The People’s Acupuncture Clinic was born out of the need for high quality Chinese medicine that is affordable and sustainable for our local community. Because health is not something that is attained… it is something that is maintained, we have designed our clinic from the ground up to tread lightly on our environment while increasing the health of our surrounding communities.

Update: My only experience with The People’s Acupuncture Clinic, was when Stephanie Mattrey (Dr. Stephanie, as I call her) was there. Dr. Stephanie is no longer at The People’s Acupuncture Clinic, which is unfortunate, because she continued to be such a truly inspired and talented healer and she helped to make my quality of life better. Previous Review: I have been seeing Stephanie Mattrey for about 2 weeks now and I already see so much improvement. Dr. Stephanie, as I call her, is helping me with my cycle and with easing the pain and stiffness of rheumatoid arthritis as well as sleep problems. She also helps me with any other aches and pains that pop up, which I greatly appreciate. I am really glad that I have found Dr. Stephanie because she is very caring and knowledgeable. I feel very optimistic about my getting better with Dr. Stephanie’s help! :-)

I am so grateful for the healing that The People’s Acupuncture Clinic has to offer. Over the years I have used their acupuncture and herbal treatments as part of how I’ve addressed injuries and conditions including a torn meniscus, broken wrist, post menopause symptoms, and sympathetic nerve issues.
Each time I’ve experienced a gentle healing approach and have been more than satisfied with the results.

This is a great place. I can schedule my appointment online, and even pick which doctor I would like to see on my visit. I was made comfortable by Benjamin, who was very nice and accommodating, and wanted me to feel at ease and that my problems were going to be addressed. This is community acupuncture, which is important to know before going, meaning you will be going into a room with 1 – 8 (maybe more) people in there with you who are being treated at the same time. This allows the pricing to be much more affordable, which is great if you need or would like many treatments. The chairs are comfortable, and the ambiance was nice minus one older man who was snoring. I have trouble relaxing in the group atmosphere, so unfortunately I won’t be going back, but I did enjoy my first visit with The People’s Acupuncture Clinic.

the people’s acupuncture is an absolute treasure, a totally affordable oasis of calm. run by one of the loveliest couples i’ve ever met, the people’s acupuncture clinic features a sliding scale, making it accessible even to poor folks like me (i pay only $ 15 a treatment). in comparison to private acupuncture where a treatment can easily run upwards of $ 100, ben and masako are practically giving away their loving and attentive care. it’s done in one big room and everyone sits in reclining chairs. there’s a common sense whisper-​only policy, but people will probably be there to hear your list of ailments or how your bowel movements have been, so make sure you’re cool with the communal aspect of this place before you go. i absolutely love this place and have been going almost every week for over a year. i’d recommend it to anyone looking to try acupuncture or chinese herbal medicine, or for those who have been searching for a decently-​priced place to get their needle fix. call or drop in to schedule a consult, you’ll meet with either ben or masako and go over the super-​detailed health questionaire (available for download on their website), then receive your first treatment. plan on staying at least an hour. the location is also super-​convenient with plenty of free parking. viva la people’s acupuncture!
