Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Don’t go in this ride if you are claustrophobic! Super cramped! I’m not claustrophobic but I was dying with seeing how close we are all seating. Not worth the long wait at all IMO!

A good litmus test of a movie based ride is whether you can follow the basic plot of the ride without having seen the movie. I had a vague idea but that’s about it. I found much of what the characters were saying to just be cacophony. Also, despite the trappings this is basically a reworking of the older submarine ride, so you’re still crammed into a sub that only pretends to submerge and you stare through a portal the whole time as it completes its voyage. All that said, I did give it an extra star because it’s a very camera friendly ride; you’re guaranteed some decent photos.

This horrible excuse for a ride doesn’t even deserve one star. This ride is nothing but an utter disappointment. It’s just a bunch of fake ass fish and some projections of nemo and his ugly ass fishy buddies. Worst of all you get no cell service in the submarine thingies. I wasted more than an hour of my life waiting in line and riding this ride. I do not suggest bringing yourself or your kids on this ride.

This is such a relaxing ride. I wouldn’t go here in the middle of the summer. It can get humid inside. Correction, it is humid. My friend and I went during night time, and almost feel asleep. The sound of the bubble and it goes so slow. Very nice. It is very cute, something to do at least once.

This was a very interesting ride. Very creative & impressed with the animé underwater. Great ride after walking so much in the park. This ride is kind of like a «chill» ride.
I understand that a whole bunch of people had to share space in the cramped up submarine, but I wish the chairs were a little more comfortable. Either way, great ride for kids.

This was a great ride for the kiddo. Plenty of Nemo fun! All the kids were yelling NEMO!

Finding Nemo, located in Tomorrowland and close to the Monorail entrance, is an enigma. Yes the idea is fun, but the ride is… iono. It feels like the way the ride works, it’s sooo not what you’d expect it to be. You wait in a long line where it takes you about 40 – 45 mins (and the LAST part took 20 minutes, where you saw the submarines). Iono. When you go in, you see that it’s 2 rows, and there are seats on both sides. If you enter from the right side of the ship, you sit on one side. If you enter from left, you get the other. It’s dark, and if you are claustrophobic and whatnot, this is definitely not the ride for you. I saw 4 submarines, at least pass by. You first are on the surface level, and then they play tricks on you with «bubbles» to make you think you are submerging. Yeah how are you submerging if you don’t feel like you’re going down: P You get to enter the world of Nemo and Dory, along with Marlin. You get to see sharks and «gnarly» sea turtles as well. You submerge three-​four times but when you go up, you only have to go up once: P
It’s alright, they follow the movie a bit, but the ride isn’t one I’d wait that long for to see again.
Repeat members will ask, Why does Nemo get lost every time you get on this submarine ride?

This wait is so long because there are only two submarine and the ride is very long in comparison to other rides.
If you don’t like tight, small spaces, don’t go on this ride. The submarine has a weird smell from being around water, heat and body odor.
Personally, I think the ride is a little boring and there’s nothing really that special for it. Just go on it at least once to see. My boyfriend, on the other hand, loved this ride. I don’t think the wait is worth it. Get a fast pass or go when the wait is less than 15 minutes on a weekday.

This ride made me nauseous :(felt a little queasy when all the tiny bubbles flew up while we were going under the water. But all the stuff you pass was so stinkin cute. It was nice seeing dory, Marlin, the turtles the classroom. Very cute. It got me excited for the Dory movie that’s coming out next year. I would love to go again on this! Remember to put your head as close to the little Windows as much as you can so you can see everything on the tour :)

When I was kid, I loved this ride so much. And of course I have to age myself and disclose that this ride didn’t have Nemo in at the time. Wow I’m feeling old! But even as a child this ride was old and in need of major remodeling, so when they announced the updates, I was excited to see what they did with it. Unfortunately, they left much of the old ride and superimposed brand new Nemo elements to it. This leads to an extra tacky ride. It’s like furnishing a 100 year old home with Ikea furniture. It just doesn’t work. If they were going to add all those LED (?) props and digital work they needed to get rid of props left over from the 70’s. I also never noticed as a kid how uncomfortably cramped the submarine is. I’ve only been on it twice. Once to check out the upgrades and the other time to take my goddaughter. I won’t be wasting time on this ride ever again.

