Marceline’s Confectionery

I visited this shop at about 7PM this past Wednesday night. Despite the expensive Disney price I am all for Disney treats if they’re cute & shaped like characters or in pretty packaging. I can put down a lot of money for this stuff even if it’s kind of ridiculous, not going to lie. I’m a sucker for Mickey shaped anything! ^_​^ It’s a small store but I liked the old fashioned candy shop vibe. I needed to get some gifts for people so I ended up with a few things… a box of diamond edition assorted chocolate, chocolate covered honeycombs, a caramel covered apple, & a diamond edition minnie apple. About $ 40 for the four items.
Three things that made this experience unpleasant. First, I was in line & the line was confusing. I talked to a lady in the back who grabbed the apples for me but didn’t say anything about if she’d be my cashier or if she was passing it along to the cashier… then next thing I know people who were behind me were already at the cashier. It’s not a super big deal, I’m chill, I wasn’t in a hurry but when I voiced that I was a bit confused (the guy was helping the person behind me without even acknowledging me so I thought maybe he skipped me so I just made him aware that I was there & I was next in line… but I was calm when I said this) the guy at the cashier (there were two guys) told me that the line was a bit weird but he knew that I was next. This was fine but the way that he said it had a «calm down» vibe … it was one of those annoying moments where you’re calm but someone is telling you to calm down … I wasn’t annoyed or angry but after that tone of voice I became annoyed.
Next I asked my cashier if they had the honeycombs in dark chocolate instead of milk. With a «mehhh» kind of tone he answered «Sometimes we do, sometimes we don’t.» They checked for me & didn’t have them. which was fine but I was starting to pick up on the bad mood of the cashier.
Finally, I asked my cashier to give me an extra small bag. This dude, not smiling, not pleasant at all just said, «WHY», in a SUPER rude & blunt tone of voice as if I was asking for a huge favor. Is it really so hard to figure out why I would need an extra little plastic bag? People buy gifts for people all of the time & ask for extra bags… & having dropped a lot of money for just a few items I don’t think it’s asking for much to want an extra plastic bag. & also where is that famous Disney cast member training I hear so much about? WHY? How about why do you need an extra bag ma’am or I’m sorry but we can’t give extra bags … I don’t get mad over little things but I abhor bad attitudes. I got the extra bag (which was actually too small & in the end useless because nothing I bought fit into it… they totally missed the point even after I explained that it was to separate the treats as a gift) but I was made to feel bad for asking. I’m a huge Disney lover & now that I live closer I see myself coming a lot… but if those two are working I will not stop into the shop, I’ll get my treats inside of Disneyland instead. Thanks for making me feel like crap for a moment there… on my birthday vacation. It never ceases to amaze me how the easiest things such as basic manners & communication are so hard for some people.

I just finished my Valentines day gift Candy Apple from Marceline’s Confectionery. I am sad that I ate it all and can’t mail order it to NYC. Don’t miss this place. Pure deliciousness and unadulterated joy for the kid in all of us.

This is your last chance to grab some of those tasty Disney sweets before you leave Anaheim. If you don’t have an annual pass and can’t just run inside the parks, this is the place for you. You can grab a Mickey shaped apple or rice krispy treat. Before I left, I made sure to grab a chocolate drizzled, covered in mini m&m’s rice krispy treat. So worth the wait. There was a line, but it flowed within 5 mins of waiting.

I love coming here for cute and tasty treats. The rice krispies and caramel apples are good. The workers are usually friendly. I would only rate this place with 4 stars because it is pricey for what you are getting. Expect to pay about $ 6 – 12 a treat.

Geez. who doesn’t love Disney’s caramel with nuts candy apples? And their apple pie candy apple? Although I do break off the marshmallow ears & toss those (I’m not a fan of marshmallows). As a Disney pass holder, we visit the park quite frequently & always go home with at least two candied apples. With your pass & ID, there is a discount at the store. I feel like three stars is reasonable, I thought about four but while standing in line & looking at the candy filled glass jar décor way up high on their back wall. I noticed they were really dusty.

I always find myself walking around Downtown Disney and unconsciously stopping in my steps to stare at the workers at Marceline’s Confectionery working on candy apples behind the window. From realistic Spiderman web designs to cute Minnie Mouse ears, they look too pretty to eat!
I finally went in one day and succumbed to my candy apple craving. But honestly, they are indeed so pretty you should never eat them. Besides being around nearly 10 dollars a pop, it has sugar coating that does not complement the tartness of the granny smith apple inside. It gets worse — I wanted to eat the candy apple right then and there, but I was shooed away and told that they do not cut candy apples. What kind of candy apple place doesn’t provide this service?! My facial expression said it all, so the worker gave me a butterknife. How helpful. Any forks? «No, we don’t have forks here either.»

