Unique Alterations

I have been coming to Unique Alterations ever since moving to Anaheim Hills. I’ve always been satisfied with the quality of their work. My clothing had always been ready for pick on the designated day. I highly recommend Unique!

Wife called to get an idea of pricing and lady was rude and had no interest in wanting to help. Never been or had work done but that phone call turned us away. First impression is very important.

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years for all of my alterations. The owner Andrew is awesome and always does a great job. But the last time I brought a dress in to have the waist taken in, I had the owners wife do the measurements/​alterations. She seemed to be irritated while helping me. Then I went back to pick up my dress, I tried it on and it fit very poorly and unevenly. I couldn’t get the dressed fixed in time for my event so I had to borrow a dress from a friend. And my dress is still just sitting in my closet. In the past I’ve had great experiences with the owner (Andrew) being very friendly and great at alterations but his wife seems rude and doesn’t care about the customer as much. For that, I give it 3 stars. I’m a little scared to take anything expensive there in the future.

I used to go regularly to have clothing altered. Dealing with the owner’s wife was never a pleasant experience (liked when I got the owner himself) but tailoring was fine and convenient. After a few unpleasant dealings with the wife, I finally went somewhere else. I recently tried to «give-​them a go» just because of convenience and boy was I sorry! Got the wife and totally remembered why I stopped going!!! Done and never again!!!

Best tailor EVER! I have been going to Andy for 15 years. He is the best and can do anything want done to your clothes. He is the friendly man I have ever met and the most accommodating. I have referred friends, family and colleagues. I trust Andy with anything and recently did an Amazing job on my SIL wedding dress that she loved!
Thank you for everything Andy, you are truly a class act!

I brought a very cute romper in to be altered recently and had to update my review (which was already great) to say how much I love the new location! Even better energy & a great space! This new location has quite a few very roomy changing areas that have hangers, benches, mirrors, & locks!

I have been going to Andrew for all my alteration needs since I was in highschool. He has never let me down! Whether it’s my dresses or jeans, hemming or patching, he gets it right every time!

I’ve been coming here for 20 years and have always received great work and very friendly service from Andrew. I wouldn’t take my clothes anywhere else to be altered after so many years of great service.

I have been a great customer to them and have sent lots of family and friends to get alterations as well.
A little while back, I dropped off my daughters dress to get altered. It needed to be taken in at the sleeveless straps and the waist to make the dress smaller. He said he had to charge me x amount of dollars because the dress had to be taken apart. I picked up the dress when ready and realized with just a glance that it was never take apart. The sleeves were pinched amount an inch and sewed across. Waist was done the same. I have a sewing machine at home and could have done this myself in a couple of minutes, what made me upset is that he specifically told me I have to «take it apart» and used that reason to charge me so much. I have sent them a lot of business and ignored little things that I didn’t agree with, but the job was always done on time and well. I haven’t returned since the incident and don’t think I will be.

The work is fine and I like the owners suggestions. I can NOT stand the wife, she is rude and out right disrespectful. I wish I didn’t have to deal with the woman. If her attitude was better I’d have given this place 4 stars.

I’ve been using Unique Alterations for over 10 years. Their work has been very good. But the owner’s wife is insufferable and does nothing to show she wants your business. Therefore, after getting screwed by her over a 20% coupon for the second time, I will take my business elsewhere. Be warned if you have to deal with her.

My boyfriend gets all his tailoring done here and they do an amazing job! His shirts always end up being perfectly fitted in addition to his suits. They are very pleasant and the prices are very reasonable! We wouldn’t go to any other tailor!

Never ever go to them!!! First time they made a mistake by cutting my daughters expensive swim track suit pants when I specifically said do not cut when hemming. Then I brought in a baptismal gown that I have used for each of my children (3) and asked them to change out the buttons and embroider my daughters name and date of baptism in same size and color they did the other times. I brought it in a week in advance and he asked when I needed it. I know I specifically said by Friday since the baptism is on Saturday morning. When I went to pick up on Friday he was very rude and told me I said Saturday and that he didn’t have it. He had sent it out and said he could give me address to go get it. Sorry but with 3 young kids I don’t have time to go somewhere else. We finally were able to pick up at 9pm but he had thrown the other buttons away which I keep to have something special for each kid to pass down to use for something and the color and size were different,

They do not deserve a star.. The man Andrew should not be in business. The rudest man I ever met. I really regret going there. It would not happen again. Please people. If you have respect for yourself. Stay away from that store. The 1 star is because I cannot post it with out s star.

