Canine Obedience College

They board the dogs in a shed in their backyard. All night barking. Barking during the day. It is unbelievable that they are able to get away with doing this. The dogs bark every night around 10 and every morning around 630 like crazy. Not to mention if there is something like a rabbit that goes by in the middle of the night they bark and bark. Not to mention the smell of dog crap, which is always nice when swimming or entertaining. All the neighbors are tired of it but nobody does anything. I cannot believe people would board their dogs here.

My husband and I brought our dog Ace to K9 and Amanda was our dog’s one on one trainer. Our dog has «fear aggression» and we thought private lessons would be more helpful for him than group lessons. This place was the best thing for him! He has learned so much and we’ve even been able to have some family over now that we know how to handle Ace around people. Amanda is tough as nails and our dog immediately followed her like a pack leader. After a couple sessions he even licked her! That’s a true sign of a trainer making a difference in a dog’s life. When a dog-​that people are afraid of-​repeatedly licked her on the face you know she’s doing something right! We can’t wait to go back again.

3 Weeks of Board Training, After Trainers Demonstration STILL, No sit, No Stay, No Down, No Come without multiple corrections, Down was Trainers foot on leash! & leashing wasn’t great either! I called Trainer Next Day to Give our feedback on how unsatisfied we were, Trainer gave excuses and shrugged us off, We Called 2 other ranked Trainers w/​30 yrs experience, we were told it is really unethical to take pups in til there at least 16 weeks old, ours was 11 weeks old.
Also when they take a dog in for board training they only take home 1 dog home at a time not multiple dogs, and a dog should learn the basics (sit, stay, come, down, heal) after about 3 days with a 70% listening ratio due to being a pup. Our Dog which is a Laberdoodle (Pretty intelligent) doesn’t respond verbally without multiple corrections to any commands & leashing is about the same!

Before you pay anything find out exactly what they promise! Get it in writing!
Don’t pay until you see results!
Our advice is go elsewhere! We Wasted $ 700.00 at Canine Obedience College for excuses!

We took our dog here for obedience classes, 8 weeks for $ 150 which is cheaper than the park district and they seemed way more knowledgeable. Don’t expect anything fancy… it is in a warehouse and when it was cold outside it was cold inside there, but I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for basic classes. The instructors were very patient, and gave great advice for problems such as barking, chewing, jumping, and socialization. Our dog learned to sit, stay, turn, slow down, and overall listen better. The classes meet once a week, and if you have to miss a class they let you make it up with no additional fee, which is great!
