We worked with Alex in November 2014 to sell our Ann Arbor house. We have worked with many agents over the years and he is far and away the best. From the start, he was extremely professional, showed great follow through, explained all the steps thoroughly, and remained a calming and patient presence through the process. He has a very effective team of professionals who stay in constant contact with each other and with the client. As a free service, he sent a design expert to our home who provided staging and decorative advice. As there was a possibility we would have to move out in the winter while the house was still on the market, Alex offered to regularly check in on the house. Alex offers great advice, is extremely knowledgeable, and is always quick to respond to an email, call, or text. It is clear that he loves what he does and wants to provide the very best service to his clients.

I had Alex as my agent selling my home in Ypsilanti. The office he represents works as a team to give your listing the shine it needs. They provide a lot of open houses and traffic into the home. Alex himself is upstanding and will try his best to communicate with you as your representative. Sometimes the team works on his behalf to meet your needs. Let Alex work his magic and take his advice during the price and negotiation process. As a seller, the only recommendation I have is being able to say no if you get a low offer. When you finally say yes, follow the guidance.
Update: I am now buying a home with Alex as my realtor. He continues to put his best foot forward providing timely showings at my request, and the team is quick to provide digital paperwork for my offers. His automated MLS email search seems to be 1 day ahead of zillow or trulia.

A worthless addition to our real estate transaction. Avoid him if you can.
Alex Milshteyn was the agent for the other side in our real estate transaction. Based on what I saw, I would never use his services.
Everything was going according to plan when he decided to show his clients how aggressive he could be for them and asked for a concession about 25 minutes before the scheduled closing. I told my agent to tell him to go to hell, and the deal would go through as-​is or not at all. It went through, but no thanks to Milshteyn.
At the closing, I found him to be rude and condescending. Considering he added no value to the transaction, that was a bit much to take. Overall, he added stress to the whole event without any benefit.

Buying a house is pretty stressful. I had no idea what I was doing when I decided to move forward with looking for some property. All I knew was that I wanted a space of my own with a yard, a space for entertaining, and within the Ann Arbor city limits. I wasn’t sure where to start or who to call. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended Alex and it was smooth sailing from there. He was helpful every step of the way, around to answer questions, available to address concerns, and be encouraging but also realistic.
When I was buying last year the market was crazy in Ann Arbor but Alex was determined to help find me the perfect house in my price range. And that he did! We looked at dozens of houses and he pointed out the pros AND cons of each. That’s one thing he’s particularly great at. He won’t sugar coat a property just to make a sale. He’s very upfront about any issues a home may have and he leaves it up to you to make the decision on whether it’s worth your time and energy to repair or renovate based on those points. Every home has its flaws but he’s good at pointing out which are deal breakers which was extremely helpful.
After looking at a number of houses with him I was able to determine what I really wanted and what I was able to make concessions on so when THE ONE rolled around I knew it from the moment I stepped in. I’m happy to report I’m writing this review from the comfort of my cozy home and I couldn’t be happier. It matches my personality and style perfectly.
For anyone who has ever bought a home you know that the process has a lot of ups and downs and he was supportive throughout. This was particularly helpful since I had no idea what I was doing! Alex is super well connected around town and knows his stuff about neighborhoods, old homes, and more. A fun person to look at houses with to boot!
If you’re looking to buy in the Ann Arbor area I would certainly give Alex a ring. He’s pretty much the bomb!
