The Scarlet Easel came about after a fun-filled event one winter evening at Canvas and Cocktails in Denver, Colo. (We have to give credit where credit is due.). It was so much fun that I couldn’t stop talking about it. Two nights later, when my «little sister» was visiting, I found myself in another class and having just as much fun. My poor sister had a migraine that evening though never complained (what a sport.). She walked away having had so much fun and a better painting than I did. I think that says a lot if you can have a migraine and still paint, dance, sing and have fun at the same time.
Inspired by the whole experience we decided to bring the concept to Central Florida. Since neither of us had been in an art class since elementary school, we partnered with Canvas and Cocktails to make sure it was done right…
History
Established in 2011.
The Scarlet Easel opened Oct. 21, 2011 in Uptown Altamonte. The studio is owned by sisters Karen Woodall and Amye Adkins. The duo strives to provide an art outlet for the community through painting classes, special events and fundraisers!
