History

Established in 1998.

Dr. Kathy Laing established her private practice in 1998, after having worked as a Division Head of Dermatology in the Henry Ford Health Systems. She attended the six year Inteflex Program at the University of Michigan from which she graduated in 1980. In 2006 she welcomed Dr. Dimick as her Staff Dermatologist. Dr. Dimick attended Carnegie Mellon for her undergraduate degree, graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1999, and like Dr, Laing, did her Dermatology Residency Training at the University of Michigan.

After having worked in various managed care and academic centers, I realized my dream of opening my own Dermatology Practice in 1998. I enjoy caring for my patients of all ages and backgrounds, and am fortunate to have an amazing staff working with me! Dr. Dimick joined my office staff in 2006, and has become a welcome member of my office.

I have seen Dr. Laing for a few months now. She was able to provide excellent treatment for my adult acne and rosacea. Prior to being under her care I had been to other dermatologists with little success — they all recommended radical treatment which I resisted. Dr. Laing provided an approach that cured my condition and I could not be more grateful.
She is a very compassionate professional and shares her knowledge with her patient.

I cannot recommend Dr. Laing highly enough. Before going to Dr. Laing, i saw three other highly-​recommended dermatologists and they do not compare. Dr. Laing is thorough in every way– her exams, the time she takes to educate her patients and the efficiency with which her office is run. I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time (usually no more than a few minutes.) She recently took a piece of skin for a biopsy and even without a local anesthetic it was essentially painless. Her patients come first.

I had been a patient of Dr. Laing’s for years before moving out of state 9 years ago. I still have not found a dermatologist as thorough as Dr. Laing. While in Ann Arbor on vacation this summer, I saw Dr. Laing to have a skin examination. I will return to see her for annual follow up appointments! She’s that good!

Dr. Laing is without a doubt the best dermatologist we have ever dealt with! We move nearly 3 hours away and have tried other doctors, but are now resigned to visiting Ann Arbor for our skin checks. She is by far the most thorough we have found, the only dermo who checks you scalp and takes her time inspecting every inch of skin for abnormalities. She also does the most delicate biopsies. Whereas another dermatologist left two white scars without even an explanation, Dr. Laing explains the reasons carefully and left no scar on my cheek for an actinic keratosis. She’s the best!

I have been seeing Dr. Laing for a number of years and can’t recommend her highly enough! She is extremely professional and at the same time very warm and friendly. It’s clear she cares about her patients and her profession. I’m confident that I’m in the very best hands with Dr. Laing. I have many friends and acquaintances who see her, as she’s the go-​to dermatologist in Ann Arbor, and I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t rave. The entire staff is terrific, and once when I needed to be fit in on a cancellation, Kerry called me several times until she found a time I could make work. I’ve always been seen promptly too. I have nothing but positive things to say!

Great office. The doctors are very nice and always seem to solve the problem I’m having. I get rashes a lot and they always seem to know what it is and how to fix it.
They are usually able to get me in right away, which I really appreciate. I would definitely recommend them.

I’ve never reviewed anything besides restaurants on Unilocal,but saw my dermatologist’s office on here and felt that a good recommendation could help new patients locate Laing & Dimick as a quality dermatologist office.
I have been a patient of Dr. Dimick for the past 4 – 5 years and have had the best experience at this office. They’re always on time, willing to listen to my concerns, and truly want to help me with whatever is needed, even if it means recommending me to another dermatologist for services they do not have at their office. Not until I went to college and had to see other dermatologists did I realize how lucky I was to have this office so close to home. Would without a doubt recommend this office if you are looking for a new dermatologist (or your first dermatologist, you got to start sometime!)
