History

Established in 1954.

The company was formed as a United Cerebral Palsy organization, but broadened its scope of service over the years to include children with a wide variety of disabilities. Our current facility was constructed in 1969.

The Center is a United Way partner agency and is supported by all the major foundations in Lorain County. Private organizations such as the Elks are also major contributors to the agencies programs.

The Center built a state of the art playground in 2011 with support from several Rotary clubs in Lorain County, Ronald McDoanlad House Charities, and Nordson Corporation Foundation. Local companies such as R.E. Rice Construction, Nordson, PolyOne and CenteryTel also made significant contributions towards completion of this major project.

The Center has grown outside its walls providing therapy servies to several public and private schools in and around Lorain County.
