Work Out World

Good gym had everything i needed and it was a good environment people telling me tips and stuff. Right now theyre remodeling it into a crossfit gym so this is the reason why Im going to cancel my membership. Overall it was a good gym imo. Cancellation is a pain in the ass too

I originally signed up with Work Out World December of 2013. Of course they made it sound picture perfect, provided towels to wipe off sweat. I signed a 2 year contract. Now, it’s May 2016 and no towels are provided and in the contract, I am being charged a fee for the laundry of those so called provided towels. The towels were not cleaned properly: smelly, dirty, and crusted on towels were provided. The gym has become very unclean and the machines have every accumulated dust! The men’s shower curtains even have mold! MOLD!!! Are you serious?! And now that when I call about my contract I am told, «I see you have payments until June 2017.» 1. I signed a TWO year contract! 2. If it was a three year contract, I signed up on December 2013! Not 2014! And even if they were counting January, it well should be January 2017 that I should be making payments. The classes have been cut down. The locker rooms are filthy! And the steam room isn’t even on! By far the worst gym I have ever been to. And there is never any employees to assist with any questions. And yet they have the brilliant idea to increase membership fees to current members because of the new wage increase to «accommodate.» There is not even an employee there!!! I would not recommend this gym to anyone!

This gym was great but ridiculous and sucks now. Rate was raised without proper notice it’s dirty and has broken equipment. Not sure if it’s the manager but an older gentalman will argue with u about the rates and use for minimum wage going up when they only have 1 employee while other have quit because all there employees were on call, not a set schedule with horrid hours. This gentleman will cus and use fowl language in your face telling u «go to another gym if u fucking want but I know why u fucking come here, because it’s empty!» as a manager myself I would never treat my clients in that manner. I would personally FIRE my employee if her ever talked down and rudely to a client.

By far the worst gym I’ve ever been to. I only stayed for 3 years because I had a $ 12 monthly membership. They raised my rates to $ 30/​monthly without notice. The manager TJ will argue with you on how their gym is «high end» and how people are leaving 24. He encouraged me to leave that gym to join 24 saying 24 is highly crowded while workout world is DIRTY! The soap is refilled maybe once a month without toilet trees in the bathroom. The treadmills are filthy was month old sweat and trash. All the bench pressss are off the screws that keep the foundation into the ground so they’re moving all over the place. There is hardly any staff scheduled there so if you have a problem good luck finding someone to complain to! I’m going back to 24 hour fitness for the same rate at $ 30 monthly. Workout world has AWFUL STAFF! FILTHY EQUIPMENT! And most of all horrible managed with the manager in denial about how bad the place is.

Go to chuze instead! You will be paying 20 bucks there for equipment that will actually work! Here I can’t say the same thing, they’re steam room has been not working for what it seems like forever. At least if they’re no gonna fix they’re equipment recompense your customer. I give this a negative 5 star

Not a bad gym to work out at. They have everything that i need. 3 squat racks, 2 flat bench, 2 incline bench, dumbbell goes up to 100lb etc. Machines are decent as well. Few problems that have been surfacing past few months (been a member for little more than a year) are that they have a really poor management. Towels are not there for most of the time, bathrooms are just disaster. Seems like no one takes care of it. I see staffs clean them occasionally but not often enough. Some days especially On weekends, no one even works there. As long as they put up the maintenance standard little higher, i have no complain yet. The best thing is that it never gets crowded even during the prime times (5−7pm). They dont mind using chalks or dropping weights as well.

Canceled my account 7 months ago just received mail saying I owe $ 88 and it has been sent to collections… Ow you guys are scum!

This will meet your basic needs for a gym just because the equipment is in good shape. But the gym is always dirty, the treadmills look like they are never wiped down or the stair master. You can tell when someone sweated all over it because the stains are all on there. Also this summer the AC was broken for what seemed like more then 2 months and they had fans all over the place, it was hot outside and even hotter in the gym. The only good employee they had Brian, is not there anymore.
Heads up do not sign up for this gym unless you want to sign your life away. You cannot cancel your membership unless you are disabled, death or move more than 25 miles. If you don’t fall in this category then the cancellation form says you may pay up to $ 100. So basically there’s a $ 100 cancelation fee they failed to tell me about when I signed up and ignored all the bad ratings.
Don’t make the same mistake I did.

