Mark Wells Golf Instruction

I’ve only been coming to Mark for four lessons and have already seen solid improvements in my ball striking. Mark focuses on the fundamentals rather than quick fixes. He focuses on the details, is patient with his explanations, and sends videos of your swing along with a narrative on what to improve. I would suggest getting a package of six lesson minimum to work on your game. There are no quick fixes in golf.

I just completed my first lesson with Mark today, and signed up for 8 lessons after being really pleased with the results and takeaways from our first session. I appreciate Mark’s clear instructional style, and he provides just the right amount of corrections and adjustments so that you can intuitively build upon each new point. I was really surprised how much more natural my swing felt after the first session, and we ended the session with a very reasonable amount of practice «homework» so that I know what to focus on until the next session.
Also, the Pin High Golf Center where he teaches has a grass range and small practice course! It wasn’t crowded at 2 PM on a beautiful Saturday, so you really can’t ask for a better location for lessons either.

I’ve been playing golf on and off for about 12 years with no formal golf instruction, and there began a long history of poor golf mechanics. No matter how much I practiced, I remained inconsistent. Some days… my clubs are on fire. Other days, I shank every other shot. Three lessons later, I’m in the process of rebuilding a very very different swing that is so much more consistent and effective.
One of the most important things that Mark has taught me is that the golf swing is comprised of a hundred moving parts. If any one component of the swing is off, then your body does some crazy things to try to compensate, throwing your entire swing out of whack. So we started from the ground up, from the grip, to the stance, to the aim. It’s humbling to be learning these fundamentals after 12 years of golf — but I cannot overstate the importance of letting Mark work with you on the BASICS.
Mark has done a great job balancing golf concepts and theory (i.e. understanding the physics of golf and the mechanics of the golf swing) and applications (the adjustments to the swing). This theory has really helped reinforce the lessons. I’ve worked with other golf instructors who just tell you to do this or do that… but Mark actually explains the WHY.
Mark also uses slow motion camera technology to capture your swing, and he added a voiceover to the video. In that video, he addressed my aim, grip, spine angle, takeaway, and much more. I was able to watch this video over and over again to help the lesson stick. Huge bonus.

Been taking lessons from Mark for about 2 years. Probably 6 – 8 lessons total so far.
I’m not very athletic and have never been able in the past to have any success with golf. Mark’s instruction has given me hope for my game. He is able to explain in a clear manner, what corrections are necessary, and I can immediately translate those instructions to changes in my swing. I still have a long way to go, but now can hit a very nice golf shot.
Took my 24 year old son to a couple of lessons. He’s been on a course no more than five times. We had a lesson Saturday and Sunday my son shot an 88 at Poplar Creek in San Mateo & had an eagle on a par 5 hole

My wife and I just had a private lesson with Mark. he is very patient, experienced. we surely got a lot from him and started loving this game. we would recommend him to our friends. their course is so close to where I work, so I would go there to practice often.

Great Instructor!!! Friendly, affordable, knowledgeable. Figures out how to make you understand what he is trying to teach, instead of just saying «Do this, or do that…» Has allowed for my mind to communicate with my body… He can teach veteran golfers, or first-timers…Other Bonuses: (1) Uses Video technology, but does not overwhelm you with it. (2) Doesn’t talk too much (3)Teaches at Pin High which has grass range, short games, bunkers, and 3-​hole course for practice.

Hi Mark:
Just wanted to give you an update. Since the lesson you gave me about 2 months ago, I have not shot a game over 100. Furthermore, yesterday I finally broke 90. Yes! I shot an 88, my best score ever, and I did it on a 126 slope course (Santa Theresa).
I enjoy golf sooooooooooooooo much more now, you have no idea. When my swing goes wrong now, I now know how to correct it, because I finally know what the hell I was doing wrong. It’s easy for me to get my swing back after errant shots. It’s awesome.
Anyway, I’ll be coming to you again in the near future to work on my driver. Although I shot an 88, my improvements have come as a result of my irons (the lesson you gave me was with my irons from the fairway). In my round of 88, I only landed on the fairway 3 times. Overall though, even my driving is much improved (although I don’t use my driver, I use my 5 wood off the tee).
Never the less, my scores continue to now be in the low 90’s and as of yesterday, high 80’s. I love it. I enjoy golf more, and it doesn’t matter on what course I play. My game has improved so much that I can basically shoot in the low 90’s on more difficult courses I have never previously played.
Thank you sooooooooooo much. I’ve already referred one person to you and I expect she will be contacting you soon. I also have another friend who is interested. My friends are all shocked at how good I’ve gotten in such a short time. I tell them it is the lesson I got from you.
