered first and then I ordered a burrito. While my wife’s order was complete, I stood there waiting for mine to begin. The problem was the girl who took my order was too busy talking to her friend who was behind me that she forgot to start my burrito and then blamed it on the kid who just came up from the back. The whole staff seemed clueless including the manager. They were also OUTOFCHIPS. How does that happen? We won’t return.

Where to begin… Okay, lets start with the rating… I was shooting for 3 stars, but had to change to 2, compare to the service I received from the South U store, this place is totally opposite of South U store… as many reviewers has stated, staff members could use some refresher on training… and then there were issues with the freshness and quality of the food items. I ended up taking late lunch and went to stopped by here with a co-worker. We got here around 3:45pm… place was slow, two tables were occupied and staff members were not busy… I ordered my carnitas(pork) burrito… as I watch them make my fresh tortilla, I looked at the toppings that were available to me… I should have cancelled my order, walked out and gone to the subway next door. Why? — Dried out food — the pork, steak, chicken, grilled peppers… they looked like their life expectancy expired years ago… they all were dried out and should have been replaced every 4 hours… — Cheese… typically the cheese bin’s have cheese in them… on this visit, the cheese bin had friends visiting from salsa pico de gallo… half was covered with the salsa and the scoops used for the cheese were buried in there… yeah not the greatest sighting when ordering your food… Why did I stay? I was hungry… this was my only meal for the day and I’ve been working since 8am that day… my stomach overruled!!! As for the taste? It lacked flavors… I think Qdoba or Chipotle has better tasting burritos… Not sure I’ll be back, but given that it’s only five minutes from my house, I’m sure I’ll be stopping by from time to time… I just hope by that time, the staff member’s would have received refresher training and they do a better job on up-keeps with the food items.

I’m pretty disappointed. I wasn’t expecting anything amazing since its«fast food,» but I was still let down. Service was VERY slow. Only one of the 6 employees was decent. The cashier could barely handle her job and I had to wait 5 extra minutes while she sat there and thought about what to do when someone accidentally gave her too much money. The guy who«stirs» your burrito was definitely the slowest. He could barely do the stirring. I got a burrito and the tortilla ripped so the were making me a new tortilla. However, they didn’t tell me that. After I paid, my burrito just sat there and the cashier was just looking at it. She didn’t give me a receipt at all so I thought oh there must be a problem. Then she turned toward me but looked down and mumbled something. I said«Pardon?» And she mumbled something again but I still didn’t hear her. I didn’t want to ask again so I said«Oh, okay» and just waited. Then I figured out that they were making me a new tortilla. He brought the tortilla over and I thought okay it’s ready, but i kid you not when I say it took him at least 2 minutes to transfer the burrito into the new tortilla. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. He didn’t open the burrito he slowly squeezed it out of the rip in the tortilla. It was so weird. There’s even more but I’ll stop there. Not worth the price or the service. Food is mediocre and I will not be returning.

I’ve been here twice. I always get the same thing a chicken burrito add guacamole. Service is fast and the restaurant is clean. I haven’t had a terrible experience but it hasn’t been amazing either. Food is better than the Moe’s down the road. Panchero’s has been thrown in my lunch rotation. I say give it a try.

Been to the one on South U before and it was delicious, so we tried this one. The food is great but MAN it is SOoOOOOoO slow!!! They have. Bunch of young kids working here and they are very timid and slow. And I got a chicken bowl and so did the guy in front of me, but he had double the chicken that I did, so I said something. I think the kid just didn’t want to go get another thing of chicken. These kids need a lot of training…

Man, y’all are tough on the new kid. Stopped in for a quick lunch and had a perfectly lovely experience. The restaurant and food prep areas were clean, the service was quick and pleasant. It’s not haute cuisine but it’s tasty. I’d score them a notch above your average Qdoba.

First time having Pancheros. The chicken burrito was delicious and generous in size. The«made before your eyes» tortilla wrap was the difference maker here. When it comes to fast Mexican food, Pancheros hits the spot. Customer service was okay, but not great. Since this is a new location, the staff may need a few months to acclimate themselves. 3⁄5 Stars.

Manager appeared to be stressed out. He dropped my veggies in the carnitas and I told him and he said oh well and then they still charged me for one Onion slice. Better bet is to go just up the road to Qdoba where guac and queso are both free and they don’t charge for veggies either. I had 7 people in front of me in line and it took over 15 minutes. Again, best bet is to just drive up the road a bit to Qdoba.
