Peanut Farm

Stopped in for some late night grub and drinks. The food was great bar food (appetizers and burgers), beer was delicious, and the atmosphere was the best part! Really enjoyed the many TVs (especially having one at the table) and the friendly servers.

What’s that you say? You want sports, beer, and good food? Guess who is in luck… That’s right you!
Sports– there is literally a TV everywhere you look.
Beer– 2 bars with tons of seating to quick access to cold ones.
Food– boy have they stepped up their game. This place has certainly developed some consistent offerings. The pizza is thin, crisp, and on point. The nachos are solid. The burgers are juicy.
Ok… Now I’m in the mood for a cold beer and pizza. See ya there!

Stopped by for a late night snack on a whim. For whatever reason, I never think to go here. I was honestly expecting more of a bar experience.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the whole place. The atmosphere was very nice and the lights were dimmed just enough to enjoy the multiple tvs in the place.
The food was very good. If you love french fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and the like, I definitely recommend you try them out.
I know that if I was more of a sports fan, this place would definitely be somewhere I would go very regularly.

Typical late night greasy bar food. Which isn’t a bad thing but if you are coming for great memorable food then just don’t. But if you are looking for a quick bite late at night then I would come here. Nothing spectacular but it doesn’t claim to be. The fried pickles are excellent and the chicken strips are really good!

Great food, especially try the mozzarella sticks and their pizza… everything else I can’t complain about except that everything is pretty much very expensive except for the beers. I’m a regular and will continue going but I can’t give it five stars with paying those prices.

Cajun dry spice wings! YUM. Their bleu cheese dressing is also great. I had it to go this last time and still awesome. Their pizza is good also. I haven’t been there for breakfast in a while but it was always good. During Fur Rondy make sure to go ice bowling out on the creek. Lots of fun and you can say you competed at a Rondy event haha. I do like the old side better than the new part but that’s probably due to the fact that I have been going there so long I know what the older smaller peanut farm was like.

Best wings in town, voted by Anchorage Press definitely very good wings. Rest of their menu is pretty alright, can get very loud on busy nights. Our order was missing dressings, sour cream, sauces, utensils but our waitress got all of it quickly. Chili wasn’t that great, rib eye was very good, they made decent fries.
Overall it’s pretty good, definitely go for wings if you like them.

Great bar to watch sports. Service sucked. Food left a lot to be desired. Would go back to watch sports but if service was as bad as the last time it would be the last visit.

My colleague took me here to watch a football game after work, and I was very impressed! This place is more exciting than most of the places in Oahu… lots of huge screens, food was great, and service was great!

This is my kind of place. Low key, comfortable, good service, I like the food, and drink. Lots of butt sport activities on the many big screens. Great view of Campbell Creek on the east side. Old, and new sections with their own ambiance, or comfort level.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was like the kind mom used to make. We had breakfast, I have to say, I will be back!

I am a regular at the Peanut Farm. I am there every Sunday for breakfast to watch football. Lately however, the breakfast has been very sub-​standard! The omelette is often overcooked. And the overall the consistency of the quality is lacking immensely. Whoever is running the kitchen needs to be seriously talked to!
The menu for breakfast is also very limited which makes it hard to pick through and get anything descent off the menu. Lunch however seems to be a little better and the server, Noelle who runs the «Saints room» in the back always does a outstanding job with the service!

I usually come here to watch football games on Sundays. The place can be very crowded at times and you can sometimes be hard-​pressed to find a seat to watch your game. Luckily, the manager is always on hand to help you show a specific TV where the game is being held, but as for seating, that’s a different story. If your game doesn’t start at 9AM AK time, you will have to wait for the other customers to finish their game before you can find an available seat.
The servers here are friendly enough. We found a couple of seats next to a pool table converted into a dining table by having a tarp on the top to eat food while watching the games. Normally, it wouldn’t be my first choice, but the game was starting and I wasn’t in the mood to stand in the aisle waiting for someone to leave. Our server Renee was pleasant and brought out our drinks with a friendly smile. I told her I didn’t want to order food until five minutes before halftime just so I could focus on the game. She was more than understanding and didn’t give us a sense of urgency on when to order.
The issues I had when being seated at the pool tables is that when your game is being aired on one of the larger screens, the overhanging lights above the pool tables will obstruct your view if you’re sitting behind the pool tables. I had to move my chair several times just to get a decent view of the screen and away from the person seated in front of me.
The food was good, but it wasn’t great. It was a little bit on the pricier side as far as bar food goes, but this is probably a good idea for this place to make money when people get hungry during the game. I ordered the Yukon Burger with Canadian bacon, Swiss cheese, and BBQ sauce along with a side of potato fries. The fries were very delicious and came with a small cup of cinnamon butter for dipping. The burger was okay. The beef patty didn’t have a lot of flavor, but the Swiss cheese made it enjoyable. This is not really the kind of place I would go to on a regular basis if it wasn’t football season, but the Peanut Farm is still the premier place in town to catch a football game in a town that doesn’t have a lot of options on sports bars to choose from.

Popular spot but you have to beg for service. I ordered the Irish coffee and pineapple upside down cake. Irish coffee is 5 star but small for the price. Pineapple upside down cake tastes good but not fabulous –I’d say 3 star. Service of 1 star brings the rating down. I won’t return. Bonus is the deck seating is right by a beautiful stream. There’s nicer places but this is fine for a drink and a bite. My girlfriends rated their drinks good as well. A strawberry margarita, beer and wine. All decent drinks.

