Slow service, extremely slow service. The food was sub-par. But I can’t get past the service. I you have 3hrs to spare, stop by.

After the movie it’s a perfect place to eat and talk about it. We had the Tuscan chicken pizza and it was great. So was the service by a really wonderful young server named Tiffiney. We’ll be back!

I don’t think their pizza rates above a Domino’s. Kind of a weird atmosphere, too, in an old outlet/strip mall. Not much on ambiance or quality of food. I have eaten in both locations, and didn’t find the Redding location to have food that was any better.

Ate here for the first time last night. The staff was quick to seat us and take our drink order then our order. But it seemed to take a little bit before the food got to us. The pizza was really good. Crust was alright. All in all it was good. A little noisy but good atmosphere.

The Pizza Dog is the best! I eat there whenever I’m in Anderson. The Caesar Salad is also good, the dressing is very light.

My family of 3 love to eat here. My son is 6 and he loves that he gets to make his own pizza when he comes in. Also they have the best meatballs everrrrr! And there pesto pizza is out of this world great!!! Love Maries pizza shack in anderson. We will definitely keep coming back! Last but definitely not least the staff at the anderson location is the best! Always kind people and they are always smiling.

Passing through town on our way home from vacation and decided to stop for dinner. Some of the reviews weren’t favorable but I must say, we were quite pleased. Our waitress was kind and attentive(thank you Nancy). The half wedge salad was big enough for two people. We ordered a thin crust medium Mary’s Combo– it was loaded with meat and really, enough for four people. Our waitress was good enough to suggest that we order the crust«crispy» so it would hold the toppings and not be soggy. The pizza was flavorful though I would have preferred the sausage to be more spicy. All in all a good choice– we would stop again without hesitation.

For your own safety, you should not eat here. The food was ok, it was the servers and there approach to proper food handling. I was seated at a table that had an unobstructed view of the salad bar used by the cook staff. During the time I was there, I observed wait staff assembling and serving salads without washing their hands and/or wearing gloves. I know they were wait staff because of their black aprons and since I watched them leave the dining area and make the salads without washing. Also, cook staff at Mary’s wear white aprons. Yes, I will be calling our local health department tomorrow to report this major health violation.

My sister and I were so excited to find this restaurant! Your restaurant in Redding was so good and the staff so friendly!!! We asked our waiter if he knew of any restaurants in Anderson. Since that was where we were staying and had bad food for two days. We were so happy to know you had a restaurant in Anderson right by our hotel. The staff and food was awesome!!! We ate at your restaurants four times!!! Thanks so much for making an awful trip some what tolerable with great staff and food!

Great pizza, that’s what we ordered. I had five kids with me who all agreed that it was one of the best they ever had. I wasn’t so enthusiastic in my review but what the kids thought of it was more important to me. Service was okay on a busy night, as one might expect.

I’ve dined here a likely dozen times and have loved my food each and every time. The three stars are earn in the food arena. What I struggle with is the service/competency of the employees. Each time I’ve received any type of service here, whether it be for appetizers or a full meal, there seems to be an overwhelming number of employees performing an underwhelming amount of work. I’m not sure if they have a crazy turnover rate, or just seasonable employees, but it always seems to be a struggle to order something straight off the menu. For example, I just spent 15 minutes(literally! See my photo) on the phone for a delivery. We don’t do deliveries often, this is maybe the second time, though we do eat here regularly. The following was my order: Gluten free Sriracha pizza, no bacon, add chicken Large order of garlic fries, extra garlic Sweet and spicy BBQ wings, extra sauce I understand I’ve modified the menu, though it took two employees and a lot of confusion to reach a consensus. I love the food at Mary’s, however my husband and need to be very selective on when we choose to dine at this establishment. It is not conducive to a smooth evening out.

I just had simple chicken strips and garlic fries. I’m pretty sure I got just breading without chicken. And fries without garlic. The only way I could eat the«chicken» was with some thousand island and ranch. I only give this 3 stars because the waitress was very sweet and funny.

Went with the family. Ordered five different things. It seemed like it took forever to get our food. We were unsure if the bread was supposed to come before we got the food so we got impatient and asked for it before hand. Can’t tell you if its complimentary or not. The bread came with darigol butter in little packets. It was at the bottom of the bread so it was awkward getting to it cuz you had to pick up the bread get the butter and put the bread back. But maybe the put it there so the warmth of the bread will melt it a little? Tap water tastes disgusting. Not just like tap but also dirty. We got got a california pizza. How could anything with avocado and bacon be bad!!! It wasn’t except for Indidnt think the chicken was that appetizing and I picked it off. Also got a grilled chicken sandwich with Italian on the side and light mustard. It was delicious their focaccia is very flavorful and a good texture. The chicken is just a chicken breast. The blta was the best thing because again how could avocado and bacon be bad? And this time there was no chicken to pick off and it comes on the focaccia which is great! All in all the food is great and the service is not– but they were really busy so maybe it is just a reflection of how busy they were.