I am guessing that if Nemo ever gets lost again. it will be near impossible to find him. Nonetheless, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will be the closest you will get to finding him!
Believe it or not, I had no idea this ride was here already for quite some time. I recently discovered it. Hey, give me a break. I’m still a Disneyland newbie! If you are one that gets claustrophobic, then this ride isn’t for you. Other than that…
You are submerged into the sea by a submarine where you are taken into the ocean to find Nemo. The amazing video screens of the characters makes it for such a memorable ride. One of the more longer lasting rides, it is one that is definitely worth riding. You may get a bit drenched with water, especially if you are sitting near the opening of the submarine. Some will say it is not all that of a ride. In my eyes, I already love it!

The idea behind this ride sounds better than what it actually turned out to be. Like me, you’re probably thinking, «Wow! I get to ride a submarine at Disneyland! It’s probably going to look as great as the Great Barrier Reef because it’s Finding Nemo!» Umm not even close. I didn’t find the seating too uncomfortable or claustrophobic, but you only get to look out through a small, round window. (It’s hard to take pictures too.) What you see is small, obviously artificial scenes. You’d think it would be a burst of vivid colors, but it’s kind of depressing, really, especially at night. I fell asleep mid-​ride. It feels more like the plastic-​y, artificial dentist’s aquarium and less like open water. Maybe the relative thrill factor is lacking because I’m «old» and maybe kids will appreciate this ride much more.

First off, if it’s been sprinkling like it did today, be very careful walking down the submarine stairs. The attendant informed us they’ve had quite a few falls during rainy season. And it’s a smidge tight, so hold onto your tiny ones hand when going down. OK, into business:
I simply can’t wait to write this review! Finding Nemo is exactly what the Dr. ordered! ;) With all the hustle and bustle energy flying around Mickey’s Halloween party, it’s nice to sit peacefully for a few minutes. Finding Nemo absolutely provides a few moments of peaceful sweet rest, I assure you.
I also really love Dori. She’s always a treat listening to her talk, always forgetting everything from one moment to the next! ;) Even though the ride is very slow and low key, it’s still very much a sweet little treat! You get to see the 100 year old turtles! :D They sound just like surfers, it’s so cute! «Heeey Dude!» ;D

The least enjoyable Disney ride for me.
The concept is cool, you go into a submarine that takes you underwater to explore and «find nemo».
This ride is not recommended for anyone who is claustrophobic.
The underwater stuff is pretty boring and looks very fake. Disney didn’t put a lot of effort into the little details to make this a «real» experience. I couldn’t wait for the ride to be over when I was inside that submarine.

Kinda cool, I guess, but also pretty lame… get dripped on, parts of it are not working half the time… best part are the seagulls saying «Mine Mine Mine» outside of the ride. Just go watch them and it will be good.
I love Nemo, but this ride is not so awesome. Yeah, maybe hitch a ride if the line is 5 – 10 minute wait, but any longer then just keep on swimming.

