My order with Kristin was so easy and the cakes turned out perfect. I am not from the area, but needed 2 cakes for my kids’ birthday celebration at Disneyland. I contact at least 10 bakeries for the order and she was definitely the easiest to communicate with. The price range was also affordable. I needed the cakes delivered to a restaurant near Disneyland which she accommodated with a low deliver fee. It goes a long way when communication is easy and you can trust your order will be fulfilled as discussed.
The cakes were delicious but at the same time very pretty to look at! Her cakes helped make my kids’ birthday celebration even sweeter.

Looooved working with this bake shop for my brother’s 30^th birthday! I wanted PushCakes for the favor bags I was making for the party and Kristin worked with me to make sure I received exactly what I wanted. She sent me sample labels until I found one I liked and also agreed to make more when my guest list increased. Additionally, she had her husband hand deliver the PushCakes to my home the night before the party while I was work because my schedule was crazy before the party. She is very easy to work with. And the PushCakes were a big hit! They were delicious and adorable! Thank you so much for such a positive experience!

I booked them a week before my baby shower, she got back to me in the same day with a quote and I quickly made a payment via paypal. She delivered to the even on time and everything was perfect! Everyone was asking me for information since they loved her cupcakes! I will use again and again!

Best Cupcakes EVER!!! I have had several flavors of their cupcakes and each one has been amazing!
I even had a shipment sent to North Carolina for my mother’s birthday and my mother went on and on about how good they were.

Meringue Bake Shop offered up their sinfully sweet treats at Soho Taco’s Video Première Party last night. I happily, and regretfully :(, helped myself quite a few times to the offerings available.
The trademark Push Cakes — What a novel idea! Who needs utensils, a plate & napkins when I can just stuff my face directly? The Push Cakes were almost too cute to eat, but I chose the chocolate/​chocolate & devoured it like the pig that I am. The cake was moist, creamy & chocolate-​y. Tres bien! I couldn’t wait to eat my Push Cake before taking the pic, thus the half-​eaten status here–
Triple sampler — Small bites mean less calories, right? Even if I have another one or four? ;P These plates had tres leches, what I believe were shortbread & either pumpkin pie or apple tarts. Tres leches = heaven! Oh, I loved these bad boys. I could eat a giant-​sized wedding cake of Meringue Bake Shop’s tres leches. It would kill me, but why not pass away on a sweet note? I kid, of course. Not to be left out, the shortbread & the pumpkin pie/​apple tarts were great in their own right. It’s just the tres leches was the «belle of the ball» for me.
Meringue Bake Shop, thank you for raising my hemoglobin A1C last night ;) I loved all the complimentary bites you graciously offered us. I do hope that Push Cakes take off and I must order your tres leches cake. My birthday was in August, but I can always celebrate next year’s early, right ;P

Everyone LOVED the cakes! I totally recommend Kristin and her husband! She is so cool and sweet! Not to mention she can bake!!! Oh and she made the cutest labels for our push cakes and I just fell in love with them!

I have to say that this bake shop is honestly one of my favorites. I have a major sweet tooth and I truly think that these cupcakes are the best in Orange County. I have tried Sprinkles Cupcakes-​way too dry and not sweet enough. Casey’s Cupcakes-​way too rich to the point that you can’t finish your cupcake. Meringue Bake Shop– JUST RIGHT. They are not to sweet to the point that you are not able to finish, but just sweet enough that you satisfy your craving!
I used to get a bunch of push cakes for the kids I nanny for since it was perfect to throw in a purse and go when walking around. I also would get fun flavors for the BF to try like the breakfast one-​maple and bacon. He couldn’t get enough of them! I am a fan of the sweet and salty and the chocolate raspberry.
I just wish that Meringue would have a brick and mortar store so I could go anytime!

Meringue Bake Shop has pretty much ruined all other cupcakes for me.
Before I had ever had one of their desserts, I was pretty easy going about cupcakes. They’re all pretty much the same, right?
NO.
Meringue Bake Shop cupcakes are moist and flavorful. From the standard chocolate fare to more adventurous concoctions, every single flavor I’ve had (a lot. I’m not kidding. I have a serious addiction.) is chock full of amazing deliciousness. AND the perfect ratio of cupcake to frosting — not too much, not too little. Just right!
Kristin and Lyle are a great husband and wife team with fabulous customer service, and I would recommend their fabulous desserts to absolutely everyone. Meringue has baked cupcakes for two of my parties now, and I just can’t say enough nice things about them.
Also! I designed custom invitations for my son’s 1^st birthday party, and Meringue Bake Shop created a 3d cake topper featuring the bear character I designed. It was amazing, and every morning my son loves saying hi to that birthday bear sitting on his dresser!