Spending over $ 100 per person (there’s 4 of us) to get into 1 theme park isn’t really my idea of fun. Especially, on a weekend when lines are even longer. But, we did want a little bit of Disney on this trip, so we headed to Downtown Disney instead. No agenda, no itinerary, no stress! Perfect! Just casually strolling thru and window shopping. One of the shops was Marceline’s.
To be honest, I wasn’t even planning to go to this place. But, I was outside eating some pizza and saw the storefront. There were a bunch of people on the outside looking thru a few windows. I was wondering what all the hub-​bub was about. Well, they seemed to be making some beautifully-​decorated candied apples. I figured I would walk in and see what else they had. When you walk in, you notice these beautifully made desserts in the display cases. Yes, they had the candied apples. But, they also had other desserts like marshmallow treats, chocolate-​covered marshmallows, cookies, and of course, the obligatory cupcakes. Around the shop, they had tons of other Disney-​themed treats, such as popcorn and candy. I’m GUESSING that these are just standard snacks, but repackaged with pictures of Mickey or Princesses, just so they could charge a markup. If people will buy it, why not, I guess. Not this guy, though. Just window shopping…

Their candy apples matched my Minnie ears. Totally made me feel like a kid in there.

A tradition for me after a long day of standing in line at Disneyland and before I return to the real world and a sensible diet.
I have had their chocolate covered marshmallows, candied apples and such, but the star for me at any sweet shop is the cookies.
Marceline’s are good. Not artisanal but still delightful to my discerning palette. Full of Disney Magic and weighing half a pound each it seems. The dough is basic bitch. No grass fed butter and imported vanilla to be found. Simple unbleached flour, cane sugar and waves of luscious milk chocolate that will sure to delight if you are a cacao lover, plus toffee bit surprises throughout.
Turn back the hands of time, be young at heart, and enjoy your cookie.

Super yummy Sweet treats! So many to choose from, where do you start? Depending on the time of day that you go there might be a line (typically in the evening) — just. jump in line and grab a carmel chocolate covered apple. So fun and super yummy! It is also a great place to grab other sweets for friends and family.

Smack in the middle of Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort area is this confectionery… kryptonite for anyone who has a sweet tooth. This store lures people in by showing their staff standing by the glass window, making gorgeous, handmade Disney treats, ranging from Disney themed caramel apples, chocolate covered crispy treats, or something gooey with marshmallows. On this particular Sunday visit, the employees were making Halloween themed items: Spooky caramel apples, a Maleficent looking chocolate apple, and a cute rainbow Mickey ears apple.
When you walk inside the store, you get a good whiff of the sugary sweetness in the air. The store is immaculate, and they have all sorts of sweets to tempt you.
Like everything else at the Disney Resort, the prices are not cheap, and they’re probably meant to be shared.
If you are looking to save calories. keep walking. Don’t make eye contact and you will be safe.

I don’t care if the character candy apples cost $ 10. If it’s cute, it’s totally worth it!!! Just be sure you don’t bring your whole family here, because it’s gonna be expensive, if everybody were to get one of their own. Unless you’re rich or you can share yours. Hehe… Marceline’s sells other sweet treats but I only come here for the character candy apples. The apples are yummy and adorable!!!

You can get many of the Disney Park treats here like the Mickey & Minnie candied/​chocolate covered apples! It was really fun to watch them create specialty items from the main window facing Downtown Disney!
A def stop for any Disney Fan with a sweet tooth!

The chocolate covered pineapples are a must try (along with everything else in that place)!
If you are on a diet, stay away! You will probably walk out with more treats than you really need.
Yes, it is a little pricey, but it’s Downtown Disney … so is everything else! :)

OMG I will forever be a kid in a real live candy store at this place. And I’ve only been here once because I didn’t know it existed! My favorite is the Mickey and Minnie shaped rice crispy treats! I love the chocolate smothered & mini M&M drizzled one and prepackaged fruity coral colored dipped treat. Can’t leave without getting the family size Mickey chocolate dipped pretzels for the road! I possibly went a bit overboard after buying those three plus a Minnie caramel apple (so cute!), raspberry white chocolate cookie, humongous chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookie, and an Ariel cookie; red velvet Mickey cake pop; milk chocolate marshmallow stick; and green Mike W. eye cake pop for my sis & cousins. I seriously have the largest sweet tooth in the family. Totally need to cut back on sugar, but when in Disney, all the rules fly out the window for a couple of days.
Almost missed the creation of those fantastic chocolate coated caramel apples! From now on I’ll stick to basic peanut coated caramel though; I just sliced the Minnie one and it’s too much sugar to handle. Beautiful, nonetheless.

If you’re looking for some sweet treats in Downtown Disney to satisfy your sweet tooth, stop in this old fashioned candy shop named after Walt Disney’s childhood town of Marceline, Missouri. Chocolate lovers, beware. I’m a sucker for chocolate, so it would be difficult to walk away from this store without buying a chocolate covered goody.
You’ll find all sorts of Disney themed favorites like candy apples, hand dipped chocolates, crisp rice treats and other sweets made fresh on the premises each day. Stand outside and through the giant picture windows you can watch them make and decorate the goodies. They also sell packaged treats.
My daughter and I decided to split a Mickey Mouse shaped crisp rice on a stick. It was delicious and SWEET. Quite expensive at $ 5.49. Most of the stuff in there is pretty expensive, it’s still delicious.
At this sugar lovers paradise, you’ll feel like a kid in a candy store. Oh yeah, look for a hidden Mickey in the Marceline’s Confectionery sign.