I enjoy taking a spin on «Finding Nemo» (FN) from time to time because it’s one of my favorite Pixar movies. I only vaguely remember riding this ride when it was still «20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” – all I remember is seeing a HUGE squid and some mermaids – but I guess the ride didn’t resonate with me as much because I never saw the movie.
Granted, I wouldn’t wait for more than 45 minutes in line for FN (I definitely waited until crowds died down when the ride first opened), but it’s worth checking out if you’ve never been before. It does highlight some of Disney’s high-​tech features as you go and «find Nemo» while aboard the different submarines.
On a good day, FN only has a 20 – 30 minute wait, but be forewarned – this is a very claustrophobic ride. I’m not even that tall and I get claustrophobic! But, once the ride starts and you get wrapped up in the tale, you won’t think as much about how awful it would be to get stuck on this ride in particular.
I actually really enjoy seeing familiar scenes from the «Finding Nemo» movie and hear the characters’ familiar voices all throughout the ride. Just make sure to pay attention to the little quips and asides — you may miss the «segue» into the next «scene» if you aren’t paying attention (aka Squirt’s, «Why is that whale eating that big yellow submarine?» or Dory’s cue that you’re about the exit via the whale’s blowhole).
Here are some of my favorite scenes from the ride:
The EAC: I love the faster pace and the «sped-​up» feeling you get when you see all the turtles cruising in the EAC. You even hear the upbeat music from the movie at this point.
Jellyfish Lagoon: This is definitely one of the more creative parts of the ride. It’s pitch black until you see the electrical dangles from the jellyfishes’ tentacles. Definitely not something you want to swim through in real life … but cool to visualize in the FN ride.
Bruce and Shark Friends: It’s at this point that we’re reminded that «fish are friends and not food,» but it’s fun to be «passing by» through the sunken ship, almost as if we’re just overhearing the sharks talking. I also really like the scene right after this, when one of the underwater grenades «explode» and you encounter some minor damage to the submarine.
The Imagineers were definitely creative when it came to planning the different scenes for this ride. Each one flows nicely from one to the next and includes quirky elements from the movie to make you feel like you were part of another quest to find Nemo.
Last year, the ride was closed for the longest time for some upgrades, but when I went on the ride again in October 2014, I couldn’t tell any major differences. The only thing I really noticed on my last FN voyage that the submarine I was in was LEAKING and I felt water dripping on me throughout the entire ride! Not cool and I was panicked for a little bit, as I definitely fear drowning. However, hopefully that minor detail is fixed by this time. All in all, FN is worth experiencing if you’ve never gone and is sure to be a fun adventure for the whole family. It’s just not worth a 60+ minute line.

Gotta do this once in your life! It is a pretty cool experience.
The seating is very small… I think that is my only negative for this ride. They could have put in seats for adults at least. Its almost as if the seats are for kids only. I squeezed in my seat and got really «cozy» with my neighbors.
No flash photography, which sucks because most pictures don’t come out inside the submarine since it is so dark.
But the experience is fun! Looking out the window to see the «bottom of the ocean» and to find Nemo, is really fun. The Disneyland submarine captain was really funny too! I prolly wouldn’t do this ride again. Once is enough for me. But it is a cool experience.

Finally got a chance to ride Nemo after they reopened.
I did not notice any difference from the last time I rode it in 2012.
Still claustrophobic inside. Tight squeeze and shoulder to shoulder. Also one way in and out.
Ride lasts about 10 minutes long, or at least it felt like 10 minutes.
First portion is super boring.
Nemo portion is the best part. I love seeing Squirt. Graphics are cool but not to the Disney standards I have seen on other rides.

I read the reviews, and mostly, they didn’t recommend this ride. I kind of concur! BUT, I just had to take this voyage because they had revamped it and I hadn’t been on it in many years.
The Submarine holds a lot of people, but it still takes a while to whittle down the line to where it is your turn to board. You can listen to the seagulls out on the buoy yelling «Mine» every so often.
There is a super narrow spiral staircase to enter into the sub. After waiting forever in the line, it was a welcome relief to finally sit down! You will more than likely be sitting hip to hip with the person on the seat next to you because the seats are on the small side.
It is a very tight space! If you don’t like the confinement of anything similar to an elevator, you won’t like this ride… it will be torturous. I don’t mind. Once they closed the hatch, all I could think of was what a germ pot this could be! I sure hope nobody was sick!
The ride is cheesy for adults, but I think it is cool for the children. First off, the portholes (windows) have scratches on them making it difficult to see out. or take pictures. Also, since the subs don’t really go under the water level, you can see the top right there, lessening the realistic effect of the ride. Both sides of the submarine view the exact same presentation.
I watched Nemo and his friends swimming around. I was disappointed they recorded a different voice for Dory… I loved Ellen as Dory. If you take this as just entertainment having to do with Nemo, and not precisely the movie, it is alright.
I have now taken this voyage as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Captain Nemo and now as Finding Nemo. I think I’m good until they revamp it again and turn it into another story-​line!
