Janis has practiced law since 1979. She graduated from Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University School of Law. She has previously worked in corporate practice, with Pioneer Corporation, Cabot Corporation, and at the Pantex Plant. She has been in private practice since 1995. Most of her work has been in the Texas Panhandle, although she practices across the State when she has clients with cases in other areas of Texas.

Janis Alexander Cross has practiced law in the Texas Panhandle since 1979. She attended Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University School of Law. She has worked in corporate practice (for Pioneer Natural Gas/​Pioneer Corporation, Cabot Corporation, and at the Pantex Plant). She also taught at West Texas A&M University. Janis has been in private practice since 1995, practicing predominently in the area of family law.