Awesome sports bar, with a beautiful setup next to the creek. It definitely specializes in bar food though – they had two or three healthy options in a special green box on the menu. I got one of them, the grilled salmon. It was a kinda wimpy piece of fish, overdone and with a bowl of reheated frozen cut carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. My friend got a BLT which looked much more on point. Service was good though, and again I really liked that creek.
There’s a little path that goes over the creek to one of those touristy Alaskan tchotchke and candy shops with a chocolate fountain that smells like crayons. On our way back to Peanut Farm, some bozo who probably had too much to drink was driving his pickup all crazy over curbs in the Peanut Farm parking lot, burning rubber and spraying dirt everywhere.

Peanut farm you’ve been good to us, but honestly you’re never my first choice. Definitely not the classiest place in Anchorage.
The old divey side is comfortable but most things seem to stick to me. Reminds me of a grandpa’s basement. Perfect place for a guy to spend football Sunday with his friends. Decent food, good beer list. Waitresses are quick to fill your cup with Joe.
The newer, remodeled side has more TVs and large projectors. An improvement for sure, but still a divey sports bar.
Hands down my favorite place to sit is outside on the patio! With Campbell Creek rolling by it can be a fun spot to grab beers with friends… but don’t forget your bug spray! Mosquitos are everywhere.

I have mixed feelings about the Peanut Farm. On the one hand, it occupies a beautiful and close-​to-​everywhere location. Campbell Creek running through the backyard is awesome, and on a nice summer evening the patio is second to none (maybe second to Snow Goose). I also appreciate that they let the poker players occupy the old section of the bar and the «Saints» room every Tuesday evening, when so many establishments in town are reluctant to do so. The vibe is very relaxed and welcoming to everybody: business-​people, college kids, families with children, etc. Finally, the new section (especially if all you want is beer and a TV) is a sports fan’s dream.
With all that said… if you don’t care what comes out of your kitchen, and you are too busy to clean the joint once in a while, and you shrug your shoulders at the infestation of flies buzzing around your clientele, then what’s the point of all the nice stuff I talked about earlier?
The problem, as I see it, is that the Peanut Farm has no incentive to make better food or clean the place up. Enough people are awestruck by the massive TVs and endless promos and special events that they file into the Farm regardless. There is also a section of Anchorage society that has been going to the old Peanut Farm for decades and has no intention of abandoning it any time soon. Congrats to the folks that own the place, they’ve created a successful business without having to bother with the details.

Great place. Good service and a varied menu with something for everyone.
Ample portions. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere riverside on the ‘old side’.
I have had the salmon platter here, but this visit shared a couple platters of wings. The Level 3 alarm is perfectly heated (too hot for most), but flavored deliciously. What good is a lot of heat unless there’s a lot of great flavor? Thankfully, both are bull’s-eyes with the wings regardless of the strength.
The ‘new side’ with all the big TVs is impressive with the way they have arranged the screens. It’s the sports fan temple and no other place can rival it for the view and setting.

It’s ok. Their breakfast isn’t great, but it’s not bad. They’ve whittled down to a bare bones breakfast menu on Sunday mornings for NFL football which is pretty lame. They have spent a lot of money on televisions on the new side of the bar, but neglected the old side, where many of us love to sit. The «Saint’s Room» is one of the best places to sit because it’s a smaller room with TVs in a circle around the room. It’s the easiest place to watch all the games.
However, that room is run by a rude, loud and obnoxious group of Saints fans that are disrespectful to those around them. There are definitely two classes of customers there, and you will be in the bottom class when you walk in the door. The big projector in the Saints Room cuts out every couple of minutes ruining the experience and there are two TVs in the corner that cut out constantly and are not even watchable. (I’m not even sure why they turn them on) There are a number of televisions that have serious color issues and just poor picture quality. They have too many TVs hooked up to too few connections and it shows.
Many areas of the bar are understaffed, and even though their staff works very hard, they are trying to do too much and stuff gets missed. One day I got offered nearly every piece of food that came out of the kitchen.
If you’re trying to watch your favorite game, good luck geting them to switch a TV close to you. They don’t have the best system for choosing which games are going to be on which TVs and the people that are making these decisions know very little about football.
Their pizzas are fantastic. They are a little on the pricy side, but they are worth it. Stone fired goodness.
Overall: If you are looking for a professional sports bar experience, with top of the line equipment, look somewhere else.

This is an a-​ok place. It’s a large sports bar with plenty of huge TVs. If you opt to sit at a table around the bar, there’s even a small TV at each table. So you’ll never miss a game here.
The bar area is large with ample seating. And then there’s booths all around the bar. Plus some tables, as well as tables in the «outside» area. The «outside» area is actually indoors, it’s just slightly separate from the bar area and has a pretty view.
The service definitely leaves something to be desired here. Order everything you want and ask for everything you may need the first time you see your server as it may be the only time you see him/​her. Even at the bar this is the case. They’ve never been crowded when I’ve been here, so I’m not sure what’s up with the inattentive service.
The beer offerings are meh. More than most sports bars, but lacking considering how many breweries there are in Alaska.
The menu is diverse, but pay attention to the times listed on each page. Most items are only available during certain time. Before 11am for breakfast and after 3pm for dinner.
The wings are pretty good. The meat itself is not the best quality. But they are cooked well. And the sauces are delicious and actually quite spicy. I like spicy and the 3 Alarm was good enough for me. I can’t even imagine what the 5 Alarm must be like. The default dipping sauce is blue cheese. It’s a very standard, run-​of-​the-​mill blue cheese. If you prefer ranch (or want both), you’ll have to ask for it. You can only choose one sauce unless you order 2 dozen, then you can choose two. However, special hint, if you don’t know which sauce you want, asking for some samples.
All in all, the items are overpriced, but the wings are worth it. The ambiance and vibe are super casual. And don’t expect actual service.
