La Fiesta Grande

We were just passing through Amarillo and decided to check Unilocal for a good local Mexican restaurant. La Fiesta Grande popped up with Great reviews and a location very close to interstate 40. We were not disappointed. The service was fast and friendly. The food was very tasty and well prepared. Presentation was very enticing. And their margarita was indescribably delicious. It is a shame I don’t live closer because we would be back on a regular basis. It is well worth the stop.

If I could give it a ZERO I would. Absolutely the WORST carry out in town. Waited over 30 minutes for 2 tamales and a taco!
Next time try TACO BELL

Where to start…
Atmosphere is cliché for a texmex restaurant and the bar is uncomfortable. Chairs are awkward feeling so you want to place your feet on something to balance your self. Chairs are to high off the ground to place them there and there is no rail off the bar. Your either left with dangling them off your seat swinging like a toddler or you gave to hold them in place on the chair. This turns into an exercise of endurance since you need to flex your legs to keep them pulled back in an unusual angle. If the exercise wasn’t bad enough the «Flaca Tacos» were a mess. Who ever thought to build lettuce wrap tacos with iceberg lettuce was a moron. They sent what turned out to be 4 thick triangles of lettuce on a plate piled with poorly seasoned chicken scraps tossed with corn and black beans. I couldn’t get one in my mouth.
I’d say the only reason I’d come back is to see if there is a woman out there who can fit those tacos in her mouth so i can propose marriage.

I came here based on the previous reviews and thought this would be a ‘must visit’ while here in Amarillo. Boy are these reviews misleading! I was brought to my table and the first thing I noticed was food on the floor. Upon pointing it out the hostess statex, «I guess I need to sweep that up.» REALLY! ?!? That should have been my cue to leave but wait, there’s more! As I sat at the table I noticed that there was salt all over it. When my waitress came, I asked for napkins to clean it up while pointing it out to her. She apologized, left and came back with chips, salsa and water then asked me what would I like to drink? I ordered a beer plus those napkins. She said she forgot. She brought back the beer but no napkins. I went ahead and ordered the chicken and steak fajitas with corn tortillas. Ten minutes later I got my order plus those napkins! Of course, I also got flour tortillas! !! After sending those back, I tried the food and the steak was so rubbery that I couldn’t eat it. The corn tortillas were hard. However, the beer was cold! This was a bad experience.

Tasty and a great local place. It’s nice to find authentic tex-​mex close to all the hotels that’s not a chain. Food was fast and our server was super friendly. Try the fried stuffed avocados!

Great margaritas and even better food!

Great Margarita’s Food excellent, staff very friendly, especially Bridgette our server. it’s important for a server to initiate a conversation about where you’re from etc… especially when the Texans notice our Wisconsin .non accent. It increases the likability factor of the person and the restaurant. I recommend this food to everyone! Salsa and warm tortilla chips upon seating is great touch as well

Fair to Medium Tex-​Mex Enchiladas! My family and I are local’s. We use to eat there now and then but the last few times it was on a down hill roll; We all became sick after the meal, something didn’t taste right when we ate it; Against our better judgement we ate it anyway. The chips and hot sauce are always good thou, along with the queso too. The price is commensurate with quality and quantity.
I wouldn’t recommend it because of the last two visits we had. They use to serve some really good TexMex yrs ago. There are better Tex-​Mex Restaurants in town.

Good food for the price
