Description

Specialties

Cahoots Coffee Café is a non-profit café by day, and at 3:30PM when those buses stop, we turn into a youth center focused on helping adolescents and teens. We serve excellent brewed coffee, specialty coffees, and a new lunch menu that focuses on salads and wraps. All proceeds go directly to our programs such as tutoring, MRT, or Tell It Like It Is (a few examples among many) which is free for all youth participating.

History

Established in 2006.

Cahoots started as a need in the community: Angola, Indiana needed a place, a safe place, for teens to be able to go and be themselves. Over the last ten years, Cahoots has evolved from just a simple café, to a full-fledged youth driven, community involved non-profit. Still serving a great cup of coffee, our Baristas double as tutors and mentors, offering and supporting our free programming for adolescents and teens.

Meet the Manager

Naomi B.

Manager

Cahoots does not have a single owner, but instead has a Board of Directors. Under that Board of Directors we have Barb Bryan, our Executive Director, a retired nurse with a passion for grant writing and youth programming. Under her would be the faces you see often in the café: Crystal and Naomi. Crystal is a LSW and our Program Director, a keen speaker, and much loved by our teens. Naomi is our Operations Manager who loves a great cup of coffee and teaches Creative Writing to middle-schoolers in Tuesday’s Youth Enrichment programming.
