Francis’ Ladybug Boogie

This ride is horrible! My little girl’s eyes were about to pop out of her head for fear of her life. It was way too fast to have this in the kiddies section of California adventure. And extremely bumpy. I’ll stick to the teacups.

A mini version of the teacups, with each car shaped like Francis the ladybug from «A Bug’s Life.» The backs are higher than on the teacups, ostensibly to keep your kid from falling out, and the bugs spin, just like the teacups, by turning the wheel in the center.
The teacups make me dizzy/​queasy, and despite Ladybug Boogie being smaller and made for little kids, it made me even MORE dizzy/​queasy than the teacups. Maybe because you’re in a smaller space to begin with, allowing for less looking around and alleviating the going-​in-​circles feeling? I dunno, but I was more than ready for it to be over when it ended. It’s probably fun for kids, but nooooo thanks for me.

— Line, although short, moves slow since it is an all on/​all off type ride
— Can’t spin your own car, so you can’t slow it down if you want

You spin me right round, baby right round…
Have you ever sat in a ladybug? Well here’s your chance to sit in one and spin. This is a great kids’ ride where you spin and you can also spin the ladybug even more by spinning the wheel in the middle (this is a kiddie version of the teacups in Disneyland). You also get to hear some jazz music at the same time. This ride is in California Adventure in A Bug’s Land. Get spinning!

What’s great about this ride (or not great depending on how you look at it) is you don’t have to do the spinning. It does it for you! My preschooler loved this ride — as she did with most of the rides in the area. Would definitely come back!

Fun little ride. If there isn’t a long line, check it out!

This is similar to the Mad Tea Party (teacups) in Disneyland, but you don’t have to use muscle to spin these attraction vehicles. They spin on their own! There are about six or eight ladybugs that are shaped like the teacups, and they rotate on a figure eight pattern. My favorite part of this attraction is the transition between the two circles, because it’s the most thrilling part and feels so much faster at that time! And children love this attraction, because for some reason, they really love going in circles!

Disney and California Adventure like to reuse concepts for rides over and over. This ride takes the tea cup concept from Disneyland and turns it into twirling lady bugs for this kiddie ride (best for 4 and under) in A Bug’s Land. It’s not as fast as the tea cups or Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in the nearby Cars Land, which makes it suitable for the really little ones.

Love this ride… the wait time is ok, the ride is quick & it scared my 2 y/​o! Definitely good for the little munchkins, so so much for older kiddies.

Mini version of the t-​cups, however you don’t control the rotation speed as well as you do with the t-​cups over at the main Disneyland park. Sit closer to the door, and it spins faster. Great for small kids.

Your under 5 crowd will enjoy this ride. The line is typically short — 15 minutes or so — and it’s mellow. If you get verdugo easily you won’t on this :) and the ladybugs are adorable! Think baby teacups with a smaller line!

My daughter loves this ride (and she’s two)! I think it’s her favorite ride in Bug’s Land (and now Mommy’s too!). It’s usually just the two of us, so we sit across from eachother. I always sit near the door because the more weight you put leaning towards the door, the faster your ladybug will spin on the turns. Definitely found that out when I rode with my husband and he used his body weight to throw our bug around. Surprisingly a much different experience from the many times my daughter and I went on that ride alone. For those of you who found no thrill in this ride, try it the next time you’re out in Bug’s Land. You won’t regret it. Just make sure that your little one holds on tight because he or she will be slipping and sliding with the extra spins and bumps!

Love this ride! The ladybugs are soo cute, hehe! I was slipping and sliding all over (maybe I was wearing slippery pants?), even though it’s not self-​spinnable like the teacups. I wouldn’t recommend it for teeny babies, like someone else said, because it spins. But I guess you could see that before even getting on the ride. Line was nonexistent, but the ride itself was pretty fun and made me giggle. The bug itself is really huge, so at least 4 people could fit, if not more. The only bad part was that it was a pretty short ride (seemed like the shortest one I went on).

Located in «a bug’s land», Francis’ Ladybug Boogie may resemble the Tea Cups from Disneyland, but there is one small difference… you don’t turn the disc in the middle to make it spin.
The vehicles move along a figure 8 and as they do, the vehicles will spin themselves. To me, this feels more like a til-​a-​whirl if it were moving on a flat surface.

Located in «A Bug’s Land» portion of California Adventure, this cute ride is like a «tea cup» style ride for little kids.
Be be weary…
This ride is rough for very small children. I took my 11 month old daughter on this today and was surprised how bumpy and jerky it was. I really wouldn’t recommend this ride for any child younger then 1 year old. Even at that age, I would recommend two adults sit on either side of your little one (since there is no lap sitting) to ensure your child doesn’t slide around.
It’s a cute ride, that doesn’t really have a wait time.

Its like the teacups meet the ladybugs… for kids.
Francis’ Ladybug Boogie is yet another well themed attraction in A Bug’s Land at California Adventure. You climb aboard one of the many ladybug shaped cars and spin around and around and around. You can control the speed of the car… basically like you can on the teacups across the way at Disneyland.
It is a totally fun ride and like most of the other rides in A Bug’s Land it never has much of a line…
Just make sure you don’t eat a large lunch right before riding… you don’t want to lose that lunch after riding around on your ladybug.
