Food is underwhelming. No authentic indian flavors. Never went back. Would not suggest this place if you are looking for authentic indian chat. Who wraps samosa ragada in lettuce? Weird flavors all over the place.

Service has been much better! I had rated this place 4 stars due to staff, but they’ve definitely improved. Also saw the owner there several times, and he was very nice and friendly. Hence, this place went up to 5 stars in my books!

Love it! My kids, my friends, I couldn’t get enough. We had ordered more for take out (dinner) because we had come here for lunch. Lots of flavor. Plant based. Friendly people. Clean. We will be returning :)

I do not like indian food as a rule, much less vegan food. However, everything I’ve had at this place is tasty and fresh. As odd as it seems, you almost can get a sense of being in Indian while eating the food. small, unpretentious place.

I felt they could have made the food more flavorful. When Indian food goes the way of «healthy» in the western sense, it becomes weird and tastes weird. I felt as if the food was alien. This is the second place in A2 that has demolished Indian food. There was a table with 10 people sitting in front of me, and I couldn’t see why they were having a good time here. I give two stars for their effort to offer something Indian at the very least.

I used to go to a really great chaat place where I used to live and I went here to satisfy a craving for chaat. I ordered a takeout order of Masala Puri with the spiciest sauce (as the guy who worked there said. «It’s American spicy, not Indian spicy so not that spicy»). The food was tasty and hit the spot.

I was shocked to see how unbelievably bad the food was. I wonder how such places run. This is one of those places that promise to offer good indian food but fail miserably.

Lovely people here. However, I’ve been here three times and the food is mostly underwhelming. I want to like it more but just can’t.
We’ve had a couple different chaats, the samosa wrap, the ancient grains bread, the tomato-​basil pizza and the green mung soup. My daughter and I loved the spicy, wholesome soup but everything else was a disappointment. My samosa loving daughter gave it a good shot but wasn’t interested in eating more than half of her samosa wrap.
We are an Indian food loving family but maybe we just prefer the fried stuff. Since this place is in my neighborhood, I’d go back for the soup and maybe a mango lassi if I were in the mood for something light.

I was utterly disappointed with their Shanu Chaat. I am from the Eastern part of India, and I boast of being from thw region that makes the best chaats in the world. So, my expectations were naturally high. The chaat was cold, devoid of flavor and taste. I know a lot of other places in town which makes much better quality chaats for less. Horrible experience.

A good place to learn permutations and combinations of same 3 – 4 ingredients. We ordered few of the very notable items. All we could see in each item were sev, green chatni and channa.
This includes the wraps. Above all … The restaurant had advertised a free mango lassi for an order over $ 30 on Unilocal.When asked for the the same, the cashier was full of attitude. Overall a pathetic experience.

Fo sho Methinks not (the one star rating!)… but I can’t totally dis-​advice it for Americans so a cautious 2 stars.
If you’re an Indian fond of street food glad to find a place serving similar stuff: turn around with your head down because you’re better off missing the lip-​smaking chaats than getting disappointed for 10 – 15 $. It sorta matches the description of chaats but just remotely tastes like it. Grab the crappy haldiram packaged alternatives if any from Bombay Grocers next door.
If you’re un-​familiar with Indian street food and intrigued — My American company did enjoy the whole thing and found the spice level bearable but weren’t interested in coming back for that. You can see it as a (rather badly) flavourful alternative to usual American salad lunches.
More precisely the chutneys aren’t tasty and the baking over frying isn’t done well because most of the stuff’s hard including pani-​puri fillings (which weren’t good value for money) so they haven’t gotten the recipe right in trying to change the tradition way of cooking chaats for ‘healthier’. I don’t think they’re staffed in a way that they’re cooking fresh — its reheated/​assembled sort of an affair but of course I am just vaguely guessing this.
I was really disappointed and won’t go back to try the paneer roll I thought I’d return for before the food was served.

