GUURL! IFYOULIKEITSWEET… Ms. Mary Jenkinson is the owner of Apron Strings. She sells aprons, towels pillow cases and food items like jams, jellies, preserves, sauces and baked goods. I really didn’t even see the sewn items because I immediately zeroed in on the baked quick breads and items in jars. Just a side note: When it comes to aprons, I keep it simple and wear a long black chef’s apron that falls to my knees and has plenty of pockets. I need function over cuteness. On the other hand, I am always drawn to baked breads,(like banana and pumpkin breads) and I just like to squeeze them. I would never consider purchasing an entire loaf because I am capable of baking my own. I wish she had prepared single servings because I would have purchased them just to sample the product. If you want someone to purchase an $ 8 or $ 10 loaf of bread, you really need to allow them to sample the product first. I can’t believe that anyone would want to take a chance on purchasing such as large quantity without knowing what they are receiving. She could actually make more money by selling by the slice because the loaves were a nice size. There were plenty of other items to taste but I was intrigued by the pumpkin butter and the fig. Both of these items were too sweet for me and I always reason that if one item is too sweet then all products will be off limits. That pumpkin butter had real possibilities and would be great on toast. However, that sugar definitely needs to be reduced so as not to upstage or even ruin the product.