If you want some Disneyland desserts, you don’t have to go inside Disneyland for them! Marceline’s Confectionery is located in Downtown Disney. There’s a large selection of sweets from candy to brownies to my favorite… the caramel apples!
I don’t know what it is, but Disneyland caramel apples are just the best caramel apples ever. They’re so perfect, not too tart and not too sweet. Every single apple is perfect. You can watch how they make it from the window outside.
Other caramel apples will never be the same after you try the ones at Disneyland :)

If I’m just visiting Downtown Disney (which happens more often now that I no longer have an AP), a trip to Marceline’s Confectionery is always in order. Sometimes the store is crowded and sometimes it’s not — I always go at a different time so it’s hard to predict what the lines will be like. However, if you’re going to Marceline’s around the time that a Park’s closing or right after Fantasmic/​the fireworks, you can bet that the candy store will be a bit busier. When I’m cruising through DTD, though, it’s always nice to visit Marceline’s and just watch the caramel apple process unfold in the bakery window.
I love going to this kitchen/​bakery-​centric store because they specialize in everything you need to outfit your kitchen with Mickey merchandise. I think the potholders, spatulas and measuring cups are some of my favorite kitchen items … and, depending on the holiday, you may even find seasonal treats and goods (packs of candy corn, etc.) at Marceline’s as well.
But of course, the main draw for Marceline is the baked goods/​candies. Here’s what I would recommend:
«Mickey Gingerbread Cookie»: Sometimes, Marceline’s has my favorite cookie, and sometimes they don’t. When they do have it, however, I’m sure to snatch up one of these fragrant Mickey-​shaped cookies, complete with chocolate ears!
«Large Mickey Peanut Butter-​Chocolate Cookie»: I’m not sure about the official name of this cookie, but that’s what it looks like — a huge peanut butter Mickey head cookie that’s drizzled with chocolate. I bought this cookie to share once with my mom and it didn’t disappoint. I loved the soft and chewy peanut butter cookie, and the chocolate drizzle provided an extra hint of sweetness. This cookie is a bit more expensive than most (over $ 5 I think) because of its size. I don’t order it all the time because of the price, but it was definitely worth trying once.
«Large Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie»: This large Mickey head-​shaped cookie is similar to the peanut butter one, but I think it just features a regular shortbread cookie with a chocolate drizzle. I have no complaints about the cookie itself – it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a traditional chocolate chip treat – but I think I just preferred the peanut butter one (the prices are about the same).
«(Round) Peanut Butter Cookie»: If you’re looking for a solid peanut butter cookie (that’s not as expensive as the Mickey one), this round cookie is the way to go ($ 3 – 4). It features a soft and chewy cookie that’s generously studded with large chunks of peanut butter (from what I can remember). Definitely one of my favorite cookies, and I often have a hard time deciding between this one and the «Chocolate Chip» version (which, of course, is generously studded with delectable chocolate chunks).
«Snickerdoodle»: I’ve never gotten this round cookie, but it always looks so tempting to me because I can just see the cinnamon sugar resonating on top of the cookie! I do love a soft, moist snickerdoodle cookie (especially when warmed up), so I’ll have to try this one at some point.

This incredible little sweet shop has all the delicious delicacies and sweet concoctions you will find inside the parks!
Over the years I’ve always been a fan of the yummy things Disney makes and puts in their sweet shops!
This store is full of goodies my favorite being the peanut brittle oh how it is sooo good my absolute top flavor they make is the spicy one it’s sooo good and just hits the spot everytime.
They have a variety of chocolate covered treats including pretzels, fudge, and rocky road amongst the many things in the cold case.
Outside of the case you will find their variety of covered apples depending on the season you will find anything from ones covered with Reese’s to ones in a cinnamon swirl goodness! All of the apples I’ve ever gotten here have been outstandingly good and even the basic Carmel ones just have that flavor that make you want to eat it right down to the core!
This shop is a must stop with any visit to Downtown Disney just go inside you know you will find many options to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Skip the Mickey chocolate chip cookie. It looks unbelievably good, but trust me, it’s dry and brittle. Worst decision ever to spend $ 6 on. I forced myself to munch on it because it was so gosh darn expensive, but as a baker myself, I eventually tossed it.
Go for the peanut butter sandwich though. It’s almost life changing; I wanted more and more after each bite. The apple pie caramel apple ears was also good. I’m not an apple pie fan, but this was different. The caramel, cinnamon sugar, and graham cracker crumbs just worked wonders together. Their toffee is also amazing; definitely need to practice portion control with those.
