Had dinner here for Father’s Day. I didn’t think this place was gonna be small but man it is really small. I counted all the tables and they have 11 total with each being able to hold a party of 4. I was seated right near the kitchen which was a little awkward but hey I’m here for the grub. My family ordered the seafood jajangmyeon, sweet & sour pork and garlic shrimp. I asked for a bowl of rice which they do provide since I have to have rice with meat. The jajangmyeon had shrimp, scallops, squid and mussels. It was on point. The sweet and sour pork came out with a big bowl of sweet and sour sauce with red peppers, carrots and onions in it. Having it like this was ok since most people don’t like their pork drenched in sauce but I like it when it’s already mixed but hey to each their own. The garlic shrimp was pretty good and I was surprised by the amount of shrimp they give you here. It’s ridiculously good that they give you a generous amount compared to most Chinese restaurants that would only give about half the amount and charge the same price this place does. Flavors were good and I would definitely order this again. Overall everything that we ordered here was pretty good and I would definitely come back here. Service was good as the Korean ladies served us quickly and the food came out of the kitchen fast. I would come back here again.

Not sure why this isn’t 5 stars. Probably the best jjam ppong I’ve ever tasted in my life! The filled with fresh seafood ingredients, chewy delicious noodles, hugmously large portions at a very affordable price. The staff is very unusually friendly for a korean place. The other items(jja jang myun and kkam poong shrimp) are just as good. Must go!

It used to be good but recently flavor has been changed. I always make it to go so not sure how is the service for dining in. I’ll give another try next time.

When you walk into a Korean restaurant and find that almost everyone inside is Korean you’re in the right place! The jjampong and jjajja myung is on point here! A lot of negative reviews about this place is regarding their service. I get it… but it’s a typical Korean family run business and its something I’ve gotten used to all my life.

Serving was a lot for one person but i think overpriced for the quality of food unfortunately volume or quantity of food does not meet the quality expectation. I dont mind paying for pricey food for so long as it is good. Ive definitely had a lot cheaper and tastier sweet and sour pork and beef fried rice.

It was my first visit. I had a white jjam-pong carry out. Great price with plenty of meat and the taste was decent, it reminded of one restaurant in my hometown Korea. I want to try tang-su-yook(fried-pork) next time.

Wanted to give a shot after reading many raving reviews. As others have mentioned, food was GREAT but charging 4 dollars extra for«to go(aka takeout)» was not cool. Also, they have enough space to dine if not for during peak hours. and yes their service a tad below average.

My first time here. I just walked in and they asked me how many? I said one and waiteress signals me to sit down as she separated a two part table as I am sitting down, «I said hello how are you?» Waiteress raises her arm and hand up and creates a stop signal with the palm in her hand as if I’ve gone too far or said too much for her to handle. I got up and turned around and left. Everyone there was Asian. Food looked REALLY good. I guess they don’t serve my kind. I was dress professional with a profession shirt, slacks, and shoes and a strand of pearls around my neck with a silk flower attached, but NOT Asian.

Contrary to other reviews, I think the service here is fine. They were polite and fairly responsive to us. I’ve had most of the popular menu items. They’re most known for their jjamppong. The white chili and regular ones are both pretty good. Lots of seafood and huge portions!(This applies to all of their dishes) Jjajangmyun is so-so. I’ve had better, but it’s not bad. More than the noodles I recommend the«sweet and sour pork»(tangsooyook) and the«garlic and pepper spicy chicken»(kkangpoonggi). The tangsooyook is very crispy and the sauce isn’t too sweet. Kkangpoonggi has a really good sauce. Not too overbearing or spicy. It’s not very crispy but the sauce makes up for it.

– I would give this place a 3.5 star if I can! The food is definitely really BOMB, one of my favorite Chinese Korean fusion restaurant but seriously, the space is so limited here that if you come during busy time, there probably won’t be a seat for you! The service also is not that great, I always grab extra napkins or more water on my own because the waitresses are always inside the kitchen or taking their time serving the food. PROS: –one of my favorite Chinese Korean fusion restaurants, their JAMPONG is very tasty and satisfying! It could serve two people but it’s common curtesy to order more right? –it’s not too pricey! Some Chinese Korean restaurants are hella expensive for no reason. This place is always average: 4 dishes for $ 40 plus tip so we always pay $ 47. –family friendly food, there’s honestly so many varieties of dish that everyone can enjoy what they want!(I also like their kungpao shrimp or bokum jajangmyun) CONS: –not a very customer friendly place, I would like to call this place a «self serve» place sometimes because it’s a bit slow –limited space! People wait a long time for this place, there are only about 10ish or less tables inside the place itself which obviously won’t fit that many people(go at about 2 or 3 for lunch rather than dinner) Overall, the food is great but the service is sadly not! But 3 is average just like this place, would recommend for lunch!

