History

Established in 2013.

Common Sense Defense was founded in 2013 in Northeast Ohio and provides crisis management planning services for daycare centers, school districts, colleges & universities, non-​profit organizations, and religious organizations. We assist leadership teams with the review, development, and execution of crisis management plans tailored to the individual needs of each organization. In addition, we provide training programs for organizational staff, work collaboratively with client stakeholders, and coordinate annual reviews and drills.

Meet the Business Owner

Molly T.

Business Owner

Molly Tyson is President and Lead Consultant for Common Sense Defense. She has two young children and is dedicated to ensuring that organizations that are children-​centered are prepared in the event of a crisis. Molly has worked in education for more than 15 years developing crisis management plans for all types of crises. Since the tragic events of Columbine and Sandy Hook, Molly has assisted several school districts with the implementation of violent intruder defense strategies. As violent intruder events are not limited to schools, she has expanded these services to all organizations. Molly is an A.L.i.C.E. certified instructor and volunteers for the American Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team and the Lorain County Community Emergency Response Team.
