Dr. Charles Nguyen earned his Medical Degree from UC Irvine, where he also completed his psychiatry residency training. His research interests include weight gain management. He designed and published the Win-Nguyen Diet which focuses on four simple diet changes to decrease weight gain often associated with medications. He has won numerous teaching awards while he was on faculty at UC Irvine until 2008. He also earned the Thomas F. Riley Community Service Award and the NAMI Bridge Builder Award. Dr. Nguyen was awarded 2010 Orange County Physicians of Excellence and recognized as Best Physician in the January 2010 issue of Orange Coast Magazine.
Dr. Nguyen’s extensive clinical experience, teaching, research and training in psychiatry provide a unique perspective to help his patients lose weight through the use of motivational interviewing technique, cognitive behavioral therapy, and medication management
