One word– delectable. The Asada burrito was cheap, delicious, and full of flavor. After being in the car for six hours, my boyfriend and I were determined to find a non fast food meal before we finished the drive to Albuquerque, NM. We were thrilled when Lupita’s came up on the list of Unilocal suggestions. Had to check it out and we are so thankful we did! We left with our tummies and wallets ecstatic! The tortillas are hand made, the meat is seasoned well, and the people who work there are unbelievably kind!

This is the kind of place that you dream of finding just down the street from your new house. Unfortunately, I didn’t move to Amarillo so this is not one of those places that I get to live near. I’m pretty sure they could care less if I write a review for them but I’m going to anyways. Tortilleria Lupito is beyond words, but here come a few to try to describe the experience. There is zero ambiance with this place. This place is a Tortilla factory that cooks up meats and torillas and little else. But oh what wonders they have done to those two. I tried everything but the chicken and it was all absolutely unreal. My personal favorite was the Asado Rojo. The Chile Verde was a very, very close 2nd. I spent the weekend in Amarillo and ate here twice. It’s really that good. Saturday is when the place is in full swing. They only have carnitas and tamales on Saturdays so get there early before they run out. The ladies in the kitchen rule the roost here and are churning out the tortillas faster than my brain was able to process. Everyone in the kitchen was having fun, laughing about the latest gossip and tasting things here and there. It was a brief visit to the area, but if I’m ever back in Amarillo, this will definitely be my first stop. I wonder if they’ll ship…

Stopped in for an order to go of the green chile pork. Got a 16 ounce container. Reheated for dinner. Wow. Spicy and tender. Wish there was more liquid because I made a burrito out of it and would have loved to smother it on top.

sure, it’s a hole in the wall tortilleria, but lupita’s earns 5 stars for their chile verde! i live in the dfw area, and when any of my relatives come to visit, i ask them to bring me one 32 oz container of chile verde… sometimes two! ;) it’s the best! and now when i go back to visit amarillo, i make sure to stock up. it freezes well, and my entire family loves it.

I would give a 10 star for the food. A 2 for the place. But hey i go to places to eat food not to state at the ceiling. Best burritos in town. Try the asada!

Limited menu. But what they offer is awesome! Place also makes fresh tortillas. Little old ladies working in the back. The carne asada burritos are to die for. I come here maybe 2 – 3 times per week.

Amazing Burritos. They get a 6 for food, but the unappealing interior, small parking lot, and distant location pull this down to a 4. I wish they’d do a trailer somewhere easier for everyone to get to like the Wolflin Village parking lot. They’d easily double their sales.

It’s a little hole in the wall but the burritos are amazing. I love the steak and the chile relleno. It’s across town but soo worth it.

Best burritos in town. Try the chile verde, or the bean and cheese. Great gorditas too. Nothing fancy but you can eat them there. Best corn tortillas in Amarillo. Cash only!
