Dan Gillan Photography

I love Dan! After working in the wedding industry I recommend no one but Dan. He is a phenomenal talented photographer. He is extremely professional and will capture the perfect photos on your wedding day.

One word: amazing! We hired Dan to do our daughter’s newborn shots. His studio was stunning, yet comfortable, and had everything we needed to feel right at home, including a small room in the back where I could breastfeed and it even had extra diapers! A typical session lasts three hours– Dan spent four hours with us, not rushing us, making sure we had gotten all the shots we were hoping for. He was totally willing to use the props we brought in addition to his own, and his creativity made those shots even better than we had hoped!
I shopped around and researched almost every newborn photographer available in the north shore area, but no one else’s portfolio came close to Dan’s quality. I love that Dan has a one time only session fee– so when we return for our one year photos and family portrait sessions in the future we never have to pay another session fee– just the price of prints. I was most impressed with Dan’s digital package and you will not find anyone else in the area to compete! I have already developed high quality prints of our newborn photographs but I love that I will always have the digital rights to my daughters photographs and to continue to print them myself in the future. I don’t believe in the excuse other photographers use to charge upwards of $ 4,000 for digital cd’s stating that they do this to encourage clients to print the photographs. I agree that photographs are meant to be printed, but I should be able to choose who prints them and have the rights and access to those files permanently without having to break the bank.
After our session, Dan had us come back to his studio to look over his favorites and choose our favorites. He can help you design a gallery at home, helping you to arrange prints in a way that looks best in the space you have. He spent at least an hour helping us design our birth announcement/​thank you cards and they came out fantastic! We had so many compliments!
In summary, working with Dan was a pleasure. I highly recommend him! His work is excellent and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our photographs. We can’t wait to work with Dan again as our daughter gets older!

Dan is awesome! Dan was our wedding photographer and I could not be happier that we hired him. He was professional but fun! His photos are beautiful he is so talented. If you are looking for a photographer who makes wedding photos that are works of art instead of pictures he is your guy.
When I first met with him I met at his studio so I was able to see all the different types of work he does. He is not only a great wedding photographer but his portraits and video work are top notch.

We chose Dan to do our baby’s six month photos, and we are so glad we found him! His work is beautiful and the pictures are absolutely amazing. Dan was full of great ideas for the session and really captured the essence of the family. His energy, enthusiasm, and love of photography really shines in every picture he takes. We couldn’t be happier with the way our photos turned out. We will be returning for all of our future family photos.

Dan is GREAT!!! Very creative, accommodating, professional, fun and caring. He is so talented. I was very fortunate to have found him for my wedding. My wedding was from 7am to midnight and Dan was there the whole entire time, energetic and always on the run for a good photo. When I commented about how my photos were great and that Dan captured a lot of our good moments to my wedding coordinator, she said to me «I knew he would because whenever he sat down to eat or rest, and if there’s something happening at your table, he’d drop his food, everything he was doing, grab his camera and ran to your table.» That’s what I call caring.
Our photos turned out FANTASTIC! I showed everyone (even people I’m not that close to) my wedding photos and EVERYONE loved the photos, and asked me who was the photographer. Best photographer!

Finding a creative yet classic photographer is a difficult task but I was very fortunate to have found the perfect photographer in Dan Gillan.
Though based in LA, I have hired Dan to do shoots for many of my clients outside of his studio. My experience with Dan has been nothing short of amazing each time I have worked with him. He is accommodating, caring, and a pleasure to work with — all of the clients have boasted about how fantastic their time with him was. Recently, when I was visiting Boston, I had the opportunity to visit Dan’s studio– the studio was warm and inviting, and not to mention absolutely beautiful. He has a great system set up where he can show you a sample of your photo session with him, and the monitors are set up so the editing process can be watched from the waiting room too! This way studio clients can see first hand what Dan can do.
Overall, I would recommend Dan Gillan to anyone looking for professional, artistic, and masterful photography for ANY occasion. I personally can’t wait to have another chance to work with him!