I wish i could give this place negative stars. This business is a scam. They have a bunch of hidden fees and it is very hard to cancel. The manager is very rude. Please do yourself a favor, avoid this place. Planet Fitness is 2 blocks away, cheaper and nicer.

Hardly ever packed. Awesome staff. Bathrooms are very clean, machines are clean, and everything is organized. Love this gym!

I’m giving them Thema bad review because they trick you into sign in the contract saying you need to go to the gym and take your I’d to complete the application but if you sign it’s official you are stuck with making payments or just se ding you to collection. I tried to get this resolved because I’m in collections for the amount of 270 and that’s because they say I was enroll. And the staff it’s really rude when you try to resolved the problem specially Mallorie munoz. please don’t deal with this company.

Unlike La Mirada, this gym is much better as far as customer service goes! i couldn’t stand the gym in L. M, because of the customer service and that damn manager eunice! so unfriendly and rude! its ironic that the word «nice» is in her name…
i started coming to Anaheim gym a couple weeks ago, even though it’s a little out of the way, because one of my friends signed up here and told me how great it was. all new equipment, better and bigger free weights section, and amazing customer service. I haven’t had to complain about anything yet.
I love the fact that the black girl from la mirada transferred over to this gym. she is so nice and always helps me with my membership. she is very professional and has great customer service skills. I have changed my monthly plan a few times with her to add and remove people from my membership, and she’s never pushy and always tries to give me the best price!
if you ever want to sign up and not get tricked or lied to, go to her!!! I usually go around 7pm and she’s always there.
I wouldn’t recommend bringing your children. i’ve brought my little cousin in there once, around 7pm and the girl in there doesn’t do anything with the kids. its so noisy and dirty…
one down side to the gym is members always leave their weights all over the place, which is so annoying because you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the matching dumbbells.
if you’re concerned about the cancellation process or hidden fees, it’s all on the front page of your agreement. people giving bad reviews DON’T KNOW HOW TO READ. (=

I joined this gym last year while living in Anaheim. It was fine for what I was paying, no complaints on the cleanliness nor machines.
However, I moved to LA end of last year. The cancellation process was a nightmare! You must go personally and pick up a cancellation form at the gym, difficult to do when living in LA and they refused to email one. After going out of my way and wasting half a day to pick one up then going to the post office to get it mailed out and certified, I still get sent to collections!
Long story short, if you NEVER plan on cancelling it’s just fine. Otherwise, beware, I ignored all the bad reviews and now I am paying the consequence.

Gym is very dirty. Staff is not professional with some exceptions. I took a picture of a giant roach by the squat racks, roach must work out! I had a similar experience as AJ L when I attempted to cancel. I went to cancel my membership in December 2014 and I was given two options: 1) write a letter and they gave me the details to include therein, 2) stop by, pick up a cancellation form (which I am posting for your convenience), 3) mail it to corporate.
I elected to do the letter, as I was not local and not able to stop by and pick up the form. I asked them to email me the form and they would not. I was given a corporate address in New Jersey, but lo and behold the letter needed to have gone to La Mirada. It’s now March and I am still not cancelled. I am disputing my charges. Make sure you send your cancellation certified mail, I did. I fail to understand why companies choose to have these types of policies. Why does a company want this to be my last memory of them?

i would give this gym no stars if i could but i cant, this gym is false and scam i never thought this gym would be such a headache, When speaking to MARIO givin false information he said no charge will be taken from my card as long as i cancel within time, i called to cancel the girl at the desk was soo rude and when asking for the manager she give false statements shes the only one i cant cancel not even if i go to location we have to write a stupid letter and it will still take time in order to mail it out thru mail !! ive never had a problem with 24 hours gym ! i should of stayed there PLANET FITNESS IS WAY BETTER THAN THIS GYM

