There is no place better to go for seafood. My daughter will only eat salmon from Sunny’s, everything else is second rate in her eyes. Both seafood and produce prices are good. I’m so glad that Sunny’s is available in my neighborhood.

If I wrote this review a year ago, it would have had a 4 star rating. But in the past 2 – 3 months, it has taken a slight downward turn. Their seafood is 4 stars, most of the time fresh and the owner behind the counter WILL tell you when it is very fresh, they are VERYGOOD this way. But the selection has declined. BTW, they have the best«dry» scallops north of the city. Just pan sear them 3 minutes on each side in a fiery, smoking hot skillet, and you have a magical delight visiting your taste buds. The veggies have taken a decline, aging is not a good quality in most vegetables. The pre-washed arugula and baby spinach are very good. Fruits in the summer are quite good, local peaches, tomatoes(yes, the tomato is a fruit), strawberries in season, etc. Some apples in the fall are average, and average in competitive pricing. The squash are a hit or miss, as well as the lemons, etc. In the summer time there are other produce stands within 5 miles or so which beat the prices and quality. In the fall and winter Sunny’s stand alone, unless you want to pay the high prices at Giant Do you get my drift = hit or miss, but when it is a hit, you’ve done well.

5 stars for the hospitality and kindness alone. Yes, visually, the store is nothing to write home about but for an area that doesn’t have a grocery store within walking distance, sunny’s fills a void. I love that it’s small and independently run. Yes there are a few herbs that are prob a few days away from being thrown away but the variety of veg and fruit is great and the fish selection, although kinda small, is very fresh. Today the tuna looked amazing — sushi grade beautiful. The prices are not bad. I’m happy sunny’s is here and I hope more people go and buy some produce and fish from these nice neighborhood folks.
