I moved to Ann Arbor eight years ago and needed a dentist. I have sensitive teeth and was looking for a careful and gentle dentist. I tried a few places and felt like I had been in a boxing ring, losing the fight, after my cleaning! After a lot of looking I found Dr. Bhakta. What a relief. I see her twice a year for cleanings and once she did a tricky procedure on my gums so I could avoid expensive gum surgery. He filling is working great three years later. My daughter also goes to Dr. Bhakta and, because she has no dental insurance, she does not mind paying Dr’s regular rate. Dr. is sensitive to people with fear and she also teaches breathing techniques to help you through a difficult visit. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a gentle dentisit.

Dr. Bhakta provides great dental care. I also really appreciate how personal it is. She knows everything about my teeth and talks directly with me about what she’s doing to care for them and what I should do. She doesn’t nag, but she’s also up front. I also appreciated that she knows my insurance as she’s discussing dental care with me, and she’s open about cost and consequences. She’s also very flexible with her appointment schedule.

Dr. Sujata Bhakta is one of the best dentists I’ve ever had. She’s incredibly patient, thorough, and proficient. I needed some major dental work done recently, and instead of charging me a fortune, Dr. Bhakta offered me the choice of a a number of inexpensive dental options. She talked me through every step of the way, and provided me with the best, most affordable, dental care possible. I will continue to go to Dr. Bhakta for as long as I live in Ann Arbor.

Stay away!!! I really think she is incompetent in her profession. She did a small filling for a minor cavity which she was’nt even sure actually needed a filling. But some how she ended up cutting my root in the process. I listed her mistakes below — 1. She realized my root pulp was high only after she nicked my root, even though it was evident in my x-ray. 2. She took 10 minutes before telling me what happened after she nicked my tooth. She definitely debated whether she should o not. Then she said that normally doctors in India would not have told me that. I believe a doctor here should compare themselves to US doctors not that ones in India. 3. She misdiagonized late stages of my root decay(puss pushed the tooth up) as common TMJ caused by stress. She was well aware of my tooth issue. This caused me to suffer for 2 extra weeks. 4. She did not recommend me antibiotics which surprised my endodontist. She did not pay for any of my root canal expenses. She is incompetent and dishonest.
