I cannot give a high enough review here for the way in which Marci and her staff, cared for my beloved dog, after she had been hit by a car.
Ellie was given immediate attention and expert comfort care, despite this being our first visit. I was immediately reassured that despite my financial hardship, that they would work with me to establish a payment plan and to prioritize the urgent medical care she needed, taking into consideration both the immediate needs of Ellie and my ability to pay for exhaustive diagnostic testing.
Marci is a devoted and genuinely committed Veterinarian whose intuitive connection to the animals she cares for coupled with her expertise and skilled training, both reassured me that my dog would be cared for in the most compassionate manner and that her urgent medical needs would be expertly attended to, followed up on and resolved.
I cannot thank Marci and everyone else who cared for Ellie at the South Amherst Veterinary Hospital enough, for the attentiveness and compassion that they showed us both! I will never go anywhere else for the well care of Ellie or god forbid any future medical emergencies!

We’ve been taking our cats to Dr. Marci for the past 19 months, and I couldn’t be happier with our choice in vets in the area. She is compassionate and caring, and has helped us through some difficult times, including euthanizing our cat Tucker who had become seriously ill. She even sent us a condolence card 2 days later, and checked in on our family. The staff at South Amherst Veterinary Hospital totally dote on the patients. I highly recommend Dr. Marci and her staff to anyone who has animals.

They’re great with super shy dogs! The vet services here are reasonably priced and everyone who works here is friendly, patient, and knowledgable. I brought my new puppy in for his first visit (and as a new dog owner, it was intimidating for both of us) but they welcomed us and made him feel safe and happy!

Dr. Lowy is extremely knowledgeable, level-​headed, and communicative. Most of all, she is truly compassionate toward people and their pets. You can tell she’s special because she made frequent housecalls for many years before starting this practice, and still visits homes if necessary.
I met Dr. Lowy in the midst of a crisis, and I feel so lucky that she was the vet I landed with. My young cat became very ill soon after I moved to the area, and she fielded my last-​minute appointment with grace and concern. She really helped us to understand what his symptoms could mean and what our options were. When it became clear that his breathing was worsening, she came to our house on a Saturday evening (!!) to euthanize him so we wouldn’t have to do it at the hospital, even though we were new patients. I am so grateful to her for making a very difficult day and a very difficult decision easier to bear.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lowy as a caring and experienced veterinary practitioner. She’s who I’d want looking after my pets’ health, and definitely who I’d want as my point person in an emergency.
