A2 Hosting

Ive been looking for new hosting (done with the gator) and was referred to A2 Hosting from a good friend. I know hosting companies have growing pains as well as issue, no hosting company is perfect. Ive decided to jump ship from my current host because those issues are non-​stop.
I have had A2 Hosting for almost a year now and haven’t had any issues, sure they had a DDOS attack, but what hosting company hasn’t? Overall my sites have stayed online. I notice there are many bad reviews for their technical support. Every ticket I have submitted has been taken care of within 1 hour (unless of course I email them at midnight, then it takes a little longer). They have fixed any issues (usually my fault for not knowing exactly how to transfer a site from one host to another and causing issues, but they have always fixed those issues).
I was attracted to A2 Hosting because they offer the SSD hosting option. Would love to try their Turbo hosting but its kinda pricey. hopefully it drops in the near future. Overall I’m satisfied with A2 Hosting and hope that they continue improving their services. They are better than many other options out there, and their prices are competitive or better than others.

A2 Hosting Just Works…
I’ve been using A2 Hosting for several years and it has performed flawlessly supporting my personal photo website created using Sandvox. C-​Panel provides all the viewing stats one could want. I will continue to be a happy customer.

A2 Hosting company — ONLY IF YOU ARE A MASOCHIST!
I did a lot of research before going to A2 who has been touted as being reliable, fast, and etc… however, my experience has been anything but one miserable scenario after another.
Let me start from the top.
a) EIG owns most of the web hosting companies out there. bluehost, ipage, gatorhost, etc… which means their services are EXACTLY the same across the board as long as you know not to purchase the higher priced hosting plans.
b) A2 is not owned by EIG which meant, I thought, they must be better. NOT!
c) First I used the Online Chat system which A2 conveniently has on their homepage which is great. NOT!
Duane — my amazing customer rep. who happens to be a tech support individual who resides in the US somewhere. I had the privilege of waiting and waiting and waiting for a response from him. I had some difficulties logging into my FTP account and asked for some assistance. Duane did nothing but ignore me. Help was minimal and a time waster. It was obvious to me that there was something wrong and I was trying to figure it out with his help. I was naïve and stupid. Duane had better things to do than speak to me. For almost 30 minutes all he did was evade me and when I was about to pull my hair out he finally IM“d me and said, I have time now. WTF!
I had to call in and ironically on the other line was Duane my online representative who now is my tech support person. I was able to figure out the problem about the FTP configuration in less than 5 minutes! I literally wasted an hour to log into an FTP account.
d) For a day or two i tried to upload my tar file so I can unzip all my files at once. Easy Peasy… NOT!
A2 hosting resets or disconnects or whatever every hour or so often. You have to manually check every so often to make sure your FTP connection is still live. This is nothing but a waste of time. This should be a upload and go thing. I am literally sitting by my desk waiting for another disconnect so I can enable the transfer again.
e) the most important factor why you should not use A2 hosting is their FALSE ADVERTISING. A2 promoted unlimited storage related to their TOS. Even before any of my files has completed uploaded and configured I was told that my website which is about 30 gigs is too large for their shared hosting plan which has unlimited space as part of their plan, and was told I am required to upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated server.
How would A2 hosting know what I have or don’t have as a website and what I use as features or don’t use. I didn’t have a chance to upload and configure anything! I used other hosting companies before and I never seen a hosting company which offers an unlimited 6 gig plan.
I own a website company and have DEMOS and yes these demos takes space.
There’s nothing funny about false advertising but to suggest that my site isn’t a valid site even before it’s up and running is not kosher!
FYI: TOS are made to be vague and loose so the hosting company can do or say anything they want which is fine only if A2 took the time to examine my site AFTER it was up and running. Touting Unlimited than saying to a customer No that’s not what I meant is crazy!

An additional 30 GB in your account would be an inappropriate size for Prime web hosting. A VPS, cloud or dedicated server would be the appropriate platform for an account of that size. Similarly situated customers use approximately 2GB. The current account size of over 6 GB is doable but an additional 30 GB is not. Please select an appropriate account type if you must have that level of storage.

We do not have any hard limits for disk space, however, we do have usage limits for our shared plans and unlimited terms:
Assuming all of those guidelines are followed, it would be difficult to still have a website requiring 30GB. Therefore, our shared plans are not designed or suited for 30GB websites, as most are 2GB as George mentioned. Our Managed VPS hosting is more suitable for a website of that size:
