Goofy’s Sky School

If you enjoy the «Wild Mouse» style of roller coaster rides, you will love this one. It’s fun, but probably the most scary ride I go on. I feel like I’m going to get flung out of the car on each sharp turn. But I guess that’s what we like about roller coasters, is that they scare us or get us pumped up! Funny.

This is a cute little roller coaster great for kids. A little bumpy and it has a nice little drop. 4 fits in a little cart. Honestly, I recommend taking off your hat and ears and holding it or putting it in the pouch in front of your seat. We sadly lost a hat on this ride.
I would give it 5 stars but the stops are very fast.
Great ride at California adventures. Every time I’ve come, wait is very short. But you can always get a fast pass !

This is a great warm-​up to start the day for more intense roller coaster rides, such as California Screamin’. My friends and I waited about 40 – 45 minutes (it was the winter holiday season, so wait time was probably longer than other times of the year), and we had a lot of fun.
This used to be a car-​themed ride called Mulholland Madness years ago, but now it’s Goofy-​themed, adorned with goofy posters of Goofy flocked by an army of chickens. It’s a lot like Psycho Mouse from Great America, and the falls and twists and turns were thrilling for a short and sweet ride. Thank goodness we came here before heading to California Screamin!

This ride stole my mouse ears :(…the worker says «hold on to your ears» and they mean it. It was a little more jerky than I anticipated but for the most part it was enjoyable. My daughter absolutely loves it. The line isn’t usually that long and when my daughter brings a friend she is now old enough to ride it with out me and I can sit back enjoying an IPA. ;)

Goofy’s Sky School is a fun little rollercoaster that has small drops and sharp turns. It’s just plain fun for all ages. The ride is about 5 min long so it’s very quick. A maximum of 4 people can fit into one cart but there are many carts available. I believe there is Fastpass for this ride so if the line is ever long, grab a ticket and come back. The decorations as you walk through the line is hilarious. They have posters that will make you laugh, pictures to keep you entertained, and props that catches your eye. Have fun learning how to fly with Goofy!

This is definitely one of the more thrilling kiddie rides, or even the rides in general at California Adventure. The line was non-​existent on a Saturday morning in October, and the ride operator even let us ride two times in a row without exiting the ride.
It is what it is: short, sweet and very Goofy. You start by ascending in a 2 row, 4 person cart. (I’m 5’11″ and it wasn’t unbearably tight.) At the top of the ride, you travel back and forth on a loopy track with tight turns. You can see a great deal of the park from up there. There are two roller coaster plunges that offer mild thrills and then the ride is over. I don’t know about all the thrill-​seekers out there, but I thought this ride was plenty scintillating when I was a kid. If you must, request a front-​row seat. Just enjoy the ride and embrace the spirit of Goofy!

Took me about 10 minutes to gain the courage to just get into line. I don’t consider myself a roller coaster girl, but I’ve been proving myself wrong somewhat. I watched a YouTube video of the ride, to determine if it’s something I can even do. The cast members told me it’s not that bad. I did get on the ride and found the turns to be kind of nauseating. I’m thinking because of the fact that I was so nervous and it was really hot outside. As for the 2 dips, the first one was a little bigger than I would have anticipated. I did what my friend said, tighten your gut and it won’t be so bad. I thought it was funny the people who got on with us showed no emotion. It was as if they were bored. buhaha
I would do this ride again, now that I faced my fear. But on an empty stomach.

This ride is fun and if you don’t get a thrill you may be «brain dead.» The track is flat including the sharp turns so you’ll feel like you’ll tip over! There are a few deep «dips» that’ll get your attention. The ride time is brief however worth the wait… not exactly a high cap ride but the line moves at a decent rate.

My daughter’s favorite ride at California! We have to come to this ride every time we enter Disneyland grounds. She is only 5 so this was her first «big» roller coaster. She was so nervous the first time and now gets so excited. I love it.
The ride wait never seems to be too bad. It’s only been 30 minute wait tops for us. The reason the wait takes longer too is because of the fast pass people that come in. The employees get those people in right away so it takes longer for the normal line. But, hence the fast pass advantage!
The ride is super fun with the fast turns and a couple drops to make your stomach drop a little. Roller coasters always seem to make people smile… or bring up their lunch… but this one shouldn’t do that to you. It’s a fun ride to try with the kiddos or even an adult.

This is a surprisingly fast and sharp little coaster for being up on top of a building! You can’t actually even see this coaster from the ground.

The ride is packed with sharp turns, drops appropriate for a young child, and a fairly short line in general.
This was a fave for my 6 year old but a definite no go for Gramma with on this trip due to the jerky nature of the ride.

Used to be Mulholland Drive but that wasn’t Disney enough… Adding Goofy to this ride hasn’t done much for it. The signature features are sharp turns, tiny drops, and tight brakes. The seating is cramped, the ride is bumpy, and overall it’s an uncomfortable and occasionally painful experience for older adults. Kids are typically unimpressed, saying it’s «just okay.»
The ride is short; less than 2 minutes. A bit underwhelming for my taste.
The line is fast.

— Yes, has a single rider (ask a cast member).
— Yes, has a FastPass.

This is my son’s favorite ride; he’s 3. On the off seasons, we have gone on the roller coaster about 7 times in a row, in about an 1 ½ hour time period.
I remember when the ride was Mulholland Madness, and I’m glad they changed it to the ever loveable Goofy’s Sky School.
The line goes quick, due to the 4-​person car being in constant rotation; better be able to time getting on and off well… can’t tell you how many times I have lost my shoe in the car, due to panicking and trying to get off. And, it’s a tight squeeze, which makes it hard to shove the enormous back pack I still lug around (with «just in case» items). Makes the transition in & out cumbersome.
Overall, if you aren’t a spaz like me, the ride is perfectly short, sweet and a little wild, filled with a few ups and downs… just like my 3 year old :-)

Don’t think this just a goofy kid ride! This thing scared the crap outta me! Lots of sharp turns and dips. I literally thought I was going to fly off the edge every few seconds. It made me scream and giggle like a child! I feel bad for the dad and son behind us because at one of the dips I may have accidentally screamed out some obscenities! My husband quickly reminded me we were Disneyland, hello!!! It was a fun ride with a quick line. I would recommend for all ages!

If you want to break your hip then you found the right ride. With such sharp turns you can barely enjoy the ride when you are accruing bruises. Your better off waiting in line for something a little more fun, exciting and less painful. Ouch!

«Goofy’s Sky School» is a fun ride and one that I would recommend just because it’s so different from all the others in both DCA and Disneyland. This «goofy» ride is like a hybrid of sorts – it’s not an intense roller coaster, but it’s not a slow-​moving ride, either. The wait for this ride (it used to have a different name, but in the last few years it got a makeover) can get really long if you don’t hit it up early during the day … unless, of course, it’s a slow day in DCA.
Goofy’s is located past «Ariel’s Undersea Adventure» and at the very end of the Pier, before you see the restaurants. While I don’t go on this ride every single time I visit DCA, I do enjoy a spin on Goofy’s every now and then … I just have to prepare myself for those sharp turns. And yes — this ride is a VERY tight fit, and only four people fit in a car (more on that later).
Here are some tips if you plan to take flight …
Get Fast Passes: If you’re visiting DCA on a crowded day, the line for Goofy’s can get pretty long. Definitely take advantage of the Fast Pass option and come back later. However, if the line is less than 30 minutes, just stand in it. At least, that’s my maximum wait time for this ride!
Prepare for a Tight Squeeze: I’m a small person, but this ride is a tight fit. As mentioned before, only four people can fit in one of these cars (which can explain the long line … it can go really slowly), and you’ll definitely feel cramped inside. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and pull the bar down too tightly, or else you’ll really suffer when you hit the sharp turns.
Enjoy a Bird’s-Eye View: I like Goofy’s because it doesn’t feature many drops or extreme conditions. You basically start at the top of the structure and make your way down via sharp turns on the track. From what I remember, there’s one drop – and you do feel it in that little car – but for the most part, Goofy’s features a bumpy ride more than anything else. But, if you’re not too busy holding on and screaming, enjoy the view of the Park from the top of the ride.
Conveyor Belt: Props to this ride for using the convenient conveyor-​belt technology that makes the ride continuous, which usually guarantees quick loading and unloading (similar to the Buzz Lightyear and Haunted Mansion rides). However, since only four people can fit in a car at a time, loading still isn’t the quickest — especially if there are larger parties in front of you. Again, I would recommend hitting up this ride if the Park’s not crowded (once the BF and I hardly had to wait at all), and if this is a ride you really do want to go on, get the Fast Pass.

Who doesn’t love being a little goofy at the Happiest Place on Earth? Get ready to learn how to fly with Goofy! It is quite an experience!
As with everything at Disney, there is a wait time to be expected! The wait time was supposed to be a mere 20 minutes, so we thought, «Why not?» Um, during the ride, I thought, «Why so?»
This ride is really one of those rides where you need to heed the warning (because there are some who don’t think it is necessary… I would heed them on this ride!!): Per the website– «WARNING! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.»
This roller coaster ride is at Disney California Adventure and is located in the Paradise Pier section of the park. It is a short ride (1 minute and 45 seconds). There is a height requirement of 3 feet 6 inches. This roller coaster opened originally as Mulholland Madness, but due to accidents, they closed it down. They reopened it as Goofy’s Sky School which is a take off on Goofy’s Glider. The cars seat 2 people in front and 2 in the back. You can get a FastPass for this ride.
My first thought while waiting in line is, «Oh, look at the little children riding this! It should be a simple roller coaster ride to relax on!» Oh boy, was I wrong! There is no relaxing on this ride! It basically is a jerky and full of turns type of roller coaster! It IS fun, don’t get me wrong on this, but it can tweak you as it makes its’ hairpin turns. Other than that, there are 4 passes that are straight with bumps and still offer a thrill!
I recommend this ride to any child or adult, who have no issues with the warnings & height restriction!

This ride is so fun! I love it because of the jerky swings it makes at the top of the ride. It doesn’t matter if you ride it day or night because you still get nice views. The first time I went on the ride, my arms smashed against the side of the car. Then in the middle of the ride, there are a few dips that you can’t really get at other rides at DCA (because there are so few «roller coasters»). At the end, they stop abruptly a couple times. Watch your neck. There used to be similar ride called «Muholland Madness» here, but I don’t know why they changed it.
After the Radiator Springs ride, this is probably the second most popular at DCA and does have a fast pass. I doubt the line goes past an hour though. They have multiple cars that can fit up to four people.

Goofy’s Sky School is very deceptive looking; we thought it was a roller coaster for the kiddies similar to the Crazy Mouse at the San Diego County Fair minus the spinning cars.
Well… when you’re at the top of the track (which is very high off the ground), going through those tight hairpin turns that would make you feel like you’re about to fly off the track, and that one steep drop midway through the ride that made me go, «That was so not cool!», you will change your mind about Goofy’s Sky School very quickly!
One star off for the cars being very tiny, meaning you will feel a bit cramped… and it’s a bit tough to stow your stuff onboard. But, at least the ride was working, and the wait was about 10 minutes, so there you go.
Thrill seekers, don’t discount Goofy’s Sky School! It’s one of the hidden gems in DCA!

In the deepest, darkest corner of Disney California Adventure, there exists an attraction that was once called «Mulholland Madness.» It was painted orange, and it had vehicles that looked like cars.
One day, they decided to paint it blue. They changed the vehicles that looked like cars to vehicles that looked like airplanes… and they opened it as a brand new attraction and renamed it… Goofy’s Sky School!!!
Dun. Dun. DUN!
Hehehe. Although this attraction seems like an attraction that you’d find at a fair, I quite enjoy it! I find it to be far scarier than California Screamin’ as when you’re at the top of the attraction, the many sharp curves of track make you feel like you’re definitely going to fly off! (Just don’t look down if you’re afraid of heights!)
The height limit is 42″, and there are FastPasses for this attraction.
I took off a star, because it does jerk you around a bit with abrupt stops and slow downs. If you’re really tall (vertically or horizontally), it’s a hard attraction to fit into as the seats and lap bars on the vehicle are a bit small.

Insanely fast with gravity-​defying steep banking, loved it!
I thought my newly-​minted 7 year-​old would exit, terrified, but nope! He loved it too.
