But your mistake of not checking other options would have cost me $ 1000. A pretty good chunk of change. Part of going through a travel agent is that I don’t have to worry about things, letting a professional do the worrying for you. Trusting them to do a competent job. Getting the best price for a quality experience.
You are hurt that I would think you were ripping me off? True, I don’t know you. However, people everyday are being taken advantage of. This is a fact. What happened was either you were ripping me off for 1000 dollars or you made a mistake/​poor judgement that was going to cost me 1000 dollars. I’m unsure what’s worse: incompetence or greed.
Regardless, I am willing to go through you at your price if you are willing to do something that reestablishes trust. What are you willing to do to secure my business, my trust, referrals and a positive review on Unilocal?

As a travel agent we can work with few sources and sometimes and they very in price/​very often/​. I emailed you and then did see some lower possibilities.

Instead of asking for explanation you are assuming I am trying to rip off. Also, I take pride in making vacation for any budget and just because I am located in Andover doesn’t mean I am only helping with big budget vacations.
I own this agency, I am in this business for over 20 years, I love what I do. I am glad you are giving me possibility to explain/​well, to be honest I would anyway without your email/​.
Again, I am sorry for not immediately responding to you with lower price, and let me assure you I was intending to let you know of lower price.

Hi Kasia,
When we had talked in your office, I told you of two reasons why I wanted to meet you. One was a short term goal (to get away for a few days for thanksgiving holiday)…and the other was a long term goal (to build a relationship with a travel agent in my area). I intend to travel much and often.
It is important to be able to trust those that I am in business relationships with. I need to be economical with my discretionary income. Perhaps you are used to working with people in Andover and they probably have significantly larger budgets than I.
However, you gave no explanation as to why there was such a wide gap between my price 3,100, and your price 4,095.20. I am wondering if you just made a big mistake in your addition of costs… or if you are price gouging. There’s a part of me that thinks you were going to try and rip me off, Kasia.
Now I met with you and felt like you knew your business. I also felt like you were a very nice lady. You should be paid for that and your price of 3,258 seems fair to me. But why not set that price at the beginning?
I am suspicious of you now. That said, I want to give you an opportunity to explain yourself and make this right. I want to feel good about doing business with you now… and in the future. I also very much want to leave you positive reviews on Unilocal,where I saw your business originally.
Does this make sense? Do you understand my position?

I’m showing a bedroom suite online (with a kitchen) at the rincon for $ 1673 for the dates specified.
I’m also showing flights to Puerto Rico for the dates and times we need for 699 dollars. If you add that up, that’s 3,000 dollars. If we didn’t go through you, we would save close to 1000 dollars. To me, that seems like quite the savings.
Am I missing something here?

Kasia, the owner of Colpitts Travel is a terrific travel agent, wonderful person, and very knowledgeable in many areas of the travel industry. In the past I’ve relied on internet services to book trips, but since I’ve stumbled upon Colpitts Travel I’ve truly experienced relaxing vacations without a hitch. For instance, it is evident that she has personally visited almost every island in the Caribbean. With that she’s given me first hand (and honest!) comments, recommendations, and her own photos of many hotels/​beaches.
Colpitts Travel is easy to find and park in downtown Andover, MA right on Main Street which is another plus for me! Kasia has worked on trips for me both in-​person and over email/​phone and it’s been a five star experience every time. I’ve recommended her to my friends, who have booked honeymoons, cruises, and European trips and I’ve only heard good things from them too.
Five stars, I highly recommend it!