After seeing all the bad reviews of this place. I have to say something. I’ve been a member of this place for at least 2 years now. When I signed up, they had a flyer saying $ 9.99 and $ 3 for towels. Who doesn’t want that? You don’t have to bring towels with you when you work out. Not to mention I have no contract so I can pretty much cancel whenever I want, but why would I do that when you can’t really find $ 13.99 monthly gym membership now a days. That’s Atleast $ 10 less than 24 fitness or La Fitness. I mean if you’re only going to the gym to workout and not to play ball or swim then why pay $ 24 or more? I think that’s why those gym are so expensive, you’re paying for the courts or pool.
This place have great equipment and they are NEW. Not like La fitness or 24 fitness (I know because I used to be a member of those gym too). The seats at other gyms doesn’t really have that much cushion anymore or they are rusty and etc… So once again if you’re going to workout and just use the equipment or machines, why pay more.
I remember when I used to be a La fitness and 24 fitness member, that place gets pack any time of the day (like literally) unless you go really late or after midnight (but who works out at those hours) I’m not saying this place doesn’t get pack, but it only gets pack from the hours or 5−7÷8 on week days, but other than that this place is perfect.
Their staff are really nice and friendly. I never really had a problem with them since I signed up with them. Even tho you didn’t pay for training and you ask their trainers for suggestions or help, they help you even tho they are training someone, not to mention they also motivate you and push you.
So I don’t know why this place are getting such bad reviews when I never really had a problem with them and I’ve been with them for at least 2 years now. If you’re a college student and don’t really have extra money or wants to save especially when you just use the machine I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST WORKOUT WORLD. Your to go to employee’s name is BRIAN, he will surely help you out with anything.
P. S. _​_​_​_​all their cardio machines have tv, so you can watch news, shows, listen to music and charge your phones at the same time. Great way for distraction especially if you hate running those treadmills.

I had read the previous reviews on here when I first thought of signing up w this gym. And thankfully you all saved me!!! However, MARIO– as I know he’s very popular w these Unilocal reviews– managed to get me too.
First off, he’s super rude to me and says to me that if I have money to get «RATCHET» on the weekends and buy my nice car (I have a Black TL) then I should have money to go to the gym.
I told him I don’t even go out bc I’m busy working!!! Then he brought up my car…
Mind you– I have a current and very awesome relationship w 24 HR FITNESS– they’ve NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS TO ME!!!

Most deceptive business when dealing with contracts.
I signed up for 24 months with them and they put in there a re-​enrollment clause that automatically enrolls for new months that I didn’t know about when initially becoming a member of the gym. So basically it’s an unlimited contract. I’ve never had problems cancelling membership with any company but they insist that I must write a letter declaring my cancellation of the contract that’s supposed to expire 30 days in advance. Despite, my letter I have continued to be charged 2 months after the 24-​month period.
They are vultures that take your money and the personal training service is exactly the same. They add on fees for everything and suck the money out of your wallet. Definitely avoid. I’d rather jog at a park than use any of their equipment ever again.

I signed up for this awful gym before they had opened they lied to me and opened 4 months after they stated they would. We were all members of this gym for over a year and it has been a horrible experience.
After canceling they continue to call and just
Today months after canceling they call pushing me to come in and pay $ 84 fee for god knows what!!!
I was 14 years old when I signed their legal contract now I am 16 and they still call threatening to send to collection. I know for a fact Mario is part of this scam and contributes to raiding peoples accounts with hidden fees. NOT TO MENTION THE FIRST 4 months the SAUNA WAS DOWN.
THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS. I can write all day but this is just a short summary. I simply told him go ahead send to collection I was 14 when contract was signed see what they do.

Update: these guys continue to call me and last time they called decided they had the right to scream at me through the phone!

My husband and I moved into the area about a year ago and we decided to come join this gym because of their flyer.
Deal too good to be real? That’s right. Don’t believe the flyer at any cost.
The gym itself was okay. Most of the time it was clean, however, the wear and tear on these machines are already pretty bad for a fairly new gym.
The worst part about it is that they charge so many hidden fees and when you try to cancel, they take about 2 months to even process your paperwork. The paperwork has to be mailed in! you can’t just drop it off nor get a confirmation of cancellation until you call and call and call… Horrible!
Super bad experience… it was just a roller coaster ride where it ends at the bottom… shame on you WOW!
