History
Established in 1998.
Skagit Cycle Center is the premier retailer for bicycles and cycling accessories in Skagit Valley, the San Juan Islands, and everywhere in between! Opened as Skagit Pedal Sports in May of 1998, the business expanded and with the new millennium came our new name – Skagit Cycle Center. The Burlington store was so successful we added a new store in Anacortes, which has made it easier to serve our friends in the islands. We have many things in common with our customers. Gary And Bernie S.
Business Owner
Bernie and Gary Santiago have devoted themselves to bringing the best in biking to Skagit County. Avid bicyclists themselves, they have fulfilled their dream of owning a great bicycle store – two of them in fact! Gary has been working with bicycles since he was a kid, saving up for his first good bike and going on century rides when he was just a teenager. He started building and repairing bikes in his back yard, and has been in the cycling industry since the early eighties. After over a decade as a licensed racer and also working with a major bicycle manufacturer, he wanted to own his own store. Bernie brings a background in retail management to the partnership, so for the last 8 years the Santiagos have been growing their business by serving the needs of the cycling community in Skagit County and beyond.
When they aren’t at the store helping customers find the perfect bike, you may find them riding with their kids on the Tommy Thompson Trail, or walking the shop dog in Washingto
