Meet the Business Owner

Nick H.

Business Owner

19-​year-​old Nick Hjelmgren began his employment career at the ripe age of 13. His first job was cleaning horse stalls at the Huffman Horse Center. On his 14^th Birthday, Nick began collecting carts at Carrs Safeway. From there he worked in the floral department where he began learning what customer service was all about.

Between the ages of 14 to 16, Nick raised chickens and ducks in the backyard of his parents Anchorage home. His business prospered, as egg sales were brisk. When Nick was 16 he began working at Olive Garden as a dishwasher to a prep cook. From there he worked at Fire Tap and the Hotel Captain Cook as a prep cook.

When Nick turned 18, he began working at Lithia Dodge in the service department. From there, he moved to the sales department and began selling new and used cars and trucks.

Nick graduated from South Anchorage High School in the spring of 2014. He then began working on creating Yukon Tea. Yukon Tea was founded in spring 2015!
