History
Established in 1992.
We began in Danville, CA in a leased space that we quickly outgrew. Built our own building in 1995, sold the property in 2005 and moved our kitchen to Napa Valley. We offer private hands-on culinary experiences for groups of 2 to 20. We create events for intimate groups of two or corporate groups that build camaraderie. Quality of ingredients is paramount as well as technique. At the culmination of the cooking the group is seated with a breathtaking view of the valley and served the fruits of their labor, each course paired with wine and a story about the vineyard or winemaker. Everyone receives copies of the recipes and techniques to take home along with great memories. We take pictures throughout the event and share them as well. A unique event in Napa Valley beyond wine tasting and dining out!

Business Owner
DJ and her husband Kent began Cooks and Books in 1992. When they built their own building they added Corks to the name and the wine shop. Offering guest chef appearances as well as house chef taught classes and catering they kept busy. In 2005 they sold the Danville property and moved to Napa Valley. Perched on Howell Mountain overlooking the valley the view is breathtaking as is the kitchen. Attention to detail, ingredient quality, technique, and fun are all incorporated into our classes.
