Laid Back Books

Awesome place, super friendly and helpfull.

Great place to pick up a leisure read. This one is lovingly curated and is especially good on the page-​turner genre. Good prices, even compared to other used bookstores. Good for Alvin ISD required reading. Friendly, informed staff (the owner) and a no hurry attitude.

How could I resist this place with a name like Laid Back Books?
Like all used bookstores, you can’t judge them on inventory alone because they are so dependant on what is brought to them… but Laid Back Books has an entire old farmhouse full of books of every genre. From floor to ceiling, every room has well labeled, alphabetized books and magazines. Even the garage is filled with well organized and well selected books.
There is a children’s picture book room that has well displayed books on library-​like magazine display shelves so that small children can easily choose a good book. I really appreicate the thoughtfulness of this room.
My first visit was near Eastertime, so the owner had a display table with easter books. complete with chocolate easter eggs for her guests.
She also has all of her books cataloged and on her computer so she an actually tell you if she has the title you are looking for.
