Blue Sky Cellar is great way to escape the heat and crowds and take a peek at what’s coming for the Disneyland Resort. Art exhibits, plans, and a short film let you explore the world of the Imagineers and what they’re working on next! From The World of Color to Cars Land to the Fantasyland expansion, Blue Sky has allowed guests to get a first-hand look and the planning and construction phases. While it is currently not open, I look forward to visiting again soon to see what other new attractions are on their way!

Located in California Adventure next to Wine Country Trattoria, you can take a little stroll through their exhibit to see what the Disney engineers are up to next. Recently it’s been all about the Fantasy Faire Princess Village that will be opening up very soon(Spring of 2013) in Disneyland. My daughter looked at the façade princess meet and greet scale models and drawings with me and was very excited to see the Rapunzel Tower they’ll have at the center of the Fantasy Faire Princess Village public square. They are renovating right where the Carnation Plaza Bandstand was located next to the Sleeping Beauty Castle. I never saw anyone sitting or dining in that area, so it seems like it’s a great idea for Disney to revamp up that section of the park.

You think you have what it takes to be part of the Disney Imagineering team? This creative sanctuary is Walt Disney Imagineering at it’s Best. You can take a peek of upcoming DCA attractions. The current attraction is the Radiator Springs exhibit(Cars Land) + There are sketches, concept art, photos, models + Note cards describing plans for new attractions, shops, shows and restaurants + Interactive touch-screen compunters featuring trivia questions, history and inspiration behind DCA attractions. + Promo short video(my fav) featuring the Imagineer’s creative progress, interviews, and commentary about new projects. There are comfy cushioned benches to sit and cool air conditioning. Location: Disney’s California Adventure Park, enter through the Golden Vine Winery in Grizzly Peak area. If you’re the type of person that loves the behind-the-scenes DVD Special Features, Blue Sky Cellar is the place for you!

New exhibit update at Blue Sky. The Radiator Springs Historical Society’s Museum presents the history behind Radiator Springs! This is a great place to stop in if you’re a die hard Disney-ite. Not so much for the kiddies, but great for those who want to know more about Disney and the background, etc. There is a small room that shows a video, a few rows of benches to sit and watch as well a bunch of glass displays which feature models, pending production, how things are made, etc.

Want to see what’s up-and-coming at the Disneyland Resort? The Blue Sky Cellar is the place to go!!! A beautifully decorated room houses blueprints, mock-ups, and notes from Disney’s Imagineers showcasing the creative process behind new and coming attractions. The building is air conditioned and there’s a great video on Walt Disney and his creative process.

The Blue Sky Cellar is a place where Disney shows off what they’re doing to improve California Adventure in the near future. There’s concept art, small-scale dioramas, and pieces not used on the rides. However, the best part is that it’s free and is only busy if the park itself is really busy. Meaning, this is a great place to go to take a break during a long day at the parks. Also, they update the place every so often so it’s fun for a seasoned Disneyland nerd like myself.

It always cool to see what Disney is doing in the parks. I wish they also had one for the other park as well. It seems like they have a lot going on right now, I hope they get done with construction very soon!

Today is the 10th Anniversary of the Disney’s California Adventure theme park, + so I thought it would be appropriate to write a review for one of my favorite attractions in the park: Blue Sky Cellar! Hidden in plain sight right next to the Wine Country Trattoria + Golden Vine Winery , most park visitors + even many Disneyland junkies have never heard of or been to Blue Sky. But trust me… it’s worth spending about 10 mins of your valuable theme park indulgence time to take a peek inside to see all sorts of artwork, models, notes + a video about what’s in the future for DCA. The content inside the small gallery is updated every few months as DCA is always building something new to enhance the park + wants to show their visitors what’s going on behind the«under construction» walls. When I first discovered Blue Sky, I believe that was when Toy Story Mania was still being built, + the only peeks you could get were either here or from atop California Screamin’. Then in 2009, majority of the boards along the walls featured artwork + stages of development for World of Color . Following that was the renovations on Paradise Pier(the Silly Symphony swings + Mickey’s Sun Wheel) . Now, the featured exhibits are for the upcoming Little Mermaid ride , Cars Land + the continued park renovations at the main gate + in Paradise Pier as Disney is making efforts to rebrand the park with the old Los Angeles feel from the days when Walt Disney was alive. Blue Sky makes me love the Disney parks even more than I already do because in the future, when I finally do ride the new Little Mermaid ride or step foot into Cars Land, I’ll already have formed an appreciation of all the brilliant work from the Imagineers that went into the development of these attractions. Be sure to check out the small viewing area in the back that shows a video of sneak peeks + interviews that overview the next upcoming attractions. Happy 10th Anniversary Disney’s California Adventure, + I’ll see you this weekend! =)

This is pretty cool because you can see the new attractions that are coming in. After visiiting, I’m super excited for the new Cars ride and the Little Mermaid. There’s also going to be some sort of trolley in the front area of DCA. I definitely recommend checking this place out so you can see what’s coming to the park next.

Get a rare preview of upcoming magic through the eyes of Walt Disney Imagineers at Disney’s California Adventure Park. Marvel at the creative process used to develop current ideas into future attractions. Imagineers have revealed an abundance of eye-opening materials in the Blue Sky Cellar where innovative concepts are cultivated that include: * Sketches, concept art, models and maquettes * Note cards describing plans for new attractions, shops, shows and restaurants * A video journal featuring the Imagineer’s creative progress and displayed on a spectacular 103-inch plasma television.
