Oakwind is the perfect venue for any event– beautiful grounds and interior, onsite wedding planner who takes care of every detail, delicious food and cake. I had my wedding there last month and received so many compliments from friends/family. Everything is included in the package and you just need to hire a florist and photographer(which they provide a listing). They offer so many different areas(indoor, outdoors, even in a cute barn) to have your wedding on the estate. Magnificant oak trees everywhere you look! You will be in the best hands ever with Ann running your event. She is such a positive, sweet, kind person. Be sure and check it out!

This venue refused to host my wedding due to discrimination based on sexual orientation. If you support the LGBT community, please be sure to take your business elsewhere.

Recently attended a wedding here. The ceremony was outdoors near the front, the buffet in the house and the reception in the back. The food was fajitas and was pretty tasty, though awkwardly arranged that made it difficult to build that fajitas effectively. The house and grounds were really charming. I’m didn’t get a view of the B&B aspect of the place, but it’s a cute little wedding venue.

This place is so beautiful. Ann is very awesome and accommodating. She made the day better than I had ever imagined it could be. Everyone is so friendly and the vendors were awesome. I got so many compliments on our wedding.

Ann Rieves the wedding planner was very accommodating. On the day of my daughter’s wedding, it rained all day. Ann assured us the rain would pass. Twenty minutes before the wedding the sun shone. What a beautiful day. When most wedding planners would give up and make inside arrangements, Ann perservered! She is very detail oriented; a great wedding planner. Beautiful ceremony, great food, wonderful reception. You could not ask for a better venue. Very affordable as well. We will never forget Oakwind nor the generosity and grace of wedding planner Ann Rieves. Fantastic! Mom of bride. Dec. 21, 2014

Went to a wedding here. That’s after I got lost in Alvin and had to stop and search google a few times to find an accurate way here. It’s a terrible location. I understand it is supposed to be secluded, but my advice would be to call ahead and talk to someone there who can guide you, because all the county roads show up under different names in the GPS and Internet world. So just call ahead and you’ll thank me. Just look for the place you think Mitt Romney might daylight at and you’re there. Ok, so now that you’re there you can take a deep breath and relax. The people there are really nice and attentive to your needs. Provided you have a need when there is an open bar at the wedding, mariachis, a DJ, and a frickin’ ICECREAMBAR. Not an Ice Cream«Bar» like a rocket pop… but a bar where you can go and load up on as much Ice Cream as you WANT… man…my inner fat kid was sated, you have any idea how hard that is to do?! Awesome idea to whoever came up with that. The outside are where the reception was held was gorgeous, lots of shade due to the big beautiful trees. In the evening they would turn on the hanging lights that were strung up throughout the yard and it was really nice. The dance floor was nice, seeing as I can’t dance for crap. I would give it a 5⁄5 because it’s been as good as any dance floor I might have stared at longingly. The food was good, we started with salads that were really good. The lettuce was crisp and it had peanuts in it, they served bowls of ranch and a vinaigrette I want to say. I had the ranch, but my friend had the vinaigrette and really enjoyed it so that’s all I have to say about that. The entrée was a chicken in mushroom sauce I wanna say. I just remember it was a little cold because we were greeting the wedding party when it was served so the wind got the better of it. It was still pretty great, oddly enough I remember the carrots served with it the best because I wanted more haha. The night went on and the servers kept the tables managed really well, you didn’t have crap strewn all over the place which happens a lot at weddings I’ve been too. So good job on keeping it clean. We were shooed out at 10 pm, and lots of photos were taken. Overall it was a wonderful and amazing reception, but I can’t rate it on my company and the wedding couple alone.

Recently I was in a friend’s wedding at Oakwind. The place was so quaint! There are several outdoor areas around the property for use for any event. My favorite spot is under the huge oak trees in the back yard. There’s white twinkly lights hanging from them and the place is just magical feeling after the sun goes down. I would not recommend a summer event here though — the heat can get pretty brutal anywhere outside in Texas, and there’s just not enough space inside for a large group to have an event. The event coordinator was absolutely awesome! She was totally on top of her game! She took care of everything that day and from what the bride said, she was also easy to work with ahead of time and returned calls promptly.
