I love Chubbys! The food is good & affordable & you have way more choices than going to fast eddies!

I was there when the group of 30 plus showed up. Like most small bars they weren’t staffed for that many people all at once. Then a couple of the women in that group became very demanding to the point the bartender was crying. They did the best they could. And yes the owner/manager in the kitchen is rude. Food was

The cooks were very very Rude! The bartender was alone and crying because she was overwhelmed! We took a party bus of 30 people and none of them will ever return. The cook told one of the ladies to get the fuck out when she asked about her food she never got. We will never return to this bar!!!

Good atmosphere and cheap food with a decent selection. The kitchen staff are a little rude sometimes. Bartenders are very friendly though.

Stopped in for a drink with a group of 6 Saturday night. The place is pretty cool, the bartender was very friendly and accommodating as well. I hear they have good food, but we didn’t try it. They did have live music too. We will be back

Good cheap food with a nice selection of pub food. Not horrible when crowded & free popcorn. Parking can be limited but it’s ok to walk from farther lots. Nice place out front to park motorcycles. Bartenders are young and tended to wait on men first thinking they leave better tips which isn’t always the case however they did move fast.

When I walk into a bar and there is a snotty sign that there is no free water I just want to walk out. So it is too hard to give a patron a glass of water? Problem #1. Then your $ 4 draft beer is served in plastic glasses. Problem #2PLASTIC. the food was very average. The bartender was friendly. Fast Eddies has nothing to worry about here.

You need to get new bartenders. She was NOT friendly and I DIDNOT appreciate it. She said if I didn’t order a drink I had to leave… I left. Here’s what happened: She said, «What can I get you to drink?» And before I could answer her she said in a snotty tone, «Well, I need to see your ID first.» My boyfriend is 18 days older than I and she didn’t card him. I said, «Did you card him?» and she said, «No…» and I told her I didn’t think that was fair. So, she said, «You either order a drink or leave.» So I left.

In my opinion, this place is better than fast eddies. Better drinks and food… a plus for me.

Instead of turning right on to Broadway coming from the Clark Bridge to go Fast Eddies, I recommend you turn left, go down two blocks and to your right you will find a place much better than Eddie’s tourist attraction. Chubby’s more expansive menu has you covered and cheap. We’ve never had a bad run in here. The drinks are great, the food is cheap and if you want to avoid the crowd, this is the place to be. We choose place any day over Fast Eddies simply because the food is tastier, bigger variety, and its just as affordable.

Chubby’s is a great second choice to Fast Eddies. The food here is just as good as Fast Eddies without the huge crowd of people. I have eaten there several times and will continue to go back because I like the atmosphere and the food is pretty good. They don’t have the huge outdoor area like Fast Eddies but they do have a place to go out and smoke that’s better than standing by the street which is nice. This place kind of has the biker thing going on too just like Fast Eddies its just so much more laid back and not tons of people shoulder to shoulder.

If you are not in the mood for the fast eddies crowds, this is the place to go. Burgers are good and the service isn’t too bad either.

Went there for lunch today we had burgers and fries for two and was only 5 bucks they were great the bad thing about the place is there is only one bartender and no waitress to come around for drink orders that sucks other than that it is a place to check out.

I took clients to Chubby’s for lunch today. This is Fast Eddie’s Light. Make that VERY light. The food was excellent as was the service. There really isn’t much to the place however. The only atmosphere was Michelle the bartender! Don’t get me wrong, the food was outstanding and the prices are embarrassingly low. Chubby’s offers Fast Eddie’s-style food without the wait. My recommendation after crossing the Clark Bridge is to stop at Chubby’s to eat and then go get your beer on at Fast Eddie’s. Our order for 4 of us consisted of two philly cheese steaks, a cheeseburger, two chicken kabobs, two tacos, three orders of fries, and two sides of boom boom sauce. The boom boom sauce, which was a southwest-chipotle, dipping sauce was great and the name inspired some colorful jokes. The grand total for the food was $ 17.50! Everyone’s food was great. Personally, I ate the chicken kabobs which were grilled perfectly. Similar to Fast Eddie’s, you order food at a counter, they give you a number and then call you when your food is ready. We then bellied up and $ 6 later had four sodas(I resisted the urge to try a Bud Light). Make sure to bring cash because they don’t take plastic. Chubby’s is an excellent place to stop for a quick, cheap, tasty bite in Alton.