If you want the real Korean-Chinese style of jjampong, this place is the bomb. Not the best but among better ones. I ordered t extra spicy jjampong and it really was spicy to my stomach! Avoid the peak meal times as this place gets packed quickly as the restaurant has very few tables and its enviornment is not that good. Florescent lights everywhere and place not that well maintained. But all in all it’s worth trying snd judge their food yourself! Oh btw, their portion is pretty big. Order few and share!

I had White Chili JjamBong. The portions are huge. And I think the white chili broth tastes much better than the red ones. And their noodles are chewy. I love their Sweet and Sour Chicken. It’s crispy, perfect bite size, and the sauce comes separately.

Food = 5 stars Atmosphere = 3 stars Service = 4 stars For their food, definitely go for the seafood jjampong or seafood jjajangmyun! They are seriously loaded with seafood and the portion is huge(enough to share between two people!) Not only do they have generous ingredient and portions, I really like their broth and sauce, which makes me crave their dishes once in a while! Price point is also excellent for both dishes which makes me love Wok Holic even more. I also tried tried their special abalone seafood jjampong, and while it was tasty, didn’t think it made a huge difference with their regular seafood version other than the two abalones on top. As for their plates, they are decent. Definitely not outstanding but not bad. Place is small & kind of hectic and there is usually a wait but it is worth your time to wait because their food makes up for it!

my review is based solely on the food. not the service. if service was factored in, they would probably get a solid 3 stars. after a long day at disneyland on valentines day we decided to stop in to try out their jjam bbong. i’ve heard a lot of good things about the jjam bong and what better way to end the day than with some delicious seafood broth! the restaurant upon arrival was jam packed. but we put our names on the list and waited. and watched in envy as everyone kept shoving delicious looking foods into their mouths. the wait ended up being about 40 minutes. and by then it was nearing their last call at 8:30 so they asked us and another couple if it would be okay for them to seat us together. ensue awkwardness. we sat there with the older korean couple when the boyfie tried breaking the silence with a «happy valentines day». we giggled uncomfortably. i sat there contemplating what to do next, when a table opened up and they offered to move us! hot diggity! we got an order of the jjam bbong, jja jang, and tang soo yook. tang sook yook came first. sauce comes on the side. and it was delicious. jja jang came, took a bite and i was like meh, decent, but as i kept chewing it was like, wait a minute… this is actually pretty darn good… WAIt. this is kind of delicious,!(btw, no meat in the jja jang) ANDTHEN the glorious jjam bbong arrived. piping hot, with loads of seafood. took a sip of the soup, sat back and smiled. we finished pretty much everything. no shame. now, onto the service. basically, there is no service. they do what they can to get you seated, your food ordered and delivered and that’s about it. they have no system. they don’t assign tables to one another, so basically if a table looks like they might need something, and one of the ladies decides they care enough to check on you, then that’s your service. if you need water, you’ll have to yell out or raise your hand and ask for it, and after that you’re on your own. if you can fathom that, and accept that you’ll have to sacrifice service, for yummy food, then you’ll enjoy this place.

This place makes AMAZING jjampong(spicy seafood noodles). And that’s pretty much it. Their jjajangmyun(black bean noodles) I felt was pretty forgettable. They also have stir-fried versions of jjampong and jjajangmyun that come out on big platters but if you’re coming here, you’d better just stick to their specialty which is the jjampong. They don’t skimp on the seafood ingredients for the jjampong. There are generous portions of squids, clams, mussels, crab, jumbo shrimps, along with an abundance of veggies. The hot spicy broth is super addictive. They put a lot of peppers so you’ll want to remove some if you can’t take the heat. This place usually has a wait during dinner time. You can see bunch of Korean fobs, especially the older ones hanging out waiting to be seated. They just don’t have enough tables/seats to meet the demand, but I say wait and eat it here instead of taking it to go. You can also ask your bowl of noodles to be halved so that you don’t have do split it yourself. I think the name confuses a lot of people, especially non-Koreans into thinking they should come here and order white people Chinese food like fried rice and orange chicken but again, stick to the speciality and order the jjampong. You won’t be sorry and you’ll thank me later! And if you’re looking for Chinese fast food, I highly recommend you go elsewhere. This is a Korean-Chinese fusion style restaurant.
