I’m a vegetarian so when my daughter craves a burger I go here for her. She says it’s great! Also, if you are Muslim it’s HALAL!!! WOOT!

Place is a bit small on the inside. How ever the service is fast and friendly and the food comes out fast.

I was craving FISH&CHIPS all day and was recommended to this place by a good friend. I came with the expectation that I would be eating the kind of Fish & Chips you’d find in a British pub where you get a big hunk of fish, deep-fried in batter with chips, crispy on the outside, and moist and steaming hot on the inside. Well, you won’t and you don’t. I ordered the red snapper, chicken, and lamb burger. Here’s the verdict: FISHANDCHIPS: The fish reminded me of the those boxes of breaded fish fillet in the refrigerated section of supermarkets and the preparation was pan fried. The crinkle chips that came with the fish also came out of a bag. They were deep fried and served. CHICKEN: The picture of the chicken in the restaurant looked way better. The portions were small, not much seasoning, and dry. LAMBBURGER: Not much flavor and dry. COLESLAW: I have to admit it was pretty good. Overall, the experience I got from the food was like that of home cooking with off-the-shelf, pre-packaged frozen food from your local grocery store, reheated and served. Bland and flavorless.(Yes, I’m being redundant. I know.) All portions were small except for the chips, which came with all three orders. I’m not sure what to make of this place, but I would definitely not call it a restaurant. The quality of the food has a close resemblance to elementary cafeteria food served by lunch ladies with hair nets.

This is a good grab and go dinner! It was very homestyled and fresh. We got the grouper, which was really great. It wasn’t expensive either. This is a pretty nice hole-in-the-wall if you ask me.

I came here with my wife on a Friday afternoon. I’d been wanting to come here for a few months but wasn’t able to get around to coming until recently due to distance. I was not impressed, to say the least. Service(2⁄5) We were the only people at the restaurant. After placing our order, it took over half an hour for us to receive our food. We ordered the fried chicken, fish & chips, lamb burger, and hot dog. When we placed our order, we made sure everything was Halal. I wanted to order the chili fries, too, but he said the chili is not Halal, so we didn’t get that. The cook is a nice guy and I think I could be friends with him, but he’s a slow cook. He made everything one at a time. As in, he didn’t start making the fish until the chicken was done. And he didn’t make the burger until the fish was done. About 25 minutes after we ordered, he was about to start making the hot dog. I saw a «Hebrew National» bag in his hand and I asked him again, «Are your hot dogs halal?» After realizing I knew his hot dogs were Kosher(and not Halal), he made up an excuse saying that it’s usually halal but they ran out but kosher is the same thing. I replied with, «No, it’s not.» Then he argues back with, «Yeah, they’re the same.» Um… no. To a Muslim, they’re not. To a Jew, they’re not. Kosher and Halal are different. It really made me question whether anything was actually halal at the restaurant. He assured me that the rest of our order was so we ate it, but at that point, I didn’t know what to trust out of his mouth. We are definitely not coming back again. Honesty is important to me. NOTE: If halal matters to you, make sure the food you’re receiving is actually halal. Food(4⁄5) The food we received tasted good. The fried chicken and lamb burger were really good, especially for the price. The fish & chips were okay(we got white fish). The cole slaw was good, too. Overall, not impressed. The food takes a long time to make, questionable whether anything is actually Halal here, and there is literally nowhere to sit inside so it’s really just a place to get food to-go.

finally went to this place after driving by daily for the past 3 years. a tiny place attached to an office, outside seating only at 3 patio tables, 4 parking spots, across from a school, so be ready for a herd of kids to come in at anytime. we ordered the halal chicken and an order of fish and chips. the chicken was good but small. moist and seasoned well(little heavy on the celery seed), really hot since it was just fried, served with french fries, a slice of wheat bread, and coleslaw(slaw is a little sweet — has raisins). we got the fried snapper — cornmeal batter. good seasonings, small portion. but the price is great, so just order more. for two orders of two piece chicken, and a fish and chips, plus two drinks it came out to only $ 12~. Will be back

I am a regular at this spot for three reasons:(1) Their food is delicious, you can taste the love and quality ingredients that go into their cooking,(2) Their prices are unbeatable for the quality and portions they serve, and(3) Their chicken and meat are halal which is important to me, since I only eat meats that are slaughtered humanely(kosher/halal). Even if halal wasn’t an issue, I would come here because the selection and quality are great. I’ve had their friend chicken, fried snapper, hamburgers, lamb burgers, candied yams, greens, fries, and everything was delicious. It’s a local shop worth supporting! They also cater at very competitive prices!

I’ve walked to other take out places in Altadena for lunch and basically ignored this hole-in-the-wall business, for over a year. Finally, it’s raining and this is close, so I ran over and ordered the Lamb Burger with fries at the tiny counter. Fifteen minutes later I’m munching on a perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb burger in a fresh bun with all the fixings plus(perfectly cooked and seasoned) french fries. Will definitely be back.