Entirely vegetarian menu (mostly vegan, aside from a couple items containing paneer), with nearly all ingredients in their most «natural» form (organic, raw, unprocessed, etc). I would say the dishes are more Indian-​inspired, rather than authentic/​traditional, but quite good nonetheless. After sampling a significant cross-​section of the menu, I mostly stick to the shaanu chaat, a wonderful blend of chickpeas, papdi, rolled colocasia leaves (so good!), chutney, and more. The quinoa lentil wrap is pretty tasty and unique, but does not hold together very well; perhaps it would fare better if reconfigured into a bowl/​plate.
The owner (PhD scientist, former cancer researcher) is very friendly and more than happy to talk about his cooking philosophy — basically that we ought to receive nourishment and fortification from our daily meals, as a form preventative health care, rather than eating junk food and relying on medicine to fix the problem after the fact; I whole-​heartedly agree.
Withholding the 5^th star because many of the chaats taste pretty similar (probably the same sauce), so the menu, which is already pretty compact, is a bit lacking in terms of flavor diversity. I was also unimpressed by their signature ancient grains roti, and the soup was seemed dilute/​watery.

This is a unique original idea, healthy vegan food made from natural ingredients. A+ for originality and creativity. To my surprise it was also the most delicious Indian food I’ve ever had!
The owner is very friendly and I loved how he explained the concept behind the place and what exactly goes into each dish. He also told me about how some of their foods are being used in clinical trials to asses the health benefits. Overall the service was incredible and it was great to see him being friendly to every customer. A++ on customer service and being open about what exactly is in each dish.
The presentation of the food was excellent. It takes about 15 minutes to get your food. I got the Beet juice with ginger, and the coconut chilli shot. Excellent combination of flavored and sauces were very good, and most importantly here was no greasiness like their usually is in Indian food! I ate with my hands without feeling like I was getting oil all over them. Loved it. Even little details like the carrots and lettuce on the side were fresh and crunchy. The juice tasted like real beets and ginger should! A+ on food taste, presentation, freshness, and overall nutritional value!
My wife also liked her samosa wrap and Dahi puri. Again the food did not feel greasy at all, this was one of the first Indian places where we didn’t even need napkins to wipe the oil off our hands after we finished.
Highly recommend this place, and be sure to chat with the owner. Great guy!

I must have done something Karmically wrong and the universe is taking it out on my taste buds. Do you know what eating grass clippings tastes like? Have you ever wanted to know? If you are of this very limited (I assume) demographic, Hut-​K is for you. If you’re of the rest of us who came here because A) you ate too many chili dogs last night and you’re trying to make up for it, B) you like Indian food and wrongly assumed this would taste like it or C) assumed that so many positive reviews can’t be wrong, DO NOT COME HERE. DON’T.
You will be sorely disappointed, and be left with cold nutty patties to choke down while wondering how a culture so renowned for spicing can be used to pedal food so devoid of taste.
I sampled the C7: Shanu Chaat, as well as the «Back to Roots» ancient grains original patties made from 15 whole grains and served with sauces from nuts, greens and spices.
I shall preface this food review by saying I’m an Indian food junkie. My best friend told me once that I was mumbling «Gulab Jamun» in my sleep. Chutneys pump through my veins. So when I say this tastes nothing like Indian food, please trust that if there was a shred of resemblance to my favorite cuisine I would have gobbled this stuff down happily. But this stuff tastes about as much like Indian food as a woman wearing furs looks like a giant Mink.
First off the bat is both the Shanu Chaat and the patties are quite unappetizing looking. Lots of barf green, beige, and chunky looking slop. As for the smell, the patties smelled like if I lopped a few leaves off my aloe vera plant and microwaved it on high until I burnt the leaf. Finally, taste wise it is woefully under seasoned, lacking salt, heat and acid of any sort. The chutneys served with the patties tasted like the blandest most watered down almond butter conceivable. There is also an unappealing hard crunchy texture to certain parts of the patties.
Lastly, I will say it’s a bad sign when restaurant food is sold primarily by claims of how «healthy» it is. I have a B.A. in nutrition, and from all I know, what really helps people lose weight and be healthy is eating smaller portions of food they love, not larger portions of food they hate. I bet this food is indeed «healthy» when broken down chemically, but it’s also the exact reason most people find diets torturous.

