SpringHill Suites Orlando Altamonte Springs/Maitland

Staff nice. Location is fine. Room is on small side. Mostly it’s fine. Biggest issue by far: The air conditioning. In order to cool the room the setting it requires is so loud it’s IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. You either sweat or your cool and don’t sleep. You simply have to make that choice.
And the air conditioning sits 6 inches from the bed. Won’t be back.

Room was to be ready at 3pm. Got here at 3:30 and they said it would be another hour. Ended up being helpful to get me in.

I planned an event here with the coordinator Nicole. She completely forgot about the event and the day of my party planner was locked out of the event room. Kenny and Carlos are the saving grace for this un organized establishment.

This hotel is great! They have great amenities, clean room, soft beds, cool clean smell inside rooms!!! The staff was super friendly and engaged in relatable conversation to connect with the guests! The only thing that i would want them to change is to make the breakfast earlier! I was on a business trip and had to be out by 6 am and couldn’t take advantage of the free breakfast! Other than that, I would totally come back :)

Actually if I could give a negative one star, I would! How very disappointed I am with how I was treated by management at this hotel. I inadvertently booked the wrong Spring Hills Marriott Hotel. My conference was by the airport, 20 miles away. I booked online with Marriott using my Marriott Rewards account. I arrive at the hotel in Altamonte to find I made a mistake, onward I go to the correct Spring Hills Marriott located at 5828 Hazeltine National Dr, by the airport in Orlando. The manager, the personnel were so accommodating and thoughtful and empathized with my plight. Meanwhile the general manager at the Altamonte Springs location never bothered to return my call and advised the reservation clerk in Orlando, he would not approve providing me a credit. I call the main office of Marriott and was treated very nicely, but was advised my fate was in the hands of the general manager of the Spring Hills Altamonte location. We humans are infallible, we make mistakes. The manager of the Orlando location said it’s happened at his location and he’s honored a situation like mine. He realizes the importance of treating someone fairly with an honest mistake, and if someone stays within the Marriott family, he does his best to be accommodating. That’s how the manager of the Altamonte location «should have» treated me. People in the hospitality industry truly need to be hospitable! :(Yes, I am severely disappointed!

The hotel was fine and neat but the beds were not firm at all. I would’ve liked to have a king but even thought the hotel looked empty they said they did not have one. They did seem to have a breakfast but we did not try it.

Staying here for family medical needs. Location is great for food and I-​4 access. Traffic patterns can be a little tricky if you aren’t familiar wit O town/​Apopka.
Staff is friendly. Breakfast is better than some, not as good as others. Rooms are on the cramped size w/​small closet (1 per room) and 2 very small drawers under the TV for storage.
Wifi is free and included. Overall, clean and the AC seems to work well.

I have never stayed overnight here, just held some meetings. For holding meetings, it’s kind of tricky because the meeting rooms are upstairs and the restrooms downstairs.
There is only one toilet per gender, so if you are holding a meeting, people will have to wait. Other than that, it’s ok. Depending on how many people you are expecting, the meeting room may or may not be crowded.
The staff is friendly and helpful if asked for help.

Nice hotel. Recently remodeled. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But the sheets to the bed don’t fit. Not sure why some hotels put smaller sheets on the bed. This hotel puts queen sheets on a King bed. WHY??? As soon as I get into bed and pull the sheets and comforter up the sheets pull out of the bed and my feet are sticking out. Really!!! You just spent a small fortune remodeling this hotel, spend a few more bucks and buy King sheets… I either have my feet stick out or I can’t pull the sheets/​comforter up to cover me… which way to go… which way to go
If the sheets were normal I would give them 4 or 5 stars… but not having sheets that fit = not a good night’s sleep = a different hotel next time…

Wow… maybe things have improved over the past year because I totally disagree with Luis’ review.
We drove from CA to FL over 7 days. Yes… we took the scenic route. With me, my Honey, 2 kids, and a dog in tow… we had to find ways to dilute the insanity :-)
Meanwhile, we stayed at a number of hotels like the SpringHill Suites. Our main criteria when choosing accommodations were a) a suite so we could have «separate» sleeping quarters, b) a breakfast bar with fresh waffles, c) an indoor pool would be a bonus.
Well… wouldn’t you know it… the last hotel of the trip turned out to be the best hotel. The hotel staff was super nice. The room was in great condition, as were the amenities. True, it would’ve been nice to have room service. But there are plenty of eating establishments nearby and even within walking distance.
It’s nestled right in the heart of things on 436, near the Altamonte Mall.
In fact, go to Kohinoor for some take out Indian food and just bring it back to your room. That’s what we did ;-)
