I absolutely agree with the previous reviewer. While it is fun to ice skate outdoors, the rink is small and overpriced. When our group went, there was a medium sized puddle that was forming that made it very hard to skate and made the skating area much smaller than it already was. For the time allowed, size of the rink, and quality of the ice, while fun, not worth it the price.

If you’re looking for a place to go ice skating this winter, don’t go to The Avalon rink. It’s extremely over priced for a small rink. The skates are not sharp and hurt (worse than what is expected). The ice is chipped beyond belief, which makes having a smooth skate almost impossible. I’m a seasoned skater and I couldn’t go a few feet in front of me without stumbling due to the terrible ice. Your money is better spent elsewhere! For a plaza that clearly brings in good revenue, I’m surprised they couldn’t provide a better experience.
