Maynard Street Parking Structure

On a Friday night, the lot was full and we did not end up parking. We spent seven minutes (according to the parking ticket) in the garage before we left– two of those minutes debating with the attendant. Upon trying to leave, the attendant demanded we pay $ 1.20 for «going over the ten-​minute limit». Upon requesting our ticket back, he spent as much time as possible very deliberately and obviously stalling giving our ticket back, trying to run out the clock. When he finally gave it back to us, we saw that it had only been seven minutes. We called him out on it and he immediately changed the topic, saying that the «lot wasn’t full». He refused to acknowledge that not only had it not been ten minutes at all, but the lot was actually full. He kept repeating, in his thick Jamaican accent, «$ 1.20, lady». Finally, we gave him the money and left, listening to him make snide remarks at us through the open window as we left. I would give this zero starts if I could. Do NOT park here and beware of scamming attendants. This was the shittiest parking garage experience I’ve ever had, and I’m from Chicago.