This review is overdue. Way long overdue. Last year, we had two events with Meringue Bake Shop’s cupcakes and both times, the cupcakes were a huge hit! For our joint Birthday Bash event, Kristin brought an astonishingly adorable custom made cake for Anita L., Holly W., Bobby N., and myself! Needless to say, her cupcakes were the most popular items that night!
Although I do not have a single sweet tooth, I actually LOVE Meringue Bake Shop’s cupcakes, especially the Red Velvet and the Salted Caramel. The cupcakes are not cloying sweet and tastes of quality and real ingredients. This year, I’m dying to host our Valentine’s event featuring wine and cupcake tasting. Of course, the only source I would trust and recommend to our customers for moist and delicious cupcakes is Meringue Bake Shop.
On a side note, I wish she could make Cake Pops in addition to her signature PushCakes. I love the idea of a cake on a stick but without too much packaging. Also, if I may suggest making the mini cupcakes slightly larger.
Although they don’t have a brick & mortar location yet, you can find them at the Irvine Great Park (Sundays) & Old Town Orange Farmers Markets (Saturdays). I can’t wait for them to open up shop so I can just pick up those cupcakes whenever I need/​crave them!

Maybe not very nutritious but it’s Oh-​so Delicious! The cupcakes are great! They have a stand at OC Great Park every Sunday. They had a special of 2 cupcakes for $ 6 so we tried the Bacon & the Red Velvet. I was gambling by risking the bacon, but they described it as «eating pancakes with a side of bacon.» And by golly, yes it did taste like I was eating my favorite type of breakfast! Fell in love right away. Red velvet cupcake is also amazing! Soft cushion-​y red cake, and a soft smooth white frosting. Yum-​O
I’m a die-​hard sweet tooth, and I just found my supplier. =)

After visiting a ton of bakeries and taste testing what seemed like a thousand cupcakes, I settled on Meringue Bake Shop to do the cupcakes for my daughter’s 2^nd birthday party. We ordered 6 dozen cupcakes, in a mix of the flavors Tea Time, Spring Break, Boys/​Girls, and Campfire. We also got a six inch cake for the top of the cupcake tower (which they had available to rent to us for the party) in the Happy Birthday flavor.
The cupcakes and the cakes were delicious. I mean, seriously very, very good. My personal favorite was the Tea Time, but really, they were all excellent. The cake was beautifully decorated. The desserts and the stand were delivered to the birthday party venue, and they were even flexible enough to pick up the stand from me while I was at an appointment in Orange! I would definitely order from them again.

I purchased these cupcakes today from the OC Great Park farmers market. I wasn’t impressed. I really really wanted to like them, but they just didn’t do it for me.
I bought the cookie dough and red velvet, both were decorated very cute.
The red velvet was the better of the two, but you could barely taste the cream cheese in the frosting. Cream cheese frosting is my absolute favorite, so I was sad when the taste was almost non existent.
The cookie dough was just weird. The cake had no flavor and the frosting was confusing. I know the dollop of cookie dough on top is supposed to enhance the flavor, but it was distracting.
Overall I wasn’t impressed and even at $ 2.50 each they seemed overpriced.

I love cupcakes. If a new cupcake shop pops up, I’m there. I must say that Meringue makes some really tasty cupcakes. I tried their red velvet and it’s really good. The frosting is not two sweet with just the right blend of creaminess. The cake was moist and delicious too. Check them out at the Great Park Farmer’s Market on Sundays! I bought 2 cupcakes for $ 5. I have yet to try the other one (eggnog cupcake) but I’m sure it’ll be great.

Everything was perfect and a huge hit. Everyone ranted and raved about the Life is a Cabernet cake. The cake was completely demolished by the end of the day. That’s certainly a testament to your phenomenal baking skills. I have also passed out your information to a few interested people. We truly appreciate working with you!

