Kaizen Healing Arts, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, aspires to bring vibrant health and wellness to the community through bodywork sessions, workshops, tutorials and retreats, as well as ongoing support in establishing and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. We offer mat-​based bodywork sessions which combine and synthesize elements of Thai massage and Shiatsu.

History

Established in 2004.

Opened in 2004 as a collaboration of practitioners offering naturopathy, acupuncture, massage therapy, including Thai massage. In 2013 Kelly Kempter became the sole owner of Kaizen Healing Arts, where she practices Thai massage and Shiatsu, and partners with Sacred Breath Healing Studies to offer monthly playshops, weekend intensives, seasonal retreats, private lessons and sessions in the art of Thai bodywork.

Business Owner

Kelly Kempter spent her youth dancing, discovered meditation, yoga and tai chi in her early twenties, and continues to unearth new expressions of these forces within her. Kelly first studied Thai Massage in 2003 with Randy Fillion at Irene’s Myomassology Institute, in Southfield, MI, and furthered her studies at ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2008. In 2011, Kelly served as an assistant teacher for Blue Lotus Thai Healing Studies’ six month program in Ann Arbor and returned to Thailand to study with Ajahn Pichest Boonthumme in 2014. Kelly is engaged in an ongoing apprenticeship in Shiatsu with Frances Farmer, COI and practices a seamless synthesis of Thai Massage with Shiatsu. A registered Thai therapist (RTT), licensed massage therapist in the state of Michigan (LMT), and certified in pediatric massage therapy (CPMT), Kelly is dedicated to promoting mat-​based bodywork in the community through Sacred Breath Healing Studies.