As pricey as they are, I would have expected their pizza to be better. We gave it a try the first time because someone gave us a gift card. We ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño. Not terrible, but didn’t blow me away. Too many toppings(Did I just commit pizza blasphemy?) No, I think they overdo it. We decided to give it a second try. Their location is so convenient before a movie across the street! We ordered a ham and pineapple. Simple enough. I just wasn’t pleased, and actually, kind of a little grossed out. Crust is not crispy enough for me, but what I couldn’t get past was the soft ham. I feel like the ham on a hawaiian pizza should have slightly crispy edges. The ham on this pizza almost seemed like it wasn’t cooked and it just threw off the entire texture and experience. Again, topping overload. That’s probably it. When the toppings are out of proportion, the cheese can’t get browned, and just stays gooey and flavorless. I think that’s what’s happening and why we can’t seem to get on board.

We only stop here when we’re driving through since we’re often goin back and forth between Sacramento and Eureka. Great food, good prices, fun for the kids and adults too! Service a little slow even when it doesn’t seem all that busy. But very friendly service and smiles all the same. We’ll stop in again and again.

Just acceptable. It’s really hit or miss both with the service and the food. I’ll start with food and location. They are in a small strip mall in Anderson, easy to get to. Sometimes sort of busy during the normal hours that would be rushed. They usually get you seated in a pretty quick manner, unless you have tons of people to your party in which case you might have to wait a bit. The food is, overall, good. Pizza is really good, soups are good, bread that comes with entrees is really good. Sandwiches are really good, usually. Pasta is acceptable, not the greatest though. Burgers are not good, don’t order them. They are bland and greasy every time. Service there is lacking. Staff seems easily overwhelmed a lot. Often messing up orders with just a small party. This happens regularly, I’d say every time I go in. I only go now when family invited me, it is never my choice place to eat. The last time I went my friend took me for my birthday(she chose it and I wasn’t going to suggest otherwise) and the waitress literally argued with me and got snappy for NO reason, because she got our order mixed up and brought too many salads with ranch. I was pretty shocked, and after going back and forth with her(I was super polite and understanding until this point) for about 3 exchanges, I finally got annoyed and let my voice reflect such. She switched out with another waitress after that. Not very good service.

I have given Mary’s a few chances and I keep hoping it will be better. I was wrong. The first time we went we were with another couple and ordered a couple pizzas some bread and 4 drinks 2 of which were beers. The bill came to $ 90. A almost thought there was a problem with their calculations but the fact was they are just way over priced. The last time and it will be the last time I was there was Friday 9÷26÷2014. We were waiting to see a movie and stopped here to give it another try. I ordered meatballs thinking they should get that right. I was wrong, they were awful and tasted like Chef boy arde or something. I don’t even want to think about it. We gave them 3 or 4 chances and shame on me for trying it again. Do yourself a favor, DON’T EATHERE! I’m not in the food business but I like food to taste good for a reasonable cost. I didn’t get either here. P. S. I don’t believe the 5 star ratings here. Probably fake.

I have been a regular at this Mary’s Pizza Shack for a few years. Although other places are much cheaper, I appreciated the quality of Mary’s food. That is no longer the case. At first I thought that perhaps the cooks or waitresses were having an off night. This being one of my favorite restaurants, I wouldn’t let one bad meal make me swear off eating there. Now a few terrible meals later, I don’t think I will be visiting this restaurant again. Tonight we ordered a pizza to go and asked for a Hawaiian with extra sauce and thick crust. What we got is the thinnest pizza I have ever seen. It was burnt and sections of the pizza had additional seasoning for some other pizza(maybe the one with pesto). It further ruined the flavor of this already underwhelming pizza. In addition, we have seen an increase in the number of unsuitable staff at this restaurant. There are a few waitresses I have seen here I really like and enjoy their service, but some of the newer ones are very unprofessional, careless and sloppy in their service. Tonight when my husband paid the waitress, she returned his change by almost throwing it at him. It then fell and she cussed. Very awkward. I am writing this review in hopes that management for this once-awesome restaurant will begin to make some changes. I hate writing bad reviews but hopefully this will result in a positive change so we can enjoy eating here again.

I EATHEREFORMYHUSBAND I don’t know that I’d actually eat at Mary’s all that often if it weren’t for my husband. He loves paying for overpriced breadsticks with ranch. While I enjoy these, I don’t think they’re a very good value. I’ll admit, the breadsticks are very good. I usually add a little dill and garlic to the ranch. But its $ 4.55 for one order and he normally eats almost two orders. We usually get this food to go when eating at the Mary’s in Walnut Creek. It’s been a long time since I sat down inside one. He told me they have free breadsticks for the taking when you dine in, but you get no dipping sauce(ranch, butter, etc.) What?! And he pays for something he could get for free? I just don’t understand… I guess fresh is best. Our server Shelby was really great. She was friendly and fast and brought me lids for the butter I didn’t finish without me having to ask. I had a small Mary’s salad $ 5.65 with my Coors Light $ 3.85. The salad was very good and fresh and had lots of toppings, but it was really small. Guess it’s better to have a small plate and finish it than eat ’till I’m stuffed. Overall, this location seemed as clean and nice as the one we have at home. I was suprised there weren’t more people in it, but perhaps there are others like me who just don’t see much value here.