I contacted Kristen for cupcakes for my sister’s birthday party. She provided a contract in which date, time, event location were correct. Requested payment prior to the event — fine. All sounds very professional so far, so I felt good about my selection based on previous Unilocal reviews. She was supposed to deliver the cupcakes between 6:30P and 7:00P. At about 7:15P I was becoming increasing concerned. I tried calling her at least 5 times. When she finally called back, she explained she had the wrong date and had my event for the following. I reminded her that the contract which she created had the correct date. To that a flat «I’m sorry». It was more of a oh well, too bad. When I inquired how does she run a legitate business this way, her response «I’m busy». After much distress she mentioned, well I have some cupcakes for the Farmer’s Market I can deliver in about an hour.
This woman is not a professional business woman. Her cupcakes were that of a $ 1.25 grocery caliber, not the $ 2.50 to $ 2.90 gourmet type you would expect for the price she charges. Very mediocre. Unless you don’t care what day your cupcakes arrive and you prefer the type you can buy at your local Albertson’s, I would say run don’t walk away from Meringue Bake Shop. She really know nothing about how to run a business and the pictures on her website are very deceiving from what you can expect. If I could give her a negative four stars I would.

I had tried Meringue Cupcake few months ago at Connect OC Event where they had a demo sample thing. I tried their Sweet and salty Caramel cupcake, and fell in love with it at the very first bite. We learnt that they dont sell to individuals, unless you order 70 $ worth of stuff and they target mostly events and catering. Now that doesnt interest us does it! We were like whatever! But my friend did recognize them as some of the best cupcakes for the moist cake, and extremely tasty frosting.
A week ago, when OC Great park in irvine, started a farmers market here on sundays, guess who shows up. Meringue Bake Shop now sells their cupcake at the farmers Market. the first week it was 3 $ a cake. This weekend, it was 2 for 5 $s. That is not bad.
What did I try:
1. Orange Crush — tasy.
2. Red Velvet — mmmmmmm… yummy! tasty! yummy!!! so moist, so velvety!
3. Sweet & Salty — this is my favorite. I like saltiness in my sweets. this works perfect. The frosting is rich, the the cake like all their cake is very moist!
4. Hot Tamale — I neer tried hot tamale candy, but this one had a strong cinnamon /​salt flavor to it. very good and very different.
They have many other varities, and I am planning on doubling up my yoga and try few other varieties this weekend!
Its a family run business, they are barely just getting started with selling to individuals and stuff. So i am intrigued by the idea of supporting a cool business like theirs. The cupcakes are the most moist cupcakes i had tried, so i think they deserve 5 stars!
They dont have stores anywhere, and farmers market is the only way to try them on sundays. if you can afford order tons for 70 $s. :)

now that these cupcakes are available from the Great Park Farmers Market in Irvine every Sunday, I’ve become a crazed sweet-​toothed person who, if, I can’t make it there, will send my friends there to pick some up for me.
I’ve had their cupcakes 2 weekends in a row now starting last week when they started there. I’ve tried:
Red velvet — these are so good I even eat the frosting
Orange crush — winner at the OC Cupcake Fest, love the orange flavor, the frosting is a tad sweet for me though
Vegan pumpkin — I liked this one, can’t taste that it’s vegan
Hot tamale — not spicy like the hot tamale candy itself, but the cinnamon gives you that hot tamale aftertaste in a very subtle way
Sweet & Salty — positively one of my favorites — the sea salt caramel makes this cake oh so delicious.
Again, I can’t stop re-​iterating how moist these cupcakes are. I had an Orange Crush in the fridge for an entire week and it was still moist. I don’t know how she does it.
These are the king of cupcakes except the baker is a gal so I guess, QUEEN!

YUMMY YUMMY!!! AND they look simply fabulous! The price is very affordable, so u don’t have to go brankrupt just to have some yummy cake!
I found Meringue Bake Shop by searching online for OC cupcakeries to cater my wedding and boy am I glad I did!
the founder of the company, Kristin is very sweet and pleasant to work with; we met up a coffe shop for the tasting and after just one bite into «Tea Time» I was in Love! The tasting box had four different flavors, «Southern Belle», «Tea Time», «Spring Break» and «Crush» and I honestly cannot say which one was my favorite!
But I didn’t want to have too many flavors at the reception so I had to anrrow it down to first three.
The cool thing also, Kristin agreed to personalize them by sprinkling purple colored coconut tomatch my wedding colors =)
There were a HIT at the wedding! People were asking (more like begging) to take some home at the end of the night!
My mouth is watering just by writing this review and remembering how yummy they were…

Visually, these are super cute cupcakes. They were delivered to my business today for the fair price of $ 10 in a neat box with special cupcake inserts. Clever!
For the tastebuds, VERY flavorful. The owner recommended two flavors and they are explosions of taste! One has a pink lemonade frosting with a fresh raspberry on top and white cake. YUM! The other is a dark chocolate cake with a cinnamon frosting and a hot candy on top. Wow! Big flavor.
Very impressive!!!
Oh! This is a woman owned business and ya’ all know how I LOVE that!!!
