Stand Up Pittsburgh is a full service stand up paddle board shop in Pittsburgh. We offer a wide selection of stand up paddle boards and all the gear to get you started in the fastest growing water sport in the world! We offer lessons for paddlers of all experience levels as well as tours on the rivers and lakes all around the Pittsburgh area! If you are an experienced paddler visit our shop to purchase a board for touring or racing. We also offer rental packages and have inflatable boards, perfect for traveling.

History

Established in 2010.

Stand Up Pittsburgh was created after owner, Ty Musser, a lifelong surfer, sailor and

all-​around waterman, tried stand up paddleboarding on the Ohio River outside his home in Sewickley, PA. His love of the water coupled with the ability to be on the river in minutes created a passion he wanted to share with others in the community. He has ignited a passion for SUP in his wife and children and many friends in Sewickley and all around Pittsburgh! He began researching and testing out the best boards and paddles and carries them at his shop, Stand Up Pittsburgh, located in Ambridge, PA.

Business Owner

Ty has grown up «on the water». His youth was spent lakeside and he has maintained his love and passion for the water by accessing the Ohio River just outside his home in Sewickley. He is an avid surfer (when traveling to FL, MD, DE and NC), wake boarder, and sailor (even sailing a yacht from Ft. Lauderdale to South America). His first priority is to have fun SAFELY while on the water. He is passionate about teaching folks how to stand up paddle and enjoy this amazing sport. He has been paddleboarding for 7 years and continues to participate in races and events locally and around the country.