I’m surprised that this place has as many negative reviews as it does. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I’ve come here so many times with the strangest requests and Andrew is always able to do whatever I ask. He’s sewed a hood on a different jacket for me, cut out a design on one shirt and sewed it on a smaller shirt. He’s taken in my dresses and his work is always amazing. I would definitely recommend this place, they have a quick turn around time too.

Quality seems fine, but in my opinion, a week turnaround for a simple alteration seems too long. Prices seem reasonable if you have a coupon.
Also, I was not greeted with a smile and in my opinion, the entire experience was not a pleasant one. I won’t be going back.

If I could give negative stars I would. My mom bought her dress for my wedding and took it here to get it altered. My mom tried on the dress previously at the department store as well as in front of me, my sisters, cousins, and close extended family. Not once did we see any imperfections on the dress. My mom and sister went yesterday to get it hemmed. They chalked it, pinned it, manipulated the dress, and made her walk while wearing the dress to see if the length was good. Forward to today, got a message saying that there is a material issue with the dress and to come in. My mom and sisters came in and boy was the issue very noticeable and big! They claimed it was an imperfection of the dress and they had nothing to do with it. My question is how can they not notice the large 8 inch snag while taking initial measurements or even when performing the alteration and only noticing it when they were finished?
And to top it off the wife (assumption) was rude, irrational, and all things negative… I bet she did it.

They have done great work for my wife and I. I get all my suits altered, as I cannot buy off the rack, and they have done excellent work on all of them for the past ¾ years.

I have been coming here for several years and Im pretty happy with the service they know me and always know how I like my clothes to fit. my only gripe is the prices which are a bit high compared to other places. but they always have your things ready when they say they will and always fix issues when you are NOT happy. They always keep my clothes fitting my curves perfectly so that I can keep on looking like a curvy goddess… lol thanks andrew!.. also they have great
coupons which are good to use so look for them. or ask them about where to get them.
also you shouldnt worry about bringing in your designer items. I have brought in many nice dresses. fancy jeans. bebe dresses, jackets, formal wear they take the utmost care with all things you bring in. check them out!

TODAY IS A VERY SAD DAY… My family, myself and my boyfriend have been coming to Andrew for the past 7 years. He’s always done a great job but recently, his work has been SLOPPY and not as precise as it used to be (I think it’s because he doesn’t do all the work like he used to – his employees in the back do some of it but he always says he’s the one doing everything).
One instance that he’s been sloppy was when my boyfriend had brought in his suit coat to replace a missing button on the left sleeve. He asked to replace the buttons on both sleeves to black so they may match. Simple enough — match black buttons on both sleeves and they charged him $ 20 which is totally fine since he thought Andrew would do a good job. I picked it up and the buttons were gold. Andrew apologized and said he will change it to black for no charge. I picked it up the following week and the buttons were black, but now the sleeves were sewn shut which was not how it was when we left the coat with Andrew — so if my boyfriend wanted to unbutton the sleeves, he wouldn’t be able to. In a calm manner, I told Andrew that the sleeves were sewn shut when they should not have been. He got very upset with me and instantly began arguing that he did not sew the sleeves shut. I was talking to him in a calm manner and letting him know that the sleeves have never been sewn shut before we dropped it off with him and he was insistent on arguing with me saying that he did not do this and he is the only one that sews in the back. But this jacket has been in their possession and we’ve never gone to any other tailor other than Andrew so we know for a fact that he or one of his employees in the back had sewn it shut and he was just trying to cover it up. He then went on saying that he could not have done this because he only charges $ 6 for replacing buttons. I told him that he charged me $ 20 so he and his wife demanded that I show them the receipt. I showed them the receipt and it said $ 19.90 for button. Andrew then got quiet and said he would fix the sleeves but would charge me the full $ 30 to undue the sewn sleeve. I was shocked when he said he was going to charge me $ 30 to undo what they messed up on. I decided to not have him do the work and we will not go back there because of the LACK OF RESPECT THEY HAVE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. I was not trying to argue with Andrew or his wife (his wife is always rude). I only wanted to get the jacket fixed properly since it was their mistake but they insisted that I was a liar about the cost of the charge and the work that was done by them. Very sad to see what this tailor has become.
