Excellent service and selections. Great place to sell your books.

I love the law bookstore they have everything necessary to through law school. Greg the owner is super friendly and knowledgable, so is his wife. I think his mom even works there sometimes, I love supporting family owned businesses. I would rather go here than amazon or the law bookstore at my own school even though it’s a bit out of my way.

I don’t know about you, but when I go to a local store, I’m HAPPY. The fact that they are there and can see me as a person, and not simply a faceless number is fantastic in this day of internet fulfillment.
There may be days when I can find something a little cheaper online, but overall, I enjoy visiting a physical store. I don’t have to wait for delivery or contend with the fact that UPS and FedEx seem to regard my purchases as footballs. If I need something for a class today, I will have my book in hand TODAY. If I ever have a problem, Greg, the owner, is always considerate and quick to offer a remedy — discount, store credit, even a full refund.
My bottom line is: great service, product is there when I need it (if my school released its book list in time), and a local resource that will work with me, give me guidance, and stands ready to be of help. You really can’t ask for more than that. Unless all you care about is getting stuff for the absolute cheapest price all the time.
Me, I don’t mind paying a little more (on rare occasions, the price online is slightly less *shrugs disinterestedly*) for the service and patronizing a place that has been so helpful to me, and it makes me feel good — it’s customers who keep places like the Law Bookstore in business. If we don’t spend our money here, places like this will not be here when we need them. Then we’ll be at the mercy of Amazon and the other computer giants. I’d rather that didn’t happen.

Today was my first time patronizing The Law Bookstore and I won’t be back.
I did my price comparisons the night before and saw that the book I needed was almost $ 40 cheaper at the bookstore than it was online, so I drove all the way to what seemed like the end of Anaheim only to find that the book was actually MORE expensive than it was through other retailers online.
When I told the owner the price listed online did not match the store price, he maintained that he would not sell the book for the price listed online. If I didn’t need the book so soon, I would not have purchased from them.
Bad faith. Bad business.
If you do decide to purchase from them for lack of alternative options, call first to make sure the price is right.

I bought a book and realized it wasn’t going to serve my purpose, I returned within 2 days and the owner accepted it, gave me proper credit, and also recommended me to a better resource for my need. This is a trust worthy law bookstore.

The guy that owns/​runs the store is amazing; he somehow knows exactly what I’m looking for before I do.

What you need to know to get the most out of this bookstore:
Buying books:
I always check Amazon prices of books I’m buying from them for price comparison. Some times the prices are very similar especially when they have used books available. However, there were times that I bought books from them twice the Amazon price just because our school gave us the booklist so late that it was impractical to order from amazon and get them on time.
Selling books:
When you are selling your book back to them make sure to ask for the price they are buying EACH book, otherwise they might bundle up all of them and give you ¹⁄₁₀ of the price of the same used books they sell at store even if your book is in great condition, without highlights, and is still a current edition. You might be able to sell them at lease twice the price on amazon.
Bottom line: Do your research and buy/​sell smart! They are great ONLY IF you are aware of the market price and make inform decision. After all money doesn’t grow on trees!

This place is a huge rip off for selling back your law books. my girlfriend went in there to see what she could get for 4 of her books from last semester and this guy looks at all 4 of them and says $ 90 without looking at any price sheet. we said no and went home checked
to see if we could sell them back there and turns out she can get $ 150 for 2 of the 4 books she was trying to sell and its not chegg site credit its an actual check… DO NOT SELL YOUR BOOKS BACK HERE

Great store, great service, great value.
Purchased 4 books and on the way to the register the clerk stopped at the used shelf and saved me $ 80 bucks — bam!
This is a great resource to the legal community and like the idiot I can be I asked about iPad versions of some of the books. They said possibly soon and when I said «that will be nice!» the owner looked at me and politely said «nice for you but not for me.»
I left the store feeling the pain of a small book seller caught in a world getting flatter and flatter…

super informed staff, they know most of the books off the top of their head. hours are a bit short but thats ok just be sure to plan early — they are well stocked in used material and never try to upsell you

Great! As always. They are nice and helpful. Parking is easy and they have what I need. They will tell you if you are asking for something you probably won’t need. That is really special, to have a store, who’s staff will tell you to not buy something, rather than just push stuff on you. I go there for all my books and study aids. I bring my old stuff, also and trade it in. Forget trying to sell it yourself. Just walk in and plop it on the counter and be done with it. Super easy!

If you are a lawyer, cop, or law student, you will wish you had brought more money. Into this tiny store is packed every book you will ever need and a few you didn’t know you needed. Tip for new and future lawyers: Never buy from law publishers, they will send you unsolicited updates and bill you for them ’till the cows come home!

Walked in and heard ‘Hey Jude’ over the speaker! For me, there couldn’t be a better sign that I was in the right place. But besides them playing the Beatles’ ‘1’ CD, this place was a godsend. Licensed in DC, but taking the CA bar in Feb., found this place online. Was truly amazed at how many resources they had — I was looking CA essay material. Both people were extremely friendly and resourceful, from books to inexpensive bar review tutors/​classes. Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because it didn’t seem like they had the biggest used book section.

Once again, fast, friendly, found what I was looking for in 5 minutes, and was out the door.

I get all my books here. Need I say more??? They have my school list, it is close to work, what more can a girl want??? LOL, well, you know!!!

The BEST place to get all of you law books. MUCH cheaper than your school bookstore wold sell them. why pay more when you don’t have to? Especially when you’re a broke law student =) The people here are very helpful & friendly. don’t hesitate 2 ask 4 help if ur lost & don’t know where 2 start. =)
Just don’t resell your books back to here, they’ll tear you apart. try selling them back online or to other students instead =)

Anyone interested in a pursuing a law degree (or even just educating yourself in law) in Southern CA — especially around Orange County, CA should know about The Law Bookstore. It’s your alternative to the University bookstore and their selection is quite large. You can find most of your coursebooks here in both new and used versions. Almost every legal study aid is also available (also in new and used).
The staff is very helpful and will help you out before you get lost in the stacks.
