Lofts At Uptown Altamonte

What a scam. Looks good from the outside but within 2 weeks of living here you realize that’s about all it offers, the curb appeal and close proximity to the ever so shitty Crane’s Roost Park are over-​rated. Don’t waste your money.

I want to particularly, reply to the comment, of Craig D. To each its own.
I just wonder how much, did manager, took off of your rent, for you to post an a$$ kissing review, and how creditable that review is, if that review, is THE ONLY review, that you have on your Unilocal account. Why don’t you got up stairs, early morning and see all these puddles on carpet/​stairs /​and or in elevator? Why don’t you, go up on the third floor and open the garage door and smell all that urine that comes from the carpet (how do I know? Well, because that’s where, I had parked most of the time, for being a resident of the first floor with no assigned parking spots, I had to drive God know where to find me a spot) Did I said how tight the garage is?
And back to the quality of their aprts. The appliances hadn’t been change since the building got built and the carpet is so cheap that the corners of it, gets torn apart and with the staple needles sticking out (just watch when it gets your foot).How about the A/​C that got issues 4 times during our 2.5 years of stay and it flooded all the laundry room floor and a part of the carpet. Also have you noticed, how nasty in the halls, when it’s raining and how about the computer room, with half of the computers not working. And what is this, that in «luxury-​not» apts, YOU REALLY, DONT NEED A FOB BC ANYONE CAN COME INSIDE, OF THE BUILDING JUST BY PUSHING THE GARAGE DOOR ON ANY FLOOR AND TAKE AN ELEVATOR, OR JUST GO UP STAIRS, AND SECURITY DONT GIVE A CRAP (have you noticed, there rarely any in the mornings).IF WE PAY THIS MONEY, I EXPECT, MARBLE COUNTERS (NOT a sticker counters) STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES, HIGHER SECURITY LEVEL OF A BUILDING ENTRY, A DOG PARK AND NOT SO CHUBBY ATTITUDE OF THE MAIN AND DOOR CREW PERSONAL. TWO GOOD THINGS-​LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE GUYS.

I lived here for almost 3 years and only recently moved out, and to be honest, it’s really not that great (but that doesn’t mean it’s bad).
LOCATION
It probably can’t get any better for the area. It’s right by Crane’s Roost so you can walk around the lake whenever you want to. It’s right by the mall so you can walk around the mall whenever you want to (sorta). It’s really convenient to anything ‘cos you’re by the busy part of 436 in Altamonte Springs.
But at the same time, Uptown Altamonte never really developed. There is still an empty, fenced-​off field across and to the sides of the building which makes it seem just a tad unsightly when driving in or looking out if that’s where you’re facing.
QUALITY
At first glance, everything at this place seems to be of good quality. But after a while, you’ll find out that it’s really not the greatest. Something was strange with our pipes (it would make this weird sound whenever you turn on the water) but we learned to live with it. Some areas of the bathroom were not sealed/​caulked properly. Some of the carpet staples were sticking up from the ground so we’d often get a nasty poke whenever we were walking on the edges. The windows are not insulated very well so noise from outside that echoes up can really get into your apartment. Air doesn’t circulate very well either, which makes me wonder if the 10ft ceilings were even worth it.
When we pointed out some of the things that can be fixed by them, they claimed that they came to fix them, but we didn’t really see a big improvement. So we just learned to live with it.
COMMUNITY
When we first moved in, majority of the apartments were still empty, but I think that now it’s actually at pretty high capacity. At least it seems that way because I ran into more people in the hallways, more cars on my floor in the garage, and more noise from outside in general.
The bad thing about this is that there are also more people with pets living there. And those with dogs especially. I don’t think that a day goes by where I don’t see a pee stain in the hallway, or in the elevators. It’s pretty disgusting.
They try to do a good job cleaning the carpets, but it’s nowhere often enough to keep up with the amount of pee these dogs seem to produce. Now, I don’t hate ‘em. I just wish they wouldn’t pee in the public areas.
The events that they have for residents seem to be pretty interesting. I’ve only gone to about 4 or 5 of them during my entire stay, and they were decent but nothing spectacular. I actually found that watching the Red, Hot & Boom fireworks from the multi-​purpose room upstairs ruined the effect. It was similar to watching fireworks on TV and that you’re not really there. It’s a lot better to just walk downstairs, and find a spot about 20 steps away.
MANAGEMENT
Everyone that I’ve dealt with have been friendly and courteous. The folks at the courtesy desk are the best. They are willing to help you out with your packages if you need it.
PARKING
This is quite possibly the biggest negative this place has to offer. The garage parking is convenient and all but it’s claustrophobic. So be very careful when navigating the turns. Also, each apartment is only provided one parking pass. An extra pass is another $ 25.
Parking for guests is so limited that most of our guests end up having to park across the street and sandy hill in the empty lot by Marshall’s.Not so very uptown, after all.
PRICE
Personally, based on the things I’ve listed above, and also the size of the apartment, I feel that the apartments are overpriced. The price would be appropriate if Uptown Altamonte had actually developed fully, and if the quality was actually up to par.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I will miss living in this place, but I was more than ready to move on as well. The convenience would be the biggest thing that I will miss, but it’s not enough to sustain my expense on the rent. For reference, I was in a 1300 sq ft ²⁄₂ split plan apartment on the 5^th floor.

Clean, friendly staff, great amenities, amazing location! What more can I say. Love it!