Walking in the feel is similar to fast food or strip mall Chinese. But the food was so good it could have been served in an upscale restaurant. My friend has dietary restrictions and the chef (also the owner) came out and spoke to us and made something especially for his needs. Everything was beautifully set, fresh, delicious and wholesome. The service was also excellent. I would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone.

we went on a Saturday for lunch. We were on our way to an event and wanted to grab something quick to eat and be on our way. There were 2 tables filled when we entered the restaurant. One was a table of 2 people and the other was a huge party of 8 or something. We went and ordered. my husband ordered a sandwich and was told it would take around 20 mins. So he opted for something quicker.
and then we waited for 45 mins!!! There was only one cook in the kitchen. we asked the server about our food a couple of times and he would just say «its on its way» «the cook is just starting to make yours. «They hadnt even served our Chai for 45 mins.
Then my husband walked over to cancel our order. We were pretty famished and irritated by then. Then the server said that the cook is still working on the big tables order and that he would refund our money. i told him to just give cash so that we could be on our way. he said that wasnt allowed since we had paid by card. He fiddled with their system for another 15 mins and finally acknowledged that he would need to provide refund by cash since the system didnt seem to work. we took our money and walked out and had to pick up junk food on the way.
i will not step into Hut-​k chat again. for the time on the order and their customer service. unfortunately, i didnt get to taste the food so cant comment on it.

The service here was nice, the people were polite.
I like the healthy concept of this place, which is why I decided to try it out.
The «pizza» (Indian version) truly appeared microwaved, but apparently it was not. Not tasty at all.
It was odd that everyone’s food was brought out at different times.
The chaat was good, but it was lukewarm.
Carrot juice was juiced but seemed watered down.
On the bright side, the mango lassi was the best I’ve had.

Don’t let the location fool you — Hut-​K Chaats is a gem that deserves to have a line out the door. The food bursts with flavor and is very satisfying, and the portion size for the price is great. My dining partner and I split 3 dishes for $ 20 because the portions looked small from the pictures. However, we both had to take home leftovers, feeling extremely full and satiated but not weighed down.
Hut-​K Chaats is different from other Indian restaurants in that there are no thick, greasy sauces or buttery naan. The food is high in nutrition and protein, without making you feel like you are eating «diet food». It’s both rich and light, if such a combination exists. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality and fresh.
The interior is very clean and well maintained. The owner and staff are very passionate about not only the food, but also the health and well being of their customers.
Please don’t eat here, I want it all to myself. Just kidding. Definitely give your business to Hut-​K Chaats, you both deserve it.

I’ve experienced a LOT of Indian food — the good, the bad, & the ugly. This one definitely ranks in the top 5. I had a day that I felt deserving of a treat, and boy did I get one.
I had never been but it’s right around the corner from my house so I decided to roll in & give it a try. I was studying the menu which was unlike any other I’d seen, and the owner might have noticed my confusion so he approached & asked if I had ever been here. He then preceded to give me the entire rundown on their business philosophy: to take traditional Indian street food that is usually delicious but not very good for you & turn it into something «nutrilicious.» He explained their process & their ingredients & rationale for everything. It was quite amazing. The guy’s a PhD so he knows his stuff. And the proof is in the Indian pudding.
Almost everything on the menu is vegan & many can be made gluten-​free. He recommended the acclaimed Shanu Chaat (C7 on the menu), and it did NOT disappoint. Full of bold flavors that are all things sweet, spicy, & savory. I’m kicking myself now for not taking a picture.
I’m actually pretty disappointed that I’m just now learning of this place. I’ll definitely return ready to add new favorites from the menu.

Great healthy food! Enjoyed their Mark’s Carts selection and had to stop by here for a quick order. Was very happy with my meal!
I hate lately been eating less and less meat just because I noticed I would eat more with meat on the plate. Hut-​K Chaats is a great vegetarian place that offers delicious meals with Indian flair, flavor and spice.
I have had random items off the menu and enjoyed them every visit here. For something interesting and new be sure to check them out.
