Fort Amarillo Rv Park & Resort

We enjoyed two quiet nights at Fort Amarillo on our trip back across the country. We arrived after hours and were left all of our information at the front door as promised. Great customer service when dealing with the front office by phone and in person. They have a very nice dog park, and the wifi and cable worked great! Thank you for a great stay in Amarillo.

Booked a night at this park on our drive home to California. We arrived much later than expected. They told us that they’d be closed at the time of our arrival but there would be a board with our name and space number and that if we had any concerns that there would be a number we could call. When we arrived at 1:30am, there was no paper with our name and space number. What we found was a sheet that gave available spaces for those checking in at night so we drove through the park searching for those sights hoping to avoid having to wake the camp host. Unfortunately when we drove through, those sites were taken so we had no choice but to call. The gentleman was very helpful and gave us our site. Later that morning we apologized for waking him and he was very kind. Even made a joke saying that when he heard the phone, he thought it was his alarm telling him it was already time to wake up. They had free coffee and a beautiful store to browse through with so many gorgeous and unique things. Their sites were big and clean. We’d definitely stay here again.

I give it 2 stars only because it had full hookups. The showers are in a bathroom connected to the store. No stall, just a shower with a curtain. You have to get ready at the bathroom sink. No shade. Not dog friendly. There are small patches of grass at each site and some grass out front. You have to lug your trash to the entrance. Just very disappointed and CANNOT believe Good Sam rated 9÷10÷10!

Loved this park so much I added another night. Traveling with 3 kids and they adored the playground and indoor pool. Showers were clean. Close to interstate but you couldn’t hear it. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Gift shop on site puts Cracker Barrell to shame! Wifi was decent, cable not so much. Biggest complaint would be the smell of cow manure when the winds changed, but they can’t help that!

Campsites clean and easy access.
Indoor pool and hot tub. Sounds nice.
Pool was not warm. so OK I will skip that. Hot tub nice at 104 degrees… however not clean as I felt a lot of dirt on seats and only 2 out of 10 jets worked… okay still relaxing.
But no Internet password listed so had to use my own data. .and TV cable also did not work…
Almost no water pressure. Had to use my water pump just to flush toilet or wash.
so out of all the listed amenities. .I would say I’m due. 50% refund… but again if it’s a stop for the night?. Maybe but since all I really got was electricity I think I could have used generator and about 5. oo in gas instead if 30 something to plug in.
Again mixed reviews… maybe they are in process of improving. …let’s hope.

This place was great! We got in after office hours and left again early in the morning but their staff took great care of us by clearly marking directions and leaving campground info for us. The site was very clean, utilities appeared to be well maintained too! I’d stay there again!
